Shank 2 Announced
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 29th of September 2011 - 06:18 PM ]
EA has announced that they are working with Klei Entertainment on a sequel to Shank, simply titled "Shank 2" at this point. After killing the criminals who betrayed him, former mob hit man Shank must protect his loved ones from the mob he once worked for. So far no release date has been given, but we can surely expect this one to come out sometime in 2012. I never played the first Shank but I have heard nothing but good things, plus the game looked pretty awesome. Well here are some screen shots and an announcement trailer, enjoy. Read More...

by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 23rd of September 2011 - 07:03 PM ]
The Diablo III Beta test hasn't even been live for a whole week, and Mike Morhaime announced today that releasing Diablo III "Soon" was too soon. Since February Blizzard had said they were "hoping" to have a launch by the end of this year, but never fully committed to it. Well looks like players are going to have to wait a while longer to get in on this hot title. "While this news might not be a complete surprise, I know that many of you were hopeful that Diablo III would ship this year. We were too. Read More...

How Do The PSP God Of War Titles Compare To PS3?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 16th of August 2011 - 09:17 PM ]
When I heard that Sony was going to bundle the two PSP God Of War titles, Chains Of Olympus and Ghost Of Sparta, for the PS3 I was a little upset. I already dropped the cash on these games for the PSP and the PS3 was already out. I thought then, why did they not just make these games on the PS3 and just make them downloadable or cheap disks? After seeing the below comparison, I am even more infuriated that I had to wait to get them in high definition and on my big screen at home. Watch the trailer clip below and tell me that it wouldn't have made sense to just put both of these titles on the PSN or PS3 in the first place. Read More...

Inversion Lets You Co-Op With More Than Gravity
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 11th of August 2011 - 07:09 PM ]
As if manipulating gravity for your own needs in Inversion wasn't advantage enough, you can also have a buddy in the mix doing the same thing. Given the story of the game, I can understand why co-op fits in. Saving the day is more than a one-person job, even for Davis - the main character. I get that. Though, for far as a game goes, it just seems like it may be too much firepower on your side compared to the challenge of the main Campaign Mode. I was able to make it through the E3 demo of the game not firing a single shot from anything but the gravity gun without much of an issue. Read More...

Review: Grand Prix Story
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 10th of August 2011 - 05:17 PM ]
Mobile gaming has come a long way in terms of game design and depth. One of the leading developers in this area is Kairosoft. Their first big hit, Game Dev Story, turned a lot of heads, gaining critical acclaim for their simulation of running a video game development studio. Their latest release on the Android platform is Grand Prix Story – a simulation of running an automobile racing team. Start your smart phones! You start out by choosing your racing team’s name. Review: Captain America: Super Soldier
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 19th of July 2011 - 09:41 PM ]
Just as other reviews recently, it is time yet again to take a look at another video game based on a Big Budget film. This time it is Captain America: Super Soldier based around the hero and forthcoming film of similar, but not exact title. Could this just be more slop like the Spider Man 3 game or can it actual surpass and be something worth your time? Let's take a look at how Cap' shapes up. The Story Intelligence has gotten back to the Allies that some of the allies to the Axis powers have been forging new technology that rivals that of Stark Industries during WWII. Read More...

Waterworks In The New Mortal Kombat DLC
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 18th of July 2011 - 03:55 PM ]
The guys over at NetherRealm Studios have released a few trailers for their newest Mortal Kombat DLC character Rain. The trailers show off some of his back story, which is quite nice. Seems that after being orphaned from Shao-Khan's merciless army, the resistance adopted him and made him into a very powerful but arrogant warrior. After being denied a command position in the resistance he betrayed them and joined his mortal enemy, Shao-Khan. The trailers also shows off some very brutal combos and attacks that we can expect to dish out and sorely take to the face a couple dozen times. Read More...

E3 2011 Impressions: Tomb Raider
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 14th of June 2011 - 04:11 PM ]
If there is one franchise that feels like it has been milked to death, it would be Tomb Raider. The true definition that sex sells in gaming. So it would be very little surprise that Eidos would look into remaking such a beloved franchise for more money. Only from what we got to see at E3, I would not put it in the normal "remake for money" category just yet. This new Tomb Raider looks like it is going to do for this franchise what Batman Begins did for the Batman film franchise. It is darker. Read More...

Finally Some Prototype 2 Screens
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 12th of May 2011 - 06:07 PM ]
Maybe it is just me, or because we are still a year out from launch, but the visuals for Prototype 2 don't seem to be going the way most sequels go. Usually there is some insane boost or extreme change in how things look. From the below screen I'd swear that they were take straight out of the first game. Not that it is a bad thing, but a little unexpected. I do have to say that some of these shots do have me raring to go back and play the original Prototype just because of how much fun I originally had. Read More...

Rainbow Farting Unicorn, Yea That Was Said...
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 25th of April 2011 - 07:04 PM ]
A new video has been posted on YouTube celebrity Freddie Wong's page, featuring a very gaseous little unicorn. Although at first it seems to be a normal humorous YouTube video, the credits point us in another direction. The video starts off with Freddie surfing the internet and getting a pop-up add claiming he has won something. Being slightly more curious than normal, he clicks on the ad and suddenly there are screeches in and out of existence dropping off what sounds like a heavy package. Freddie goes outside to see what it is. Read More...

Inversion Shows How You Don't Miss Gravity Until It's Gone
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 21st of April 2011 - 05:26 PM ]
Man this is so true. I don't know how many times I've been caught with the dilemma of missing gravity. Oh wait, that's never happened. But then again I live in the real world where we don't have aliens trying to invade by shutting off our laws of physics. But could you only imagine? Of course you can't. Speaking of being invaded by aliens who can mess with all of the laws here, and from the looks bestow that ability, there is a new trailer for Inversion. It is all pre-rendered stuff, but it does give a small glimpse of what the basic story of the game will be. Read More...

A Cloverfiled Look At Inversion
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 7th of April 2011 - 04:02 PM ]
A few months ago I brought you a look at Inversion, Namco's upcoming game that give you use over the fundamental forces of gravity. There was a teaser. There were a few screen shots. There was even a Feb 7th 2012 date given for the game. Fun stuff… Looks like the early promotions are continuing, only this time it has nothing really all that new for the game. Maybe a bit of what is going on with the story, but even that can't be fully seen here. It's like the beginning of Heroes then moves into some crazy Cloverfield shots. Read More...

Dungeon Siege III Katarina Video
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 30th of March 2011 - 06:01 PM ]
Dungeon Siege III is a little more than two months away and I can hardly contain my excitement. We recently got a video highlighting the latest ally that will be available in game and this girl is fierce. Katarina Vignette is a ranged death dealing machine and the third ally to be announced. Trained in the ways of nomads, she uses Guns, Magic and a black hound to pretty much eviscerate her enemies. The 10th legion did well when they recruited her. Expect some awesome pistol play, and some very cool shotgun animations, which are really highlighted in the following video. Read More...

Review: Knights Contract
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 21st of March 2011 - 09:26 PM ]
It is time to travel back to the early Burning Times. A time when religious superstition and fears drove many good and innocent people to the gallows or to a public burning at the stake. A time depicted and twisted for Game Republic and Namco Bandai's most recent endeavor, Knights Contract. In Knights Contract you play Heinrich Hofmann, an experienced witch-executioner plagued by a curse of immortality, who charged with the task of protecting a witch by the name of Gretchen as she attempts to save the world. The world is being threatened by a mad scientist, named Dr. Faust, who is trying to gain the same curse Heinrich has, as well as rid the world of witches all together. Read More...
