Kingdom Hearts Final Mix is the third release of the original Kingdom Hearts game, originally released only in Japan. It features all additions the North American release of Kingdom Hearts had, as well as a few added scores, bosses, and cut scenes. Thanks to Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix, Final Mix will finally see North American shores. The game play has been revamped to play more like Kingdom Hearts 2, which will appeal to most fans of the series. The 3D models from Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance are being used for the games, ensuring a much better visual quality compared to the original release.
Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories was a PlayStation 2 re-release of the Gameboy Advanced game, Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories. I am personally surprised that it was received so well by fans, since it kept the same card system for its fight sequences that was never used again for any other game. While the story ties Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 together perfectly, the game play was either annoying or incredibly easy, depending on how well you stacked your deck of attack cards. By the time I beat the first half of the game on the GBA, my deck was stacked where all I had to do to win was spam the combo string.
As a huge fan of Kingdom Hearts, I personally cannot wait to get my hands on this collection. With the chance to finally get my hands on Final Mix and a chance to play Re:Chain of Memories, being forced to wait till Fall 2013 is going to be difficult.
