The jDome Website is home to this project that creates a monitor view with an immersive 180-degree field of vision for gaming, using a pretty simple patented approach that only costs a couple of hundred dollars to construct. There's a video with the inventor showing off a prototype of the project on Gizomdo, where they comment on it's potential to induce headaches.
