We still don't have a solid date on when we can expect the story DLC for BioShock Infinite, but that doesn't stop the train of fun. Most fans of the franchise can't wait to go back into Rapture with Booker and Elizabeth. I'd be lying if I wasn't interested in see if this will be a side story to BioShock and not just another side dimension that takes place in Rapture with no real hooks to the original story. I'm going to guess that it is a side dimension with considerable similarities to the original Rapture we wandered in BioShock and BioShock 2, but we'll see. Earlier this year we got a trailer and a few details about the second season of Mortal Kombat: Legacy. I was not overly impressed. Now the time has come and we have the full season available to watch. I have and am still not impressed at all. Again this feels like a simple milking of the franchise and nothing more. Last Monday during Raw 2K Sports revealed the full roster for their upcoming game WWE 2K14. The roster features a nice balance between legends and current generation superstars. There are a few standouts here like Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns (The Shield) who are in a WWE game for the first time ever. Also the previously announced Hulk Hogan was also a surprise due to his affiliation with rival company TNA. WWE fans have a lot to look forward to next month with the introduction of the new Pay-Per-View Battleground and the release of the annual WWE game. Last year WWE 13 took a look at the infamous Attitude Era. This year WWE 2K14 is looking at the biggest event in WWE history; WrestleMania. The new single player mode 30 years of WrestleMaina covers some of the greatest matches from WrestleMaina 1 to last year's WrestleMaina 29. Well this has been a long time coming since we got our first look years ago at E3 but The Bureau: XCOM Declassified has finally hit the streets. For a while there I was a little scared it wouldn't be coming out given the focus on other titles and a whole different game in the same franchise. But here we go. A little history lesson here. Back in the very late 80's and early 90's there was a game called Shadow Of The Beast that also spawned two sequels. Lesson over. Now in the coming year(s) here we are getting a "Re-Imagining" of the game exclusively on the PlayStation 4. That is really the all the information that has been announced so far outside of the following teaser trailer. Back in April, I wrote an article showcasing what I had seen of Magic The Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014 during my interview at PAX East. I had been waiting for the game to be released so I could hop into it and get my first look at the new Magic The Gathering 2014 Core Set expansion since, as always, I knew that all MTG players will get their first look and get to play with the cards first in DOTP. With the below trailer straight out of Gamescom, we are up to five of the eight assassins hunting Batman in Arkham Origins now. There are still loads of other villains, NPCs and sidekicks announced as well, but now we can add Firefly to the list of killers. Also it looks like there might be some pretty damn cool fight/flight scenes mixed in with this new character as well. Keep an eye out in the trailer and you'll most likely see what I am talking about. Just in case you were still worried about the overall tone of Dead Rising 3 still being "too serious" and you've missed all the Twitter chatter about the game still having its light hearted side, then do I have a trailer for you. Since it seems that Microsoft is still fine tuning all of the "features" and "requirements" around the Xbox One, why don't we focus on what seems a bit more concrete right now? I'm talking about the launch line-up that they just released into the wild during Gamescom. Below you can see the full list of titles ranging through almost every genre that we gamers could want. Here we go. Just the announcement that everyone who was a fan of BioShock Infinite has been waiting for; the DLC. Seems odd that so many people were pining for this DLC yet normally get pissed when publishers announce some cool little thing is going to end up being DLC at some point. Well, not that much that we have not seen or heard from E3 will answer that question. It makes sense that Batman: Arkham Origins would be on display at the San Diego Comic Con but you would think that there would be some kind of information dump that wasn't handed out a month prior. Or at least an amazing individual on the internet has you covered in the video aspect and I have you covered in the details as I was there taking notes for you. It should be no surprise that there isn't much in the way of new information since E3, but a few choice questions from fans and during the panel revealed a few tidbits. One of the best things I have heard in a while has to be that there are no plans to force DLC down our throats even though there were some major cuts from the 850+ page script of the game. Just as last year, The Walking Dead Escape was back with a vengeance at Petco Park during the San Diego Comic Con. For the uninitiated this is an event where a good portion of the sports arena in San Diego was converted into an obstacle course in the theme of AMC's The Walking Dead. It really allows for people to really test their mettle and some of their survival skills to brag that they could survive the initial zombie outbreak. I was lucky enough to get to run the course again this year and what I found interesting was that most people I ran with compared the experience to most of the action zombie video games on the market today. Granted we were not allowed to attack the zombies in the run, but I would have to agree with the sentiment as there has been a push in the industry with Outlast and Dying Light this year. Read More...
