by Sam [ Thursday, 26th of February 2009 - 05:07 AM ]
For the first 14 days of March, Sony is giving one lucky winner each day a huge StA52 Assault Rifle from Killzone 2. The catch is real easy, all you have to do is play Killzone 2. Sony will be browsing around on the leader boards each day and picking winners in both single player and multiplayer game modes. Like the Gears of War 2 assault rile, these too won't be sold in stores, so they should be worth something. Read More…

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 25th of February 2009 - 09:15 PM ]
Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop Webisode 2 So if two day is too long to wait for a chance to try out the motion controls for Capcom's new Dead Rising game, they have brought out another of those fun little videos showing you the controls for the game. This time it shows off how to attack with any of the melee weapons you can pick up in the game. As we know there are a lot of random things like this in this franchise. As you guessed it, it really just comes down to waving the WiiMote to swing the weapon at your targets. Read More…

Dooming Missions
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 25th of February 2009 - 08:25 PM ]
First DCU Mission Explained We all know that MMOs need to have good missions to keep players coming back and interested in the game. Without them, what is the point of even playing. Outside Socializing and building characters and grinding out levels and being part of the in crowd. Well there really isn't a reason outside of those and the designers really understand this well over there at Sony Online Entertainment and DC. They realize it very well as the below video displays. This video shows how each side of the game, Hero or Villain, will take on one of the more iconic storylines of the DC world. Read More…

Concepts Not In Limbo
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 25th of February 2009 - 05:39 PM ]
Some Concept Art From Dante's Inferno After seeing the awesome trailer for the game yesterday, I thought it would be a bit more time before we saw anything further for this game (Dante's Inferno). Partially I was right, partially I was wrong. Unless of course you count concept art for some of the scenes in the trailer to be new and cool images for the game. If you do though, then here you go. EA has handed out some of the artwork behind some of the visuals you got to see so far. Read More…

All with a fancy press release and 15 new screen shots of the game. I thought it was going to be much later in the day for this, but I'll take the pleasant surprise. Read More…

Sony Unviels New PSP Color/Package, An OpEd
by Ben Brody [ Wednesday, 25th of February 2009 - 06:42 AM ]
Opinion Editorial, By Ben BrodySony, looking to chip away at teenage girls's fascinations with the Nintendo DS, announced a fancy new PSP Pack. The Pink PSP. It'll come with a lilac (let's face it, it's pink) colored PSP-3000, a Hannah Montana game, and a 2gb Memory stick preloaded with a few Hannah Montana episodes. While I don't exactly think there's anything wrong with the PSP it seems to me that the market they are trying to corner is going to always go with the DS when they realize that the most "girly" PSP game that exists is called Ratchet and Clank Size Matters. It's slated to hit shelves in July. Read More…

Wii DLC for the Week of 2/23
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 25th of February 2009 - 05:17 AM ]
Hinted at last week in their press release, Nintendo released three Commodore 64 games on the Virtual Console this past Monday.  While this is not necessarily news to our friends across the pond, this is a first for those of us in North America.  The 500 Wii Points per game seems a little steep to me, but it's Nintendo and heaven forbid they sell something for less then 500 Wii Points because who knows, perhaps people will begin expecting to purchase a game only paying what it is worth.  I have a lot of fond memories over at my friend, Jason's house playing Commodore 64, but unless they release Summer Games or Winter Games, that price point is too high for me.Besides the Virtual Console releases, Wii Ware also had one release. by Jesse [ Wednesday, 25th of February 2009 - 05:14 AM ]
It was almost two months ago that Capcom announced exclusive Xbox 360 and PlayStaion 3 console bundles exclusive to Japan. It seems as though half that good news is coming to North America as Capcom and Microsoft are celebrating the much anticipated debut of the Resident Evil series on the Xbox 360 with the release of a red, limited edition bundle. As with the stand-alone game, the console bundle will arrive on store shelves on Friday, March 13. The pack will feature a copy of Resident Evil 5, red Xbox 360 Elite with 120 GB Hard Drive, matching limited edition red wireless controller, a black Xbox 360 headset, and exclusive premium Resident Evil 5 theme downloaded over Xbox Live. Be The Center Of Attention Like Laugh Riot
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 24th of February 2009 - 09:25 PM ]
DC Universe Character Trailer So far most of the buzz on Sony's DC Universe has been the named characters from DC comics that a player will be able to interact with or run along side. Outside of that and a few scene drops, nothing substantial has been seen since Comic Con 2008 where there was a playable demo there. Well a bit of wait is now over. Today the good people over at Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) have decided to grace the interwebs with a bit more on the types of characters you can play in the game. Read More…

Screen Shots Set To Stun
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 24th of February 2009 - 06:11 PM ]
New Screens For Star Trek Online There has been some more screen shots released into the wild for our consumption for Cryptic's new game Star Trek Online. Nothing really all that ground breaking except for the fact that there are a few more shots that are not of the space scenes of the game. Something that has been kind of rare from the past shots that have snuck out into the wild. I am still kind of curious on exactly how this game will actually look during play. These shots, much like the ones in the past, look a lot like concept shots, but then you can also see how they could be shots from the game. Read More…

Go To Hell!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 24th of February 2009 - 04:52 PM ]
Dante's Inferno Trailer I remember back when I had to read this book (Divine Comedy) for school and write a paper on the travels of Dante through the levels of Hell. What I don't remember was it looking this cool in my head when I was reading it. If it did, I probably would have continued to be an English major or something. Most likely not. But for those of you who are like me or are being forced to go through the same things I did so many years ago, here are some great visuals for you to take in and use when reading the book. inFAMOUS Humble Pie
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 24th of February 2009 - 06:43 AM ]
inFAMOUS: I AM Scared Trailer Some of you might remember a few weeks ago when I posted up some of the new screen shots and video for Sony's upcoming game inFAMOUS. It was filled with what was listed as the powers for the game. You may also remember that I railed on how disappointing they looked to be when compared to what was described in this game as well as other titles that are along similar lines. Well I might have been a little quick to jump the gun on this one. At least from looking at some of the new footage that was just released. Read More…
