The Walking Dead Escape Is Again Letting Us Play A Survival Game At SDCC
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 1st of July 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
The Walking Dead Escape is coming back to San Diego Comic Con for a third year and is allowing us gamers to try to survive a zombie apocalypse game in real life If there has been one thing that has caught my love over the last few years at San Diego Comic Con it has to be The Walking Dead Escape. If you haven't seen or heard of it or seen it you can see my 2013 run and my 2012 run or you can just look around online as the event is still touring around the country giving all of us gamers a chance to test our mettle in a real live zombie apocalypse of sorts. If you are just one of those lazy people here I'll recap what the event is all about. In a nut shell they people who put on the event take over an arena, mall, or large building structure and do it and its surroundings up as if it was a location from The Walking Dead show or comic. Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries To Be Playable At Gamescom
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 30th of June 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries to be at Gamescom and playable in the consumer area for the first time to the public If Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries sounds familiar but you can't place your finger on it, it was showcased during the ID@Xbox montage during the Microsoft press conference on June 9th. Some of you may have heard about the game before that, have a free cookie, but to the public at large that was one of the largest showcasing of the game to date. It was announced a little under a year ago so it is pretty cool for the developers to get the showing at E3 and now Woolfe is getting a nice playable version at Gamescom. That might not be all that cool for a lot of us who will not be able to make the adventure to Gamescom, assuming most of my readers are in the North American region of course, but that does mean that we will be seeing more video from Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries soon. This Week In Gaming 6/23/14 — 6/27/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 27th of June 2014 - 11:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming This has been some week in terms of gaming news. It was a bit expected but not to the lull that it has been in the wake of E3. That of course didn't stop us from gathering up what we could find to update all of you with. Everything from the large titles like Batman: Arkham Knight to the smaller like Slow Down Bull. We got you covered pretty damn well here. It would defeat the purpose of giving you a recap of everything if I went over everything right now so I'll let you pick and choose what you want to see. Have A Look At The War With The Half-Breeds In The Order: 1886
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 26th of June 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
A new developer diary has been released for The Order: 1886 and it takes us behind the scenes of the war between Humans and the Half-Breeds It was revealed at E3 that there would be Lycans in The Order: 1886 and now we get to see how they "evolved" and have gone to war in the game. It is sounding very Underworld-like now but it still doesn't mean this isn't looking to be a fun and exciting game. None the less, Ready At Dawn has given us a nice long look at how they designed the monsters as well as the mentality behind building the Lycans for The Order: 1886. Yea, still doesn't sit right when I say that. Read More...

In The Mix Of E3 We Kind Of Missed The Doom 4 Teaser Trailer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 20th of June 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
There was a Doom 4 teaser released during E3 but the full reveal is slated for QuakeCon. We have that teaser though If there is one thing that I hate about E3 it is that we all get so busy that things like the new Doom 4 teaser trailer falls through the cracks and doesn't get its 15 minutes of fame. I almost missed it in the mix of all the emails and social media posts. Lucky enough for all of us that I caught it and was able to place it in memory to show off after all the madness had ended. Do You Want To See What Was Shown Off For The Phantom Pain At E3?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 20th of June 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Early on the 19th of June, Konami and Hideo Kojima showed off the closed doors demo for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Good news for all of you who didn't want to take the time to read through my Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain impressions from E3. It looks like Konami and Kojima wanted to cater to all of you who don't have the time to read through some heartfelt words letting you know what I saw for the game. They have just released the 30+ minute demo that was shown at E3 that many never had a chance to even see. Good news for you but bad for me as my words are falling on blind eyes now. Read More...

E3 2014 Impressions: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 19th of June 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It I was lucky enough to see The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt at E3 2013 and again this was one of the titles I was able to close out E3 2014 with. This time around CD Projekt Red had another year to build and expand on everything in the game. You should have seen some of it if you watched one of the press conferences online or in person. Only this demo I was shown took place minutes after that one ended and Geralt has ridden into the town with the Griffon head in tow. Read More...

E3 2014 Hands On: Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 19th of June 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It Here on the site we have had mixed reviews and wants for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Some are excited to play the new game. Others are questioning why 2K and Gearbox are even trying to milk us for more money. None the less I was personally able to put hands to the game during E3 and I was able to see if the new additions and locations will make Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel feel like the game that the developers are trying to make it be. All at least through the eyes of the new-ish character Athena the Gladiatrix. Read More...

E3 2014 Impressions: Mortal Kombat X
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 17th of June 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See Mortal Kombat X In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It Mortal Kombat X was teased and rumored long enough before E3 that it was no real big surprise to see it play out on the big screens during the press conferences. By no means am I saying it wasn't a treat to see but there was no real shock and awe moment as the game was fully announced. But that is really all that happened on the big screen leaving much to be desired beyond the long lines of fans waiting to see what Ed Boon had in store for us; not to mention the two new characters promised to be shown off during the event. But beyond that long line was much more than was to be expected… First and foremost was the fact that we got to see not only two new characters to the Mortal Kombat universe but we got to see four. E3 2014 Impressions: Homefront: The Revolution
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 16th of June 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See Homefront: The Revolution In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It Yet another title announced just shy of the official E3 startup was Homefront: The Revolution. One of the IPs that was picked up from THQ during their fire-sale following the shutdown of the company. This time being helmed by Crytek using that oh-so-beautiful engine of theirs and published by Deep Silver. I was lucky enough to sit through a demo, no hands on here, for Homefront: The Revolution so sit back and enjoy the breakdown I have on what I think about what I saw. Read More...

This Week In Gaming 6/9/14 — 6/13/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 14th of June 2014 - 01:01 AM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming This has been one insane week and we have tried to cover everything we could for E3 and all of the news, announcements, and everything in gaming. There is still a whole load of impressions and hands on we are still trying to churn out so you can get a feel for what you may have missed or didn't have the chance to actually play. There were fewer hands on with games in general but there was a plethora of all things we can expect in the world of gaming. We were so very lucky to have been able to sit through all of the press conferences and able to give you all the ability to watch as the gaming news came flying in. Read More...

E3 2014 Hands On: Battlecry
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 13th of June 2014 - 11:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See Battlecry In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It Announced just before E3 we have Battlecry from Bethesda and BattleCry Studios. This is the new title that is a 32 player multiplayer hack 'n' slash title where players take on the role of one of five classes from one of three different factions in the game. Up until now we only had a nice CGI trailer for the game and a few screen shots that showed off the cell shaded looking world of visceral combat. Luckily it was also available to play while on the floor of E3 and I got to play quite a few matches of the game as one of the enforcers in the game. Read More...

E3 2014 Hands On: The Evil Within
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 13th of June 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See The Evil Within In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It Here is yet another title that I have been dying for and am going to have a fun V-day with The Evil Within. It was on the floor here as a playable demo, the first time I've had a chance to actually get my mitts on the game; all in a nice and creepy setting to boot. Just the way a game like this needs to be played. I only wish Bethesda would let me take home some of the decor to place up in my god-cave so I can replay the same experience. Read More...

E3 2014 Impressions: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 11th of June 2014 - 09:20 PM ]
While at E3 I got to see Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in a more intimate setting than just the trailer. Here's my take on it All of the teases and short shows of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain can all be put aside now as we were given a new and nice look at the game and features that have yet to be announced or shown in a public form. It also kind of puts the whole demo thing for Ground Zeroes to the side as with what was shown here at E3 was considerably more and with a demo you should get all of the game's mechanics and features. Yes the core running, stealth, and shooting are all the same but here is what we didn't get to play before but will once The Phantom Pain launches. Read More...

E3 2014 Impressions: HUNT: Horrors Of The Gilded Age
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 11th of June 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
While at E3 I got to see HUNT: Horrors Of The Gilded Age in a more intimate setting than just the trailer. Here's my take on it Talk about a hidden gem with HUNT: Horrors Of The Gilded Age coming from Crytek. We had an official announcement just a few weeks ago but it didn't do much to impress me as an original IP but more the blending of two other IPs coming soon. I could not have been more mistaken after seeing what they had to show on the floor at E3 for HUNT: Horrors Of The Gilded Age. It does have similarities to games like The Order: 1886 and Evolve but it really shines as its own idea. Read More...
