Portal REALLY Still Alive
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 9th of October 2008 - 03:29 PM ]
Download Portal: Prelude I mentioned a little while ago about a group of people getting together and doing a prequel to Portal. All original stuff leading up to the first game. Something like 400+ original lines of voice acting and such to that. Well the wait for this is now over. As of yesterday, you are now able to download the first build of these prequel levels to the game. It is a pretty big, well relatively big, download of almost 800 MB through Fileplanet right now, but they are looking for more mirrors for download. So feel free to download and try this extra content and post a review. Read More...

Price Drop on the 360 for the UKers?
by Andy [ Saturday, 13th of September 2008 - 04:03 AM ]
So it seems that Microsoft/Woolworths has decided to drop the price for all of you UKers. This isn't 100% positive until the actual flyer comes out of course, but it would definitely make sense that they did, considering they dropped the price for the US and Japan. So now all of you who thought the xbox was too pricey may have to speak another tune. Hell, if you have an old version, you might as well upgrade to a nice elite. Read More...

Pwned.com's Gaming Night Schwag Contest
by Michael Camacho [ Wednesday, 3rd of September 2008 - 12:47 AM ]
After going to the various conventions and expos, we at Pwned.com realized that we have a lot of schwag we picked up.  The items include posters, toys, buttons, stickers, demos and more.  Instead of hording all of this for ourselves, we are giving back to you, the members of the site.  We had quite a few ideas of how to give this stuff away, some ridiculous, some too much of a pain in the arse to do.  We finally came up with the idea of combining the contest with our Pwned.com Gaming Nights. Saints Row 2 Hands On @ PAX '08
by Michael Camacho [ Tuesday, 2nd of September 2008 - 01:37 PM ]
After playing the first Saints Row for more hours than I can possibly count, I’ve been extremely excited since the announcement of Saints Row 2 coming in 2008.  After one delay, which has pushed the game back to October 14 2008, I about lost my mind.  But I would not have to wait that long to at least get a test run, and this is where PAX 2008 comes into play.    After a short five minute play through during the media time on Friday, I knew I had to get back and play the full first mission of Saints Row. Sunday, I got to finally get a full session in and take in the experience of Saints Row 2. Read More...

Total Link PWNage
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 1st of April 2008 - 09:40 PM ]
Legend Of Zelda Movie Trailer Premiere Ok, so I could have the largest dick in the universe and report this as 100% real, but I am not. In fact, I've been trolling around to find real stuff to report on, but alas, today is the day that everyone goes above and beyond to pull a prank. For F*cks sake, some of these "Joke" ideas are good enough to be made real; like the Bard class for WoW. But no, everyone has got to have their turn at teasing the world only to kick them in the virtual nuts by saying ha-f*cking-ha. I mean, I like a joke more than the next guy, but when you go to extreme lengths like what you will see below, it is no longer a good joke but just harmful. Read More...

VALVE, UPDATES and YOU!!
by Stephanie Naboshek [ Tuesday, 1st of April 2008 - 12:55 PM ]
Over the weekend a handful of updates were released for all you STEAM users out there. If you've already restarted your Steam client since yesterday then it's already been installed. First off, Valve updated the Steam client last week, fixing some bugs and compatibility problems that some of you may or may not have been experiencing. And then again yesterday came two update bundles for those of you who have either FRONTLINES: Full of War and/or Garry's Mod on your Steam account. In the answers to our hopes and prayers, Valve has made a good impact an some common problems experienced during game and fixing bugs responsible for many crashes (God knows my Gmod crashes all the time). by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 20th of March 2008 - 05:50 PM ]
Pre-Register with Squenix Members This is for all you die hard Squenix fans. Looks like they are opening up their Member program in the States next week. On the 24th to be exact. As of right now, they are letting those in the know to register their names and accounts to this service. Kind of to let those fans get first crack at their Usernames and such before it goes fully live. Already snagged up Hades on there if anyone was thinking of sniping it from me. :) There is no full word on what exactly will be coming with the Membership program. Read More...

Older Professional Gamer league closes it's doors
by Trina [ Friday, 14th of March 2008 - 07:31 PM ]
It's sad, but true, the Cyberathlete Professional League has announced that they will be closing the league. CPL has been around and popular since 1997, but the showey World Series of VideoGames and CGS have taken a toll on CPL. All events that were scheduled for 2008 have been cancelled. "Effective immediately, the Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) will cease operations. Therefore, all CPL events currently scheduled for 2008 are hereby canceled," said a post on the CPL website. "The current fragmentation of the sport, a crowded field of competing leagues, and the current economic climate have prompted the CPL to suspend its pro-tournament operations. Read More...

First Jason And Now Freddy Slashing Away
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 5th of March 2008 - 09:14 PM ]
Rumor: Europe Might Be Getting A Xbox 360 Price Cut So yesterday I talked about how and why the PS3 might get a much needed price slash. Now it turns out that the Xbox 360 might be getting one as well. The big difference in these two stories is that this one seems more like a fact than a rumor, unlike the PS3 report. This should go into effect some time before the Easter sales period and it is reported to be a 50 EUR drop down on all systems. Making the ranges of the systems down to 150 EUR for the Arcade Version, 200 EUR for the Premium, and 240 EUR for the Elite version of the system. Read More...
