by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 7th of October 2013 - 05:08 PM ]
We have been promised some great things for the upcoming Call Of Duty: Ghosts and I am talking more than just the dogs. New modes, new graphics, new engine, all kinds of new stuff. Well here we go with yet another new feature to the franchise and next installment to the franchise. This new mode is called squads. What is Squads? Well according to the below trailer, this is a whole new set of modes for single player or multiplayer where you get to build your own squad and pit them against other player's squads or AI squads. Let's Pep Up On This Somber Day With A New Call of Duty: Ghosts Trailer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 11th of September 2013 - 07:10 PM ]
If you are an United States citizen then today has a different and most likely somber meaning than "just another day." It could also be a day where everyone and their sidekick try to use it to gain something in the guise of being topical or remorseful. It happens. It is human nature it would seem. In any instance we should all pay reverence to those who keep people like me free to post mindless gaming news on the internet. What better way to do that then to watch a new trailer for Call Of Duty: Ghosts so we can think we know what those brave people do? Attention grabbing aside now. Read More...

Here's What We Will Be Playing Day One For The PS4
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 21st of August 2013 - 06:55 PM ]
Just as Microsoft did yesterday, it looks like we have a pretty well rounded list of titles coming Day One-ish for the PS4 when it finally hits homes on November 15th. At first glance it looks like it is a bit longer, 10 more titles to be exact, but there are a few titles there that we've already had our hands on for a while now. Granted, it would be nice to have them all be original titles, but that is just the dream. By no means does this mean that I am not excited for the launch of the new console, but the numbers do seem a bit padded in regards to what will be available from launch. Read More...

Call of Duty: Ghosts - Multiplayer Livestream
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 14th of August 2013 - 05:00 PM ]
In case you haven't heard yet there is going to be a multiplayer mode in the upcoming Call Of Duty: Ghosts. I know right? I was shocked to find out about it. I just hope that it isn't some kind of tacked on last minute thing. I hate when that…oh wait… This just in, the multiplayer addition is nothing new to the franchise nor "tacked on." Well don't I have egg on my face…? Levity aside now. Read More...

E3 2013 Impressions: Call Of Duty: Ghosts
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 19th of June 2013 - 07:28 PM ]
Keeping to their word, Activision and Infinity Ward showed the world most of what they had for E3 during their Call Of Duty: Ghosts All Access event the Sunday before the show began proper. Almost to the point where it was almost pointless for anyone who is an online blogger/journalist to even cover on the show floor. Mind you, I did say almost. Besides having maybe a minute or so more of the game play shown during the event there were only a few things shown that highlighted the new engine that Call Of Duty: Ghosts will be running on. Watch The Call Of Duty: Ghosts All Access Livestream Right Here
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Sunday, 9th of June 2013 - 05:03 PM ]
So just as Konami did earlier, Activision is hosting a PrE3 event. The only difference is that this 30 minute event is all about one title, Call Of Duty: Ghosts. It starts at 11am PST on the 9th, A.K.A. today. Unless you are reading this in the future then we'll just go with June 9th. Either way you should be able to see it below, even if you are viewing from the future. What are they going to cover? Well from what I've been told we will get to see a few game play levels, behind the scenes footage, interviews with the people over at Infinity Ward, and more. Read More...

Things Are Getting Hairy For Call Of Duty: Ghosts
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 23rd of May 2013 - 04:35 PM ]
I am sure we are still trying to take in the Xbox One reveal and the odd focus on TV and Sports. But let's skip all of that for now and focus on the tail end of the reveal. I am talking Call Of Duty: Ghosts and the new trailer, behind the scenes, and comparison videos we all sat through 45 minutes to get to. Even though the Xbox One and 360 will be getting DLC first for the game, as usual, it is still a title that gamers of any platform can sink their teeth into. It looks like we are going into a post war world that has been ravaged by humans once again; the mongrels. Read More...

How To Make A Better Call Of Duty
by Matt Waitt [ Friday, 5th of April 2013 - 10:53 PM ]
With yearly installments coming from two different teams of developers and a horde of mindless followers, I felt it would be nice if I gave my two cents on how to improve upon the stagnant Call of Duty formula before it turns into the next Guitar Hero or Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. So let's see what's wrong with the formula now. 1.) Lag Compensation. Read More...

Where Is The Teamwork When You Need It?
by Kenton Winkfield [ Tuesday, 19th of March 2013 - 06:59 PM ]
In a world full of Halos and Call of Dutys where players can be a one man army and carry their entire team to victory, how is it games like Army of Two, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, or even Battlefield manage to have such a large player base? The amount of people who group together isn't as large as it would seem. People, like me, don't have friends to play these games with because our friends either don't buy the game or trade it in shortly after it's released. So now I run into team based games alone and I'm forced to group up with people who either don't have a microphone or sit in a party with their friends who are playing different games. Read More...

Review: Call Of Duty: Black Ops II
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 26th of November 2012 - 05:20 PM ]
It's that time of year again. Time for the annual installment of the Call of Duty franchise. Time for the follow up to Black Op appropriately given the sequel moniker of 2. With all of that, let's see how it held up compared to all the others of the past. At least as it goes in the Campaign Mode. Story It's a foreseeable future and there is a "cyber" terrorist gearing up to bring the major super powers to their knees over something that happened in the past. The past being the mid 80's just for reference. It is up to a Special Forces team to figure out what is going, stop it from happening, and capture the mastermind behind everything. Read More...

Here Is What Was Promised For Black Ops II Zombies Last Week
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 27th of September 2012 - 07:07 PM ]
So last week we were teased with a world premiere for the Zombies mode for Call Of Duty: Black Ops II. Teased and left waiting. Well the wait is now over. Below we have the "World Premiere" of Zombies mode for Black Ops II and, well, we are still left wondering what is going on with it. The two minute video below shows off some fun game play and cinematics for the mode, but now real details though. Outside of what looks like a campaign style progression map leading to new maps to kill the undead. If you want to call it that. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 19th of September 2012 - 08:43 PM ]
Don't you just love being teased? At least in this aspect you only have about a week before the details of Black Ops II Zombies will be let loose on the populace. I know this because the following teaser says so. Don't believe me, then go get teased as well. This is the mode that so many people have been begging for information for. Maybe the pre-rendered teaser gives up something. Well, nope it really doesn't now does it? Read More...

The Problems With Exclusives
by Greg Tatterfield [ Tuesday, 21st of August 2012 - 05:40 PM ]
Have you ever missed out on a hot new release game because you didn’t own the right console? It has probably happened to all of us one time or another due to a console exclusive. Console exclusives act as an ace in the hole for most companies when they market a console. This is a very common trend in the game industry that hurts not only the consumer but also the developers. By only releasing on one console its locks out the other half of gamers who only may own one console and limits the sale margin for said game. Console exclusives isolate the gaming community by splitting it in half. Read More...
