Nightwish Is Finally Coming To Rockband

Today Harmonix gave us an update on next week's DLC. We have two new tracks from Foreigner, "I want to know what love is" and "Waiting for a girl like you", which is cool, everyone loves Foreigner. But what really stuck out was the third song, a song by the symphonic power metal band: Nightwish. With their song "Amaranth" off of their 2007 album "Dark Passion Play" This is the first Nightwish song to become available on any Rock Band or even Rock Band Network. Definitely an interesting track they picked, there are a lot of different styles of songs for Nightwish, mainly because they go through lead singers like water. This song featured the lovely Anette Olzon who replaced the original lead singer: Tarja Turunen. Read More...

Review: Inversion

Inversion is a game I've been extremely hyped for since I first saw it at E3 2011. It's an action 3rd person shooter that allows you to also use gravity as a weapon, amongst other things, to fight your way through a post-alien-invasion world. Sounds new and interesting, but with a sneaky release date during this year's E3 how good could the game be? Well let me give you my ten cents on Inversion. My Rock Band Recommendations

If you guys don't already know I am an avid Rock Band player. I started playing rhythm games when the first Guitar Hero came out, and I've been playing ever since. Over the years I have sunk a lot of money into the DLC, at the moment I have two-hundred and thirteen downloaded songs and I wish to share my favorites with you guys. Hopefully I can persuade you into buying a song or two. Since I only play guitar on Rock Band, I can only vouch for guitar (sorry drummers, vocalists, bassists and keyboardist) I'll categorize my favorite by difficulty for guitar. Read More...

2112 Finally Coming To Rock Band

That's right ladies and gentlemen - Rush's twenty minute long epic "2112" is finally coming to Rock Band. The masterpiece will be available for download on December 31st. PS3 and XBox 360 users will have the option to either purchase and play each song separately or get the whole twenty minute "eargasm" as one song. Inversion Lets You Co-Op With More Than Gravity

As if manipulating gravity for your own needs in Inversion wasn't advantage enough, you can also have a buddy in the mix doing the same thing. Given the story of the game, I can understand why co-op fits in. Saving the day is more than a one-person job, even for Davis - the main character. I get that. Though, for far as a game goes, it just seems like it may be too much firepower on your side compared to the challenge of the main Campaign Mode. I was able to make it through the E3 demo of the game not firing a single shot from anything but the gravity gun without much of an issue. Read More...

A Steam Powered Overhaul

Valve has announced that they will be doing a major overhaul of their popular Steam service. The new system will provide users with a number of new features to support and streamline the publishing process of digital downloads. This will require all new "all-new server and client code" but it will benefit the players in the end. "The maximum aggregate bandwidth of the system will be greater than the current system; this will help us satisfy spikes in demand when there’s a big release. Inversion Shows How You Don't Miss Gravity Until It's Gone

Man this is so true. I don't know how many times I've been caught with the dilemma of missing gravity. Oh wait, that's never happened. But then again I live in the real world where we don't have aliens trying to invade by shutting off our laws of physics. But could you only imagine? Of course you can't. Speaking of being invaded by aliens who can mess with all of the laws here, and from the looks bestow that ability, there is a new trailer for Inversion. A Cloverfiled Look At Inversion

There was even a Feb 7th 2012 date given for the game. Fun stuff… Looks like the early promotions are continuing, only this time it has nothing really all that new for the game. A time depicted and twisted for Game Republic and Namco Bandai's most recent endeavor, Knights Contract. In Knights Contract you play Heinrich Hofmann, an experienced witch-executioner plagued by a curse of immortality, who charged with the task of protecting a witch by the name of Gretchen as she attempts to save the world. New Inversion Screens Show How To Command Gravity

So here is a title that has seemed to fall through the cracks of my press releases. The game is called Inversion and it is being developed by Saber Interactive and Namco. Maybe because it was suppose to come out sometime last year and then got pushed under a rug. Maybe it is because things have been silent since GamesCom 2010 and a 2011 delay announced. I don't know, but it is now slated to hit selves February 7th 2012 and from what is being shown right now, the game has snagged a bit of my attention. Pigsy's Perfect 10 Is Not A Porn As It Sounds

Maybe it is just me, but the title of the upcoming DLC for Enslaved: Odyssey To The West really sounds like a porn title. If you have played the game and run into the titular character for this DLC it's even more likely that you can make that jump in logic. I mean the character Pigsy is, well, a pig when it comes to the female populace. To go further into the thought on the DLC, the premise from the sounds of it is that Pigsy is tired of being lonely and wants to build his perfect fembot. Review: Rock Band 3 [Gamer Version]

So here we go again. Another rhythm game comes to the market, only this time it is one that is truly trying to innovate the genre. I am talking in more ways than just trying to add new ways to play songs in the way of four guitars or adding challenges to earn more points and "stars." Though we already knew that Rock Band 3 was adding in a new instrument and a "Learn To Play Real Instruments" mode, it's how they went about it that changes the genre.
