A Beast Of A New Trailer For BioShock Infinite
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 23rd of October 2012 - 06:24 PM ]
While some of us were busy participating in a 24 hour game-a-thon for Extra Life and the Children's Miracle Network, Irrational Games and Take Two decided they would let loose their new trailer for BioShock Infinite. Either it was planned or not, it definitely hit just right and brought the title back into the lime light. Not that it was left out too much, but outside of the pre-order updates news has been sparse for Infinite for quite some time. Take a look at the new trailer and a few stills from it below. What I'd Like In Borderlands 3
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 27th of September 2012 - 09:36 PM ]
Well, after beating the campaign for the first time and having my jaw drop to the floor in shock, I think it's time we start discussing what could be improved for the third installment of Borderlands. I won't be spoiling anything for you guys so you guys can take the mouse off the "X" button now. First off, I would have to say "Keep this story going." It's a great story so far and a lot of good can and will come from this. The story in Borderlands 2 is more narrative and interactive than the first one. Read More...

Review: Borderlands 2
by Kenton Winkfield [ Thursday, 27th of September 2012 - 05:06 PM ]
I first experienced Borderlands 2 at PAX East, where I got to play the demo and see some of the new features it had to offer. Five months later, I am running through the game with the excitement of a little boy picking out his presents at a toy store. Borderlands 2 takes players into (or back into) Pandora to take on a new evil, who in turn is trying to resurrect an old evil. The journey will require skill, determination, allies, and guns. Lots of guns. Read More...

Borderlands 2: 101
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 30th of August 2012 - 06:26 PM ]
Since Borderlands 2 is coming out in just over a few weeks, I felt it would be good to give you guys the low down and all the info that we know about Borderlands 2. First off, let's start with the classes; we got four new classes to choose from: Characters: Salvador (The Gunzerker) is "about as subtle, classy, and sane as one would imagine a native of Pandora to be. Which is to say: not at all. He loves blowing people up, getting paid, and laughing incessantly at the violence that surrounds him. Read More...

E3 2012 Hands On: Borderlands 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 15th of June 2012 - 08:20 PM ]
Borderlands 2 has probably got to be one of the biggest sequels coming to market this year and yours truly here got a nice 30 minute hands on with the game. Not only that, but I got hands on with the Assassin class that has yet to be playable until E3. Well at least to the general public that is. So let me break down what I got to play and give you a bit of detail into a few things Borderlands 2. Before anyone asks, they didn't really go into detail on the character creation/progression in the game and I didn't have time to dig into the three trees of the Zer0. But as you can assume they all mostly revolved around things that would make you a better, sneaky killer. Read More...

PAX East Hands-On: Borderlands 2
by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 11th of April 2012 - 04:17 PM ]
Borderlands 2 is a massive improvement from the first installment. The controls are super smooth and tight. The feeling of level grinding seems to have disappeared, thankfully. Having other colors in the game, rather than just brown, has really showed off the rich and beautiful landscape that the world of Pandora has to offer. I got to play as the new Siren in the game: Maya. Her special ability stuns her enemies in a blackish purple vortex allowing you to get off some free shots. Read More...

PAX East Hands-On: Spec Ops: The Line
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 10th of April 2012 - 09:48 PM ]
At PAX East I got to try out a little bit of the single player campaign for Spec Ops: The Line, and had a great interview with one of the developers. I really enjoyed the demo at PAX East. It was very smooth and had responsive controls. There events where you had a chance to negotiate with your enemies, but if things went sour you had to reap the consequences. For instance one group of enemies had a hostage and was threatening to kill him. Instead of waiting for them to assassinate him, I made a quick decision to kill the enemies and save my team mate's life. Read More...

This BioShock Infinite Heavy Hitter Is Screaming For Vengeance
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 28th of March 2012 - 09:23 PM ]
Here we go with the final "Heavy Hitter" for BioShock Infinite. Yep, the fourth and final that they are revealing as a hardcore enemy that is just below sub-boss and above mook in the game. We've gone over the Motorized Patriot, the Handyman and the Boys of Silence so far. Now we get to look at the Siren. Sounds kind of nice at first, then you find out that she essentially a healer that can resurrect all of the enemies you've already killed with but a scream. I'm not sure if this is going to be one of those creatures that inspire the panic to kill right away or just plain get annoying after killing everything in a room only to have her bring them all back. BioShock Infinite Using Silent Alarms Now With Their New Heavy Hitter
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 21st of March 2012 - 09:46 PM ]
Last week we got a few videos showing a few of the suped-up enemies of BioShock Infinite. The Handyman and Motorized Patriot to be specific. Keeping things going here, Irrational has brought us yet another "Heavy Hitter" from the game. These ones are called the Boys of Silence. At first glance they don't seem to imposing and only a bit on the bizarre side of things. This is BioShock after all. What is interesting her though is that these seem to be what will be taking over for those damned alarms from the first two titles. Read More...

BioShock Infinite Bringing Out The Heavy Hitters
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 14th of March 2012 - 09:13 PM ]
With the official release date set now is as good of time as any to start the news and information flowing for BioShock Infinite. I for one am glad because I was getting tired of watching the same E3 2011 footage re-hashed and produced as something new. So I thank you Irrational for giving us a look at the first two new enemies we will be facing in the game amongst what looks like a decent sized list. First up, in case you didn't see it last week, is the Motorized Patriot. I'll admit when I first saw this thing I was a little underwhelmed at first. Read More...

BioShock Infinite Has A Release Date
by Matt Waitt [ Friday, 2nd of March 2012 - 11:12 PM ]
The guys over at Irrational Games have just put up a write up on their website that quite simply says "BioShock Infinite Release Date Announced." Excuse me while I go squeal like a little school girl at a Justin Beiber concert. Ladies and gentlemen it gives me great honor to announce to you guys that the release date of BioShock Infinite is October 16th, 2012 on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Mark your calendars, quit your jobs, and put your social lives on hold. Ken Levine said that "After BioShock, we had a vision for a follow up that dwarfed the original in scope and ambition…BioShock Infinite has been our sole focus for the last four years, and we can't wait for fans to get their hands on it. New Borderlands 2 Trailer Brings The 'WubWub'
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 27th of February 2012 - 05:38 PM ]
The guys over at Gearbox Software have released a new trailer for their upcoming sequel to their smash hit Borderlands simply titled Borderlands 2. I loved playing Borderlands, the questlines; the stories and the loot were all hilariously amazing. Not to mention it has one of my favorite zombie stories ever, Zombie Island of Dr. Ned DLC which is just how a zombie story should be. The new trailer features a lot of "Wub Wub" dubstep garbage, but it can be easily muted via the volume bar on your player. Read More...

Here's Why You Should Get The Darkness II
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 9th of February 2012 - 05:52 PM ]
With the recent release of The Darkness II, I feel obligated to convince you guys to give this game a shot. I recently had a conference Q&A with the developers of The Darkness II. It was a fun and exciting new experience for me to sit down and listen to what challenges they faced while making the game and what are their personal favorites about the game. The Darkness II takes place two years after the first game, Jackie has gone from a mob hit man to the don of the family. Jackie has had the Darkness subdued for a couple years until he is attacked by an organization called "The Brotherhood" who know all of the Darkness' strengths and its weakness. Read More...

Aggrocast Episode Ninety Three: Convince Me
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 8th of February 2012 - 10:53 PM ]
This episode of the Aggrocast tries out a new feature/format called Convince Me. Brian is joined by David and Matt who have the unfortunate task to attempt to convince Brian that he wants to play The Darkness II and Twisted Metal. The discussions heat up on these soon-to-be-released games. Will I be convinced? Listen and find out. Not everything is serious business. Read More...

BioShock Infinite's 1999 Mode Makes It Not So Infinite
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 24th of January 2012 - 08:14 PM ]
Maybe it is just me but I find it funny that before when talking about BioShock Infinite the phrase "infinite possibilities" was tossed around and now there is a mode that makes everything worlds more finite. I'm talking about the 1999 mode that has been announced for the game. This mode is more or less another difficulty level like Normal or Hard except that it has one major difference; everything you do is set in stone. At first you might think that is mostly the case from before. You pick up a skill and that is your spec path for the most part with a little branching possible later. Read More...
