Video Games Saved My Wedding
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 2nd of December 2010 - 09:16 PM ]
Dealing with stress is different for each person. For those of you who have dealt with planning a wedding, you know the amounts of stress the participants encounter as the "big day" draws near. For those of you who haven't experienced it, imagine having a Christmas celebration at your place, except you're expected to buy all the presents (even the ones other people are giving each other), do all the cleaning, cook the entire meal, provide entertainment, make drinks and at the end – serve pie.* During the last few weeks prior to my wedding, both my fiancée (now wife, obviously) and I were both working full time and trying to tie up last minute details – of which there were many. We were always tired and our patience was thin. Read More…

Ghostbusters Heading Into A Sanctum Of Slime
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 2nd of December 2010 - 07:03 PM ]
With Ghostbusters: The Videogame selling over a million copies, it looks like Atari decided to milk our childhoods for more money by having Wanako Studios, a studio owned by the makers of Naughty Bear, slop together another game in the franchise. From these preliminary views, Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime is going to play just like Alien Breed or Dead Nation with a coat of Ghostbusters paint on it. A 3/4 view running around an area aiming proton beams to wrangle up all the unsavory specters. Maybe they will include the purple slime from the second film in some way. Read More…

Review: Call Of Duty: Black Ops
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 1st of December 2010 - 09:21 PM ]
We've been through WWII and up to Modern Warfare so now it is time to tackle two "wars" that seem to be glanced over by most FPS franchises. Yea, Call of Duty: Black Ops places us deep in the mix of the Vietnam War and the Bay Of Pigs Invasion all in another attempt to stop the Russians from destroying the U.S. This time they are trying it through chemical warfare and biological warfare. Review: Saw II: Flesh And Blood
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 29th of November 2010 - 07:47 PM ]
Another year and another, and touted as the last, Saw film and a new Saw game to go along with it. Some would say that the whole franchise has been going downhill for a long while now, on the film side, and Saw: The Video Game was not all that well received by gamers. "So why even make a sequel?" is what you have to be thinking. Is it to cash in on the last legs of the franchise? Read More…

by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 24th of November 2010 - 04:43 AM ]

By destroying the old world of Azeroth compliments of a big angry dragon made of fire and metal. According to a forum post by moderator Zaryhm the latest patch 4.0.3a has gone live on servers today thus changing the way denizens of Azeroth have adventured for years. The cinematic below is the same that you will see when you first login to your account, so if you haven't seen it (doubtful), or don't want to spoil it (your call) don't watch it! Let's take a quick look at what this new patch is actually brought today. Read More…

With Guardians of Graxia's Steam launch, players can pick up the original game along with the expansive map pack for under $12. This includes the %10 Steam discount. Read More…

Finally What Deus Ex Game Play Will Look Like
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 23rd of November 2010 - 04:19 PM ]
Up until now we have been given pre-rendered scenes and clips to show off Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Those clips did have some gorgeous visuals no doubt. I mean look at the studio and publisher for it, it's kind of what they are known for. But in the end, none of that did all that much to show off what we will actually get to control during the game. I also mean really control since the last "Game Play" clip was more scripted scenes than anything. Below is another clip showing off a bit more of what I mentioned we've missed so far, actual game play. Read More…

The launch announcement comes right after news that this week we will see the launch of patch 4.0.3a The Shattering, which will destroy the face of Azeroth forever. Read More…

Review: DJ Hero 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 18th of November 2010 - 07:50 PM ]
Here we go with another rhythm game coming into the mix of things. Pun totally intended. The game this time is DJ Hero 2. The follow up and expansion on from last year's DJ Hero that let gamers hop into the world of "professional" DJing. Like every other title in the rhythm genre there are some new additions outside of the core track list. Some good, some not so good and some just kind of "What The F**k?" Let me break it all down for you and let you know if you should actually pick up a copy of DJ Hero 2. Read More…

BioWare Teases New Title For VGA's *UPDATED 12.06*
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 17th of November 2010 - 04:27 PM ]
Well it looks like BioWare is at it again. According to a recent commercial spot for the Spike TV VGA's on Dec 11th, BioWare will be announcing their next big thing. What is it? Well we currently have no idea. I can tell you one thing it's not Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Why is that you ask? Well the picture below which, was posted on numerous official BioWare Twitter accounts, gives me a more Mass Effect feel. Possibly Mass Effect 3? Read More…

APB Finds A Buyer And Re-Launching In 2011
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 16th of November 2010 - 06:12 PM ]
Two months ago the company known as Realtime Worlds announced that the First-Person-Shooter-MMO All Points Bulletin was shutting down, and being laid to rest. Many people fought to get their money back, and EA was pretty cool about the whole thing. Not knowing if it would ever be revived, rumors started flying that companies around the globe were looking at buying APB and its fate was held in the balance. Well it looks like the California based GamersFirst and its subsidiary company Reloaded will resurrect APB early next year. The question stands, will it have a better launch than it did its first time around? Read More…

Splatter Kills Galore In Splatterhouse
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 15th of November 2010 - 05:55 PM ]
Splatterhouse is going to be violent. There is no doubt to that at all. Queue the question… But how violent is it? Well if you look below, you can get a view of some of the new shots of some of the "Splatter Kills" in the game. These are some of those over the top finishing moves that Rick will be performing at your behest. These apparently are the mild ones too as some have been rumored to cause dry heaves in the developer's studio. While I am sure that Splatterhouse's special and stylized kill moves will be awesome and unique, I have doubts that they will have the same effect on us desensitized gamers. Read More…

New L.A. Noire Trailer May Make Or Break You
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 12th of November 2010 - 09:31 PM ]
Heavy Rain was my first real endeavor into the "crime drama" genre of video games. I am talking real crime drama style here as well. After watching the below trailer for L.A. Noire, I think I might be making the jump back into a genre that has only caught my eye once. While there is not much given away, I will say that it looks to be an intense experience with some crazy events that will transpire. It is RockStar after all. Also another thing to note, just like the previously mentioned Heavy Rain, the facial and character movements seem to be pushing the envelope. Read More…

It's On Like Donkey Kong... You'll Have To Pay To Use It
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 12th of November 2010 - 04:24 PM ]
What do I mean by that? Well it looks like Nintendo has filed with the U.S. Patent&Trademark Office to actually trademark the phrase "It's On Like Donkey Kong." Yea… All because of the new Donkey Kong game coming out for the Wii here in the coming weeks. It's like they see people using that phrase more in all forms of media because they are cashing in on gamer nostalgia again. It only took them almost 30 years to actually do this. Honestly, what do they plan on getting from this? Read More…

The Heavens and Earth have been divided and the darkness has taken over. Send in the holy crusaders to help purge the land of all things evil and open up the pathway to Heaven and God.
