If you're a fan of Rock Band, like me, then you should know that there is a crap load of songs for DLC. So many in fact that over the past week they broke the 4,000th song mark for their franchise. Harmonix has announced the full set list for the upcoming Rock Band Blitz. Rock Band Blitz is the first game to ditch the plastic instruments of past games in the series. If you don’t know what to expect from Rock Band Blitz it’s a beat matching game much like Amplitude or Audio Surf. Below is the full set list of 25 songs that will come with the game. Today Harmonix gave us an update on next week's DLC. We have two new tracks from Foreigner, "I want to know what love is" and "Waiting for a girl like you", which is cool, everyone loves Foreigner. But what really stuck out was the third song, a song by the symphonic power metal band: Nightwish. With their song "Amaranth" off of their 2007 album "Dark Passion Play" This is the first Nightwish song to become available on any Rock Band or even Rock Band Network. Definitely an interesting track they picked, there are a lot of different styles of songs for Nightwish, mainly because they go through lead singers like water. If you guys don't already know I am an avid Rock Band player. I started playing rhythm games when the first Guitar Hero came out, and I've been playing ever since. Over the years I have sunk a lot of money into the DLC, at the moment I have two-hundred and thirteen downloaded songs and I wish to share my favorites with you guys. Hopefully I can persuade you into buying a song or two. That's right ladies and gentlemen - Rush's twenty minute long epic "2112" is finally coming to Rock Band. The masterpiece will be available for download on December 31st. PS3 and XBox 360 users will have the option to either purchase and play each song separately or get the whole twenty minute "eargasm" as one song. So here we go again. Another rhythm game comes to the market, only this time it is one that is truly trying to innovate the genre. I am talking in more ways than just trying to add new ways to play songs in the way of four guitars or adding challenges to earn more points and "stars." Though we already knew that Rock Band 3 was adding in a new instrument and a "Learn To Play Real Instruments" mode, it's how they went about it that changes the genre. We are getting closer to the launch of Rock Band 3 every day. That is the way time works. It also seems with each passing day some new bit of news about the keyboard peripheral show up, or at least gets rehashed with the guise of being new. Well, it's been a while since Rock Band got a bit more country in their song selections. Harmonix and MTV Games have announced a nine track pack of country songs for all the country fans out there. Yes, that includes myself. What? You've never seen an Asian with a southern accent before? Anyways, the songs will be available for the PlayStation 3, XBox 360, and for the Nintendo Wii on August 31, 2010. Here are the songs you will be getting for this pack. This year at E3 had us taking a sneak peek at what was coming to Rock Band 3, including 22 of the promised 80+ songs set planned to be released. Green Day Rock Band is a steady mixture of what you love from Harmonix – play style that is both easy to jump into and addictive  – and what you hate about Activision’s Guitar Hero franchise – it feels repetitive and old.  With Rock Band 2 a couple years past and Rock Band 3 on the way, it raises the question of how annual they expect to make the franchise and still get people to pay for it.
