Why So Serious?
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 23rd of October 2012 - 10:27 PM ]
I think the Joker summed up the past few years of video games quite well, with his famous saying "Why So Serious!?" It seems that today's industry has dropped the light-hearted and comical games of yester-years for a more gritty, hardcore, and serious tone. While I'm not saying these "serious" games are bad, I am saying that a break from them would be much appreciated. Video games are not all about world wars, political sabotaging, or saving the world from a cliché ultimate evil. We came from a very humble beginning, a beginning of stomping on weird brown monsters, using rainbows to squash bugs, and controlling fat pink things that suck up anything in their path. Read More...

Overstrike Is Now Fuse
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 11th of September 2012 - 06:30 PM ]
Overstrike, a four player co-op game developed by Insomniac Games and Published by EA has had its name changed recently. Yep, Overstrike is now called Fuse, with a recently released teaser trailer that gives an extremely dark vibe over the funny, light hearted trailer released at last year's E3. I'm not too concerned with the darker trailer simply because it's a teaser. If it was a full length trailer that had eliminated all of the light stuff and was completely serious, then I would have had an issue. I guess I am just experiencing shooter fatigue because just about every FPS and Action game that has come out recently has been super serious. Read More...

QuakeCon '11 Incoming
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 3rd of August 2011 - 04:19 PM ]
Let's start with "What is QuakeCon?", or as it has been known since 1996, the Woodstock of PC/LAN gaming. Hands down, one of the largest LAN parties of our generation. A celebration of all things Quake-oriented and bringing LAN gamers together onto one giant network. A gaming marathon that one will never forget from August 4th to 7th. Although, with so many gamers in a single location, and hosted by some of the biggest names in the business, (id Software, Bethesda, Insomniac, and Respawn) were bound to get some great news out of this event. Also a very interesting note, this event is 100% FREE to players! Read More...

Review: Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time
by Ben Brody [ Wednesday, 4th of November 2009 - 01:59 PM ]
Ratchet and Clank has enjoyed a really good run these past 7 years, and A Crack in Time is a great cap to the "future" series. In what may be the final game in the series, Ratchet must rescue Clank from Dr. Nefarious (the villain from Up Your Arsenal, the third game in the series). Before we get in to deep, let's get a quick glance back at the Future trilogy thus far. In Tools of Destruction, an evil tyrant named Tachyon set out to revenge against the Lombax's for destroying his race. This is the first hint we get that Ratchet isn't the last Lombax in the galaxy. Ratchet and Clank Return to PS3
by Jesse [ Thursday, 26th of March 2009 - 10:58 PM ]
“The Quest Continues in Fall 2009…” This was the phrase that teased a coming sequel following the end of Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty. Today we know exactly what those words mean. Okay so maybe we don’t know exactly, but at least there’s a title. Insomniac Games unveiled the logo for their upcoming R&C title Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time. Though there aren’t any details at this time, I’d say it’s safe to assume we’ll see A Crack in Time tie in with the previous two R&C games. One interesting point though is that the title logo looks to be cut from a larger image. Read More...

Resistance: Retribution Multiplayer Just in case you couldn't get enough of Chimera killing online at home, just sit still for the PSP version to be released out for ya. It isn't too far away.
