South Peak Interactive was on hand promoting the upcoming hack & slash game, entitled X-Blades.  It’s developed by Gaijin Entertainment & TopWare Interactive, and features a scantily clad main character, named Ayumi.  The basic premise of the game is a button masher with an attractive female protagonist.  I had been looking forward to this game for a long time, so I will share my impressions of the game with you.   It was a very easy game to pick up and just jumping in and having fun killing the monsters. Many great new games are coming out this upcoming holiday season and fortunately for me, I had a chance to play some at this year's Penny Arcade Expo (PAX). One of the must talked about games, Left 4 Dead (L4D), was available to play at Valve's booth. Throughout the whole convention, the L4D booth was packed to the gills with people eager to kill some zombies. EA's survival horror space shooter Dead Space, which was supposed to come out on Halloween night (October 31st), has now been pushed forward. Earlier today EA stated that the console versions of the game would be hitting store shelves on October 24th, a full week earlier than originally announced. Sure, we are finally seeing a small break in the ridiculous gas prices but that doesn't mean anyone in their right mind would turn down free gas. EA games hears your plea, they care, they really do. Much anticipated Valve game, Left 4 Dead, has been pushed back until November 20th. At least this is still in time for the holiday season, so you can eat your christmas cookies while blastig zombies away. At least I know I will be! "Left 4 Dead is going to be released on the tenth anniversary of Half-Life, our first game," said Newell. "That will be on November 20th, the third week in November." If you're like me and own a copy of The Orange Box for 360, you're probably upset that the PC version gets all the good updates. But alas, Valve is finally bringing all the updates delivered via Steam to the Xbox Live Marketplace. New class-specific Achievements, new unlockable weapons for the Pyro, Medic and Heavy, new gameplay modes and new maps. Sega is hard at work to make you beautiful. The gaming company has teamed up with the make-up powerhouse Shiseido to bring women and men a personal beauty consultant. Project Beauty will be hitting shelves in Japan on November 27 on the Nintendo DS. The game will be used with a scanning device that will take a digital image of the players face and feed it into the DS. After scanning your face you will be put into one of four groups; Cool, Active, Cute or Feminine. You then have the option of the game telling you what's best for your particular face or you can decide for yourself by mixing and matching different colors. Read More...

Valve announced today that there will be a "Heavy Update" in TF2 next week. it is said to be "the largest update to Team Fortress 2 since it was first released". It will bring with it new maps, new Achievements, new game modes and a special installment of the "Meet the Team" video series. In Gears of War 2 news, the people of Epic seem to really understand their audience. Epic loves us for exactly what we are, a bunch of achievement whores. Now while some people may be above spending time going through games solely to raise their gamer score, most of us are not. Epic has created a whole new type of achievement system, called "linked" achievements. Linked Achievements occur when someone obtains an achievement in the first game(Gears of War), this then unlocks new content in the second game(Gears of War 2).
