Space MMO Not Star Trek Or Star Wars
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 20th of February 2009 - 09:20 PM ]
NASA Unveils New Online Game Given the fact that the American Space Program has been failing, at least when it comes to the government side of things, there has been little to no excitement about going up into space. I mean can you remember the last time we launched anything from our own country (America)? Most likely not. Most of the memorable launches have been either the ones that explode or the ones that do a first for space. Read More...

Screens Of Godliness
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 20th of February 2009 - 06:19 PM ]
More Screen Shots From God of War III With the big media event that happened recently for God of War III and the new extended trailer being launched, it would seem that Sony is ready to start the huge marketing scheme for this game. Which I will not complain about at all. Except that we will all have to wait until after this year's E3 show to get a up close and personal look at this game. They are going to be showing it off in all of it's glory there. But until then, we can all ogle Kratos and the game with the little things like the below screen shots. Read More...

Wii DLC for the Week of 2/16
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 19th of February 2009 - 02:15 AM ]
A little late is better than never.  The next batch of Wii DLC hit this past Monday with one Wii Ware title and one Virtual Console title.  There is a surprise wrapped up in the update this week if you're crafty enough to piece together the clues.  A good luck to all our super sleuths and to those who continue to have patience waiting for Earthbound to drop... Outer space meets inner space at the Wii Shop Channel this Presidents Day. A new WiiWare title will have you soaring across the astral plane, while a vintage NES shooter for the Virtual Console invites you to battle your way through the innards of an alien creature. by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 17th of February 2009 - 06:14 PM ]
BlizzCon® 2009 Announced You remember the craziness of BlizzCon last year? The tickets going on sale and being sold out in minutes. The cool swag that people, who were able to go, got to walk away with. The cosplay. Well there is some good news for those who didn't make it. Blizzard just announced the dates for the next BlizzCon that will be taking place in Anaheim. The 21st and 22nd of August. That is pretty much all that they have thrown out there, at least as far as solid full details. Read More...

FEAR 2 Review
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 17th of February 2009 - 02:28 AM ]
What's scarier than a little 7 year old girl just absolutely tearing people apart? Nothing, that's what. FEAR 2, the true sequel to FEAR, comes to us from Monolith and is hands down one of the scariest games ever. Dead Space, Silent Hill, and Condemned are given a run for their money with Alma, the girl previously mentioned. The game starts out about 30 minutes prior to the ending of the first game and puts you in the shoes of Sgt. Michael Becket, a Delta Force member who was mentioned in the first game as apart of a team assigned to bring Genevieve Aristide and put her into protective custody, which is the first mission of the game. Death Is In My Blood
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 13th of February 2009 - 06:35 PM ]
New God Of War III Footage We have been tantalized and teased with small clips from God of War III in the past few months. To no end. Leaving fans drooling like hungry Cerberus for more. Well today, Sony has released some more game footage as well as information about the game. Still no release date given, but with what has been given, one can't be anything but excited. These two new videos aide quite well with this. The first is the extended, like 3 minutes extended trailer for the game. Read More...

Gamer Valentines For The Season Sometimes us gamers are not the best at expressing the way we feel to those we stalk love. We can't all be Casanova. But we do luck out when Singles Awareness Day rolls around when someone else goes out of there way to hook us up with some great way to let that special prey one know. In fact, if you look below, I've complicated a small group of some game inspired cards that you can send while sitting outside of their home in your car thinking of that special person. The best ones I found are from Left 4 Dead and Starcraft II. Read More...

Mario & Sonic Going Olympic Again
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 12th of February 2009 - 03:47 PM ]
In an age of sequels and cashing in, it is no surprise that Mario&Sonic will be returning to the Nintendo Wii and DS later this year.  Already leaked two days ago, today Sega and Nintendo jointly announced the great duo's return to Olympic competition.  I am sure that also returning with this installment will be a lot of waggle and sore arms.  The press release mentions use of the balance board which will be an improvement for certain, but here's hoping they also implement Wii Motion Plus for more accurate gameplay.  No screens or gameplay as of yet, but you can view the trailer now on their launch site. Hades Fight!!!
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 11th of February 2009 - 04:46 PM ]
First Real God Of War III Details A little while back a cover shot of the new Game Informer magazine was 'leaked' onto the net. Well not really leaked, but more given to tease the big article in the magazine, God of War III. One of the more anticipated games in my opinion. No it is not a humble one. So you can guess it has been much waited for, the new Game Informer. Well someone has received their copy early and decided to post scans of it on line. Read More...

Hudson Releases Official Website for Onslaught
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 11th of February 2009 - 10:24 AM ]
Last week Hudson Entertainment released screen shots on Onslaught, hailed the first First Person Shooter on WiiWare. Now, they have finally pulled back the curtains on the official Onslaught online page. The new, flashier vehicle now provides more insight into the story, wiimote and nunchuk button layouts for both foot and vehicle movement, small weapons and vehicle layouts and some finer details on on-line play. Yes, folks I had to re-read the website myself, Hudson is promising on-line co-op and ranking system for up to 4 players. The “Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Free Battle” seems promising as you can play with friends from around the globe. Read More...

Wii DLC for the Week of 2/9
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 10th of February 2009 - 01:11 AM ]
It is Monday again, so time for Nintendo to continue their download strategy of not rushing too many titles to WiiWare or the Virtual Console. Thus giving you plenty of time to "clean your refrigerator" and make room for these two titles.  Nothing says gear up for Valentine's Day like a horror puzzle game and an old-school arcade shooter.  So, grab your Wii Points and let the love (or a hail of gunfire) into the air. No matter what you've got planned for Valentine's Day, the latest additions to the Wii Shop Channel have what it takes to get your heart pounding. Read More...

Epic Considering Rank Change for Gears 2
by Sam [ Sunday, 8th of February 2009 - 07:55 PM ]
Epics Rod Fergusson made a post in the Gears of War 2 forums about a "proposed rank change", hopefully making the rank system more experienced based whenever a third update comes out. Fergusson writes ""What if, instead of skill rank, we instead showed your experience level." And over at Kotaku explains how it would work:• Experience would be acquired through individual performance in public mutliplayer. The experience would be balanced according to game times, so you couldn't level faster on the respawning game types. • Levelling would not be a fixed amount for each level, but a progressively higher amount for successive levels, ("like a typical RPG. Boldly Moving Further
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 3rd of February 2009 - 09:54 PM ]
Cryptic Studios Has Some New Star Trek Screens It's been a while since I have posted on this new MMO, the Star Trek one for those who skip the header or don't get my phrasings. But any ways. I checked on their site and found some newer screens for our collective viewing pleasure. The weird thing is that they kind of look like in game art as well as concepts. Like the one with the ship bashing through a moon or planet. But take a look. Read More...
