Bethesda Is Going To Show You The Evil Within
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 19th of April 2013 - 09:05 PM ]
Given all the horror and evil in the world right now it seems perfect time to announce Bethesda and Tango Gameworks' new title The Evil Within. This is what the Bethesda has been teasing with the Vine clips they have been posting. You can see the full announcement trailer below if you are finished with being teased. So far, details are extremely sparse on TEW. Outside of the announcement and following images, the only other concrete detail is that it is being helmed by Shinji Mikami. Read More...

Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag - Game Play Trailer
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 28th of March 2013 - 11:19 PM ]
Earlier this month we had the official announcement of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag with not much to go on other than the time period of the story and the culture it is based around. During the reign of Blackbeard and pirates for those who are just now following along. No matter which you are, we now have a bit of game play from Black Flag and it looks like Ubisoft is trying to focus on the naval combat that debuted back in ACIII not so very long ago. It also looks like we will get to punch sharks in the gills during underwater scenes of the game, so there is also that. I'll be honest; I have yet to actually play AC III nor any of the 'spin off' titles that launched alongside so I have no clue how well or poorly this new mechanic actually handled in the games. by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 20th of March 2013 - 10:52 PM ]
The guys over at 4A Games have just released a new trailer for the upcoming Metro: Last Light. This trailer features a lot of Neo-Nazi's, executions of civilians, and a little surprise at the very end. For those who don't know, Metro: Last Light and Metro 2033 are based off the international best seller by Dimitry Glukhovsky. The Metro franchise takes place in a post-apocalyptic Russia where a nuclear war has ravaged the entire earth forcing humanity to live underground. But they're not alone. Read More...

Assassin's Creed IV Accidentally Then Officially Announced
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 4th of March 2013 - 07:45 PM ]
It has been made official; Assassin's Creed IV is coming just about a year after AC3 has landed. It was originally rumored with the below trailer teasing it last week, but since the cat was let out of the bag it looks like Ubisoft isn't keeping it hidden any more. The video is now to be considered the official announcement of AC4 along with the release date of November 1st 2013. That adds another title to the PS4's launch lineup it would seem. Now for the interesting part, it looks like Ubisoft is breaking from the theme of traveling forward in history with each new AC title as we will be playing during the time of Blackbeard. Read More...

Now That We've Had Some Time, Let's Talk PS4
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 26th of February 2013 - 01:45 AM ]
It's been a bit of time since Sony held its huge press conference where the PS4 was officially announced. They let loose the proposed specs for the new machine as well as a quick look at the Dual Shock 4, new services, and a few games that will be coming this holiday season. With the announcements comes a bit of wonder and excitement, as I am sure Sony wants, but should we blindly follow along and get ready to drop upwards of $600 this November? I've had some time to reflect and let the initial excitement subside, so let me bring up a few things I took away and pondered on. If for some reason you missed it, as I did, you want to check what I'm talking about, or you just don't care for the words and just want to watch it again, the video is below. Read More...

Sony's New Patent Could Put An End To Used Games
by Greg Tatterfield [ Friday, 4th of January 2013 - 06:52 PM ]
Used games have been a sore spot with game companies for a long time now. For most gamers used games are a great way to save money or play a game that they may have missed. However If Sony has anything to say about it this trend may be coming to an end soon. Sony has filed a patent for a new technology that will block used games from being played on Sony's consoles. The new system works by reading a tag embedded on the game disk and then linking to the player ID and the user’s console. After the tag has been linked to the first console that the game was played on any future attempt to play the game on another user’s console will not work. Read More...

New Metro: Last Light Trailer
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 11th of December 2012 - 10:28 PM ]
The guys over at THQ and 4A Games have released a new game play trailer for Metro: Last Light. The trailer has the main character, Artyom, reciting a passage from the Christian bible. I believe the passage is Genesis 1:1 to Genesis 2:3. The passage explains how God created the earth in six days and then rested on the seventh. But enough about religious mythology. Let's talk about how amazing this game looks. Read More...

Review: RVBX
by Fred Buell [ Thursday, 29th of November 2012 - 12:01 AM ]
I recently got the chance to sit through the whole 10th Anniversary box set of Red vs Blue. It consists of all 10 seasons of this superb show and to top it off each season has been re-cut into feature length style with no breaks and remastered with surround sound. Sometimes after shows have been around 10 years, as RvB has, it doesn't age well. I can assure you this is not the case here. The show is just as funny now as it was when it first launched online 10 years ago. Read More...

Review: Halo 4
by Matt Waitt [ Friday, 23rd of November 2012 - 05:30 PM ]
Sorry for taking so long to let this review finally see the light of day. I played Halo 4 a bit differently for my first time and my co op partner was busy for a week or so. As I write this my hands are shaking as if my nerves have been shot, my heart rate sits at a steady rate a bit above normal, and my head is racing with countless thoughts and ideas about what I had just witnessed. Also, my butt is numb from sitting for so long. I got a bittersweet taste in my mouth. Read More...

Under The Radar: Games You Might Miss
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 11th of September 2012 - 10:33 PM ]
There have been a couple games that seem to have fallen off the face of the earth due to huge triple-A title, half assed updates and leaky faucet info dumps. So I thought it would be a good idea to refresh your memory on some games that might have fallen off of your radar. First up we got what seems to be a love letter personally sent to me. I'm talking about Hell Yeah! Wrath Of The Dead Rabbit Hell Yeah! Read More...

See The Destroyed World Of Metro: Last Light Like I Have
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 24th of July 2012 - 10:20 PM ]
While I am sure that my words painted a perfect picture of what to expect in Metro: Last Light I can totally get that you all want to actually see what I was actually talking about. In my E3 impressions I included a few short looks at the demo I was shown, but 4A Games and THQ have finally supplied us with a full, un-edited version of the demo I was shown. Take a few minutes and try to get the full experience. There we go and much better than the bit shown before. Read More...

E3 2012 Impressions: Metro: Last Light
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 12th of June 2012 - 07:23 PM ]
Some may not know that while at E3 to see some of the titles you are interested in you sometimes have to sit through demos or presentations of games you have no interest in or may have barely heard of. This was the case for me, but it lead to a spectacular showing of Metro: Last Light. I had little to no clue about this horror FPS, outside of the live action trailer (see below), except that it is the sequel to Metro 2033. This was good going into the demonstration as I was able to view it through 'virgin' eyes. So the game play started out like one would expect of any FPS title. Read More...

Mircrosoft E3 2012 Press Conference Recap
by Matt Waitt [ Tuesday, 5th of June 2012 - 05:42 AM ]
If you missed the Microsoft E3 2012 Press Conference, then you didn't miss much. Here's a recap of the event. It started off huge and quickly went downhill. A game play demo of Halo 4, for some reason it reminded me of Metroid Prime. A game play demo of Splinter Cell: Blacklist, which features Kinect voice support. New trailer for the upcoming Gears Of War: Judgment in 2013. It is a prequel. Read More...

New Halo Anniversary Trailer Says What's Old is New
by Matt Waitt [ Wednesday, 19th of October 2011 - 02:07 PM ]
A new "BTS" or "Behind The Scenes" trailer has been released for the upcoming Halo: Anniversary. The trailer shows off a lot of new stuff such as Skulls in Campaign, as well as Kinect and 3D support. I was previously on the fence for getting Halo: Anniversary, but after watching this trailer, I can honestly say I'm 100% sold on this. The aforementioned were not the only improvements, now there is easier navigation through the Library. Many of you perhaps remember - as I did - getting lost hundreds of times while the flood eats your face. Read More...

World Of Warcraft 4.3 Dungeons Part 1
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 22nd of September 2011 - 06:42 PM ]
So being a regular player of World Of Warcraft, I thought it would be good to give you guys some info on the new dungeons and raids coming in patch 4.3: Dragon Soul. Now I do have mixed feelings for WoW but the lore is what keeps me coming back for more, the stories told in Warcraft are vast, grand and epic rivaling and even surpassing the stories that started the fantasy genre. Without further adieu here are some goodies for you guys. The Great Dragon Aspect; Nozdormu The Timeless has devised an unorthodox and highly dangerous strategy along with Thrall and the other Dragon Aspects to finally destroy Deathwing once and for all, and they need your help.
