Review — The Alters
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 3rd of July 2025 - 09:00 PM ]
Alters We sit down and review The Alters. A survival game that questions how a single choice can change a person. Here is our review of half of The Alters It is time to play all by myselves here with the launch of The Alters out there on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A new survival game that 11 Bit Studios has been working on for a while, and after much of a wait, was able to deliver. One that will take us to a terrible planet with all manner of harsh things to deal with. Not only that, but The Alters is also setting us up to ask some deeper questions along the way about how our lives could be completely altered by making one little choice. Read More...

by Raymond Bruels [ Friday, 13th of June 2025 - 05:00 PM ]
Universal We take a day out to Universal Studios to check out the limited run of Universal Fan Fest Nights 2025 It is no secret that I love Universal Studios Hollywood, which is why when the first advertisements for their Fan Fest Nights 2025 were advertised, I leapt at the opportunity to secure tickets. It also coincided well with my first anniversary, and my wife is a diehard Back To The Future fan. Talk about kismet. Read More...

Review — Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
by Cody Killebrew [ Wednesday, 4th of June 2025 - 09:00 PM ]
Clair Obscur We sit down and review Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. A true French JRPG game that most did not see coming. Here is our review of half of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 A true French JRPG game, both in the sense that it was developed by a French company, Sandfall Interactive, and in the sense of a throwback to when JRPGs were turn-based rather than action RPG oriented. While Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is turn-based, it keeps the player engaged during enemy turns by incorporating some active elements into the turn-based system, namely that of Dodge and Parry. With successful Dodging and Parrying having more impact beyond the immediate, such as a counterattack with an individual character, or the entire party for enemy attacks that strike the whole party, if you successfully parry all attacks in the attack pattern, as well as potentially gaining more Action Points for your next turn on each character. Review — Carmen Sandiego
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 11th of April 2025 - 07:00 PM ]
Carmen Sandiego We sit down and review Carmen Sandiego. The Crimson Criminal is back and teaching us all a bit more about the world. Here is our review of half of Carmen Sandiego The Carmen Sandiego IP is certainly one that has been around for a while and holds a place in so many hearts out there for those who have been gaming since the 80s when the original title dropped out there. A solid way for kids to learn about the world and other bits of history from HarperCollins Productions and then spinning off into so many other titles and media as well. One might be hard-pressed in the modern age not to know about the IP or the titular character. Read More...

Review — Lost Records: Bloom & Rage [Tape 1]
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 28th of February 2025 - 10:00 PM ]
Lost Records We sit down and review Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. A new narrative from the masters out there, even if this is only the first half. Here is our review of half of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage The kids on bikes trope is never able to stay down and that is on display again with Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. While not specifically that trope with the bikes, it is a whole new narrative game from DON’T NOD that takes us back to the '90s with a group of teens getting into a supernatural adventure. All while learning something about themselves along the way. Read More...

Review — The Casting Of Frank Stone
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 4th of October 2024 - 09:00 PM ]
Frank Stone We sit down and review The Casting Of Frank Stone. A narrative take on a new Killer out in the Dead By Daylight universe. Here is our review of how Frank Stone plays We have taken some time to marinate with The Casting Of Frank Stone and now that we are here for the Halloween season, it is time to give you our thoughts and review of the game and experience. Especially as this is a spin-off from one of the other horror classics that Behaviour still has running with Dead By Daylight. This is a massive tone change in gameplay as it is more on the Supermassive Games side of design, which might have been a turn-off for many of the diehard fans out there. Read More...

TV Review — Star Wars: The Acolyte [Some Spoilers]
by Raymond Bruels [ Thursday, 18th of July 2024 - 05:00 PM ]
Acolyte Star Wars: The Acolyte: The Power of Many… Missed Opportunities. Here are my thoughts on The Acolyte (Warning – spoilers!) So, the last episode dropped and after eight weeks of slogging through Star Wars: The Acolyte, I figured it is time to share my thoughts on the show. Overall while I did not care for the series, there were aspects of this show I did appreciate. There has been a lot of online hate leveled at the show, its cast, its writers, and its showrunner Leslye Headland. Some of the complaints I agree with, while others I think are nitpicking and prompted by statements that Headland and Stenberg have made. Read More...

Review — Capes
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 26th of June 2024 - 07:00 PM ]
Capes We sit down and review Capes. One more take on superheroes, in a new world, and with some fun turn-based functions. Here is our review of Capes In a time when superhero media is all over the place and having a hard time giving us something new, Capes jumps out there in the mix to give it a shot. This would be the latest title from Spitfire Interactive and Daedalic Entertainment that is aiming to give us some of that while also mixing the turn-based gameplay too. This is something we have seen to a point, but Capes is going to try to stand out like others have in the past. Read More...

Review — The Outlast Trials
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 16th of May 2024 - 09:00 PM ]
Outlast We sit down and review The Outlast Trials. A multiplayer survival game that places back into the darkness of the IP. Here is our review of this remake for The Outlast Trials The Early Access has ended and The Outlast Trials is out there on the PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. This would be the next big push into the IP from Red Barrels that takes us further into a multiplayer aspect of it all and not the solo horrors we have had from before. All while expanding the lore and terror of it all and giving us many new reasons to keep going back for all of this punishment. Read More...

Review — Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons Remake
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 12th of April 2024 - 09:00 PM ]
Brothers We sit down and review Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons Remake. A new way to experience this dark & deep story. Here is our review of this remake for Brothers In an era of remakes and remasters, it is always nice when we see some of the under-appreciated titles show back up as we did with the Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons Remake. A title that caught my attention a while back when I enjoyed the original version and now we have Avantgarden coming back in to bring us the same story and fun but with all of the other upgrades that we have had over the last decade. It has been a while since we were able to join these brothers, so that is why we were glad to jump and take it for a spin one more time. Read More...
