Here We Go Again, WoW Rejected In China Again
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 4th of November 2009 - 03:45 PM ]
And here we go again, the General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP) put a hold onto NetEase's request for World of Warcraft to be approved in China. This has been an ongoing battle for some time now. The9's license agreement with blizzard expired this year and was won by NetEase in April of this year. NetEase had a three year agreement for World of Warcraft only to have there application "passed up" due to "violating the rules". Here's the problem, The9 had this game in operation in china for four years, count 'em four years. Read More...

Blizzcon 2009 Day 2
by Binh Nguyen [ Friday, 28th of August 2009 - 07:34 PM ]
Day 1 came and gone in a flash... of light. From the opening ceremony to shopping around to visiting many of the booths to the Costume, Dance & Sound A-Like Contest at the end of the day, I was wearing out really fast. For Day 2, I knew I had to plan out what I needed to do and the time to do it in. As I rolled into the convention center, again I saw the nerds, geeks and dorks in line waiting for hours to be one of the first to get into the convention center. As I waited in line, I talked to those around me. Read More...

Blizzcon 2009 Day 1
by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 24th of August 2009 - 06:01 PM ]
Never have I been in a place where I have seen so many nerds, geeks, and dorks in one area. Oh wait, yeah I have, as E3 and Comic-con were the other places. Just in case you didn't notice, Blizzard held their now annual event, Blizzcon, at the Anaheim Convention Center on August 21st and 22nd. Thousands of nerds, geeks, and dorks all gathered to see, play, and talk about Blizzard's 3 main franchises; Starcraft, Waracraft and Diablo. Friday morning, as I arrived to the convention center the first thing you would see are the nerds, geeks, and dorks waiting in line. Some of which stayed overnight to be one of the first few to get into the center. Read More...

She's Baaaack!!
by Binh Nguyen [ Friday, 14th of August 2009 - 03:09 PM ]
With World of Warcraft's 5 year anniversary coming up, Blizzard is releasing another content patch, numbered 3.2.2. What is the big change? Nothing major but to bring back the biggest bitch of the game, Onyxia. Why Onyxia you may ask? Well she was the most iconic beast in the game when the game was still fresh and new. One of the hardest Raid boss to take down, even when a group of 40 players would have a tough time taking her down. On August 12th Zarhym one of the Blues in the forums announced that for the 5 year Anniversary of the game that Onyxia will be converted to a 10 and 25 man raid. Read More...

World of Warcraft: Oh how you can send a community into a frenzy just by leaking a tiny bit of information. WoW.com is reporting that, through multiple sources, they have discovered the name of the new World of Warcraft expansion as well as the new races that will be populating Azeroth. This new data leak comes two weeks before Blizzcon. Where I am sure they were going to announce something along these lines. The new expansion name will be called World of Warcraft: Cataclysm and the two new races will be Worgen for Alliance and Goblins for Horde. Read More...

StarCraft II Delayed... Again
by Binh Nguyen [ Wednesday, 5th of August 2009 - 11:25 PM ]
Anyone else surprised that the beta for StarCraft II hasn’t even started yet? Well are you going to be surprised that officially StarCraft II is delayed till 2010? No? Well neither am I. According to G4TV and an ominous e-mail from Blizzard PR, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick announced the delay by saying, “StarCraft II is now scheduled to be released in ‘the first half of 2010’” The delay is linked to the revamped of Battle.net in which players will be using for the multiplayer portion of the game. So all of these years and you cannot get Battle. Read More...

This wonderful app will finally allow players to view character information (gear, achievements, specs..etc), talent calculators, item browser, in-game calendars, glyphs, guild listings, arena team status and much much more. Peggle: World of Warcraft
by Binh Nguyen [ Wednesday, 8th of July 2009 - 04:31 PM ]
Isn't there a add-on for Peggle to begin with? I believe there is.... *goes and log-on to his WoW account to make sure* ...yeah there is. So why is this so important? Well it's because its not an add-on but an actual game outside of World of Warcraft. 10 World of Warcraft stages for all your Peggle goodness. This includes backgrounds from Blizzard artists, compete against a friend or PC in Duel mode, Quick Play levels anytime you want to hone your Peggle skills, and add to your Peggle Master rank with super-extra-hard challenges. WoW Turncoats On The Way
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 30th of June 2009 - 04:33 PM ]
WoW Faction-Change Service in the Works When I first started playing World of Warcraft, I chose the Horde side of things. Big surprise with the Horde having undead huh? But, all of the real world people I knew who played loved the Alliance side of things for some reason. Which left me either having to worry about leveling two toons, forcing them to try Horde, or giving in and being bored with the Alliance. Didn't make it good for my continuation of the game. Things may be changing now. Read More...

All thing Blizzard! No support for LAN?
by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 29th of June 2009 - 09:48 PM ]
How did StarCraft become so popular when the game first came out? Well that's simple. It was because Blizzard made it easy for everyone to have LAN parties. Well that is not the case with StarCraft II according to incgamers.com as they interviewed VP of Game Design Rob Pardo of Blizzard. Pardo stated, "We don't have any plans to support LAN." Then flat out said, "we will not support it and only multiplayer available will be on Battle.net. Read More...

It is beginning to look a lot like XMAS
by Stephanie Naboshek [ Friday, 19th of June 2009 - 08:50 PM ]
It's no secret that Blizzard has been playing around and changing dates for the epic release of Star Craft II. Well great news for fans. In a recent interview with the Swedish Press2Play.TV, Star Craft II looks to be having a Holiday release at the end of this year if things are "ready". "We don't like to ship our games unless they're ready, but we're trying our best to get it out before the end of the year" Blizzard admits. "But it's inevitably up to the fans to tell us when it's ready." When asked about the Beta, Blizzard didn't give a direct response but they did say "We're not years away... Read More...

by Brian Bentley [ Friday, 29th of May 2009 - 05:20 PM ]
Respawning, reset, restart and resurrection, second chances all gamers know about and stand loyally with against the tides of gaming oppression.  As Binh mentioned in his story here, fans of Blizzard Entertainment are now getting a second chance to attend Blizzcon.  Fans of Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo and some game called World of Warcraft (you’ve probably never heard of it) will now be able to purchase tickets online tomorrow starting at 10am PDT, most likely crippling the Internet with the surge of activity as they clamor for the chance to attend the spectacle that is Blizzcon.  Battle.net is the source for your ticketing needs, but if you’re unsuccessful tomorrow, you can always watch it on Pay Per View.
