Social Networks PWN Porn
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 17th of September 2008 - 03:15 PM ]
Social Networks Now More Popular Than Porn We can all agree, the internet is for porn. Well at least according to a little song performed on Broadway. But that may not be all that true anymore or at least in the not to distant future. According to a researcher and author Bill Tancer, he wrote Click: What Millions of People are Doing Online and Why It Matters, the number of searches for the coveted reason to log online and use the magic porn box is down. Like down 10% since Al Gore invented the Interwebs. The short and simple, it use to be 1 in 5 searches were for porn where as now it is 1 in 10. Read More...

Price Drop on the 360 for the UKers?
by Andy [ Saturday, 13th of September 2008 - 04:03 AM ]
So it seems that Microsoft/Woolworths has decided to drop the price for all of you UKers. This isn't 100% positive until the actual flyer comes out of course, but it would definitely make sense that they did, considering they dropped the price for the US and Japan. So now all of you who thought the xbox was too pricey may have to speak another tune. Hell, if you have an old version, you might as well upgrade to a nice elite. Read More...

Get A Private Game Tutor File this under some crazy-ass-bull-shit. At least I think so. Pretty much, it takes all the fun out of actually playing the game or games just to be a master of them. What is this madness I speak of? Game Trainer has just started up that offers in-game tutoring sessions online for a bunch of the today's most popular games. All for the small amount of $30 an hour. WHAT!? Read More...

X-Blades Hands On @ PAX '08
by Michael Camacho [ Thursday, 4th of September 2008 - 09:38 PM ]
South Peak Interactive was on hand promoting the upcoming hack & slash game, entitled X-Blades.  It’s developed by Gaijin Entertainment & TopWare Interactive, and features a scantily clad main character, named Ayumi.  The basic premise of the game is a button masher with an attractive female protagonist.  I had been looking forward to this game for a long time, so I will share my impressions of the game with you.   It was a very easy game to pick up and just jumping in and having fun killing the monsters. LittleBigPlanet beta coming real soon
by Sam [ Thursday, 4th of September 2008 - 03:53 PM ]
PS3 owners may just get a chance to beta test the upcoming game LittleBigPlanet early this month. One of the devolopers on the Playstation Message Board, Sam_Protagonist, let everyone in on the details.     In terms of LittleBigPlanet, the game itself is all but complete however we're looking to run a test of the sharing, uploading, downloading and multiplayer server side of the game before it launches to ensure that under a large number of users it does everything it is supposed to. This kind of testing is often referred to as a Stress Test, however we're looking a little more deeply into the game experience than simply throwing thousands of players at the online side of the game at the same time. So, here's all the information you need regarding LBP's test. Read More...

Left 4 Dead Hands On
by Andy [ Wednesday, 3rd of September 2008 - 11:48 PM ]
Many great new games are coming out this upcoming holiday season and fortunately for me, I had a chance to play some at this year's Penny Arcade Expo (PAX). One of the must talked about games, Left 4 Dead (L4D), was available to play at Valve's booth. Throughout the whole convention, the L4D booth was packed to the gills with people eager to kill some zombies. You may hate me after I say this, but I got to play it 2 hours in advance of the general public. But don't hate me too much as I wouldn't have been able to play it otherwise. Read More...

Pwned.com's Gaming Night Schwag Contest
by Michael Camacho [ Wednesday, 3rd of September 2008 - 12:47 AM ]
After going to the various conventions and expos, we at Pwned.com realized that we have a lot of schwag we picked up.  The items include posters, toys, buttons, stickers, demos and more.  Instead of hording all of this for ourselves, we are giving back to you, the members of the site.  We had quite a few ideas of how to give this stuff away, some ridiculous, some too much of a pain in the arse to do.  We finally came up with the idea of combining the contest with our Pwned.com Gaming Nights. Zero To Hero In No Time Flat
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 2nd of September 2008 - 08:02 PM ]
1-60 in 20 minutes Ok, so at first when I read about the new WoW level a friend thing, I kind of thought that the day of traditional PLing had gone away. This is true and false after further reading, like 8 or 9 times to get what they were trying to get at. Which is cool, but not all that cool. Pretty much, any new player you refer to the game, they can grant a free level for every two they gain themselves. That is, new player is level 2, can give 1 level to a character of the person that recruited them, as long as the person gaining is lower level. So pretty much, the old player can take the new player out to level up to 60. Read More...

Saints Row 2 Hands On @ PAX '08
by Michael Camacho [ Tuesday, 2nd of September 2008 - 01:37 PM ]
After playing the first Saints Row for more hours than I can possibly count, I’ve been extremely excited since the announcement of Saints Row 2 coming in 2008.  After one delay, which has pushed the game back to October 14 2008, I about lost my mind.  But I would not have to wait that long to at least get a test run, and this is where PAX 2008 comes into play.    After a short five minute play through during the media time on Friday, I knew I had to get back and play the full first mission of Saints Row. Sunday, I got to finally get a full session in and take in the experience of Saints Row 2. Read More...
