There is a new tech demo that shows off an augmented reality system in the works call RoomAlive from Microsoft I remember not that long ago that Microsoft was using the Kinect to create a form of Augmented Reality in our living rooms. The project was called IllumiRoom for those who don't remember or have a strong Google-Fu. The idea behind it would be that by using the Kinect and a video projector you could expand out the screen of your game to add an extra level of immersion. The Kinect would 'scan' the area to get a digital mapping of your play space so that the projector could properly display no matter the contours or set up of anyone's living room or gaming space. A new trailer for Far Cry 4 has been released by Ubisoft to show of a bit more of the personality of Pagan Min from the game Villains are always the most interesting characters and Pagan Min of Far Cry 4 is quickly shaping up to be that way. Especially since the recent trailer for the game that highlights a bit more of how the character acts and possible motivations has been released. In the past we've had a bit on the character including all the fun controversy that surrounded the original announcement but I think what we have here could just put a pin in making him one of the most interesting in a while. A new gameplay video for Far Cry 4 shows us all the fun things we are going to get to do with Elephants during the game I am a huge fan of getting new fun facts every day and it looks like Far Cry 4 is filled with them. At least if you believe everything that is stated in the latest gameplay video for the game that Red Storm and Ubisoft have released into the wild. Heavenly Sword has been given the CGI film treatment and we've had a chance to sit down and check it out. A new trailer for Let It Die has been released in the preempt to the Tokyo Game Show and it has a bit of gameplay mixed in If there was one trailer that confused the heel out of me at E3 this year it was Let It Die from Grasshopper Manufacture. Near the end of last week Deep Silver and Occupant Entertainment announced that a Dead Island film adaptation is in the works Time to hear the resounding cheers and jeers for the announcement of a Dead Island film. Yes, it looks like we may be getting a film adaptation of Deep Silver's largest zombie themed game. The first Dead Island has sold over 8 million copies of the game to date so it seems like it would be a perfect time to rake in more dough on the franchise. The film adaptation for Heavenly Sword will be released on September 2nd for all to enjoy Back in February we had our last look at the CGI film version of Heavenly Sword. Today we are greeted with a new trailer that explains a bit more of the story for those of you who have yet to play the game. HEXO+, a Kickstarted camera accessory, has been funded and it looks like it is making that Razer April Fools' joke happen If you remember back in April, Razer made a joke about a drone that would film all of your life events and even make you feel like you were in a video game. That was the joke but it looks like with the HEXO+ Kickstarter almost reaching its last stretch goal with 15 days to go, we are getting just that device. While the HEXO+ wasn't originally designed for that purpose the first two stretch goals would allow for just that; a live video playback on your phone and the ability to set up specific angles. Insomniac Games has announced that they are experimenting with the open development process with a new 'indie' title Slow Down Bull We've seen a bit of "open development" with other studios but it looks like Insomniac Games is giving it a go with Slow Down Bull. By open development I am talking about how some studios have been live streaming the process or conducting Google Hangouts to get gamer feedback as they move forward in the process. This is just the case for Slow Down Bull as it will consist of a team of four to five members of the Insomniac crew making this little PC title over the course of "until it is done". Remedy Entertainment has given us a tease for Quantum Break with nothing more coming until Gamescom in August So everyone seems to be announcing everything just before E3 or, in the case of Quantum Break, telling us that there will be nothing new until a later date. In the case of Quantum Break that would happen to be Gamescom in August this year. Not too far off but for us State-side that means that most of us will have to be remote to see what Remedy has up their sleeves for us for the game. A pre-order page for Far Cry 4 has let loose some details surrounding the story of the game. Well that didn't take too long before something was 'leaked' for Far Cry 4. Granted it isn't much but at least it is safe to assume that it is accurate and not a rumor considering the source. The source being the pre-order page on the uPlay website for Far Cry 4. Can't get any more solid than that unless this is all one big Ubisoft troll to promote Watch_Dogs. I wouldn't put it past them to state that the site was "hacked" as part of a promotion but seeing as you can only view the below content on a cached version of the site I think that may be a bit far-fetched. Ubisoft has announced that Far Cry 4 is coming and coming as soon as November this year. So we've had The Division delayed but now we have the announcement of Far Cry 4 to pick up the slack this year. Maybe this is what was meant by not wanting to compromise quality for The Division? None the less though it looks like Far Cry fans will have the next installment of the franchise to look forward to on November 18th 2014 on their PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, or PC. If Ubisoft had their way there would be an 'and' instead of the 'or' as you would be picking up Far Cry 4 on multiple platforms. We get all hands on with Boot Hill Heroes. Here is our experience with the game. Experimental Gamer showed off the second part to their RPG trilogy Boot Hill Heroes at PAX East this year. They initially started this back in 2012 by Kickstarting the first game reaching a goal over three times the goal amount. With successful funding the series has been moving rapidly beginning to pan out from the PC download to Xbox Live, PSN, and Steam. While of the three platforms only the PS Vita currently has access Xbox Live Indie is in the works with Steam awaiting the Greenlight. Read More...
