Aggrocast Episode Ninety Four: DLC Evolution and Expectations
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 22nd of February 2012 - 11:14 PM ]
The Aggrocast returns to its roots with the typical format. Matt, Corey and Brian first talk up what they've been playing - including Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Tiny Tower, Rock Band 3 and Final Fantasy XIII-2. Care / Don't Care this week moves to a shorter four-question format, tackling some recent news from the world of gaming. The segment ends with an important discussion about the situation revolving around Jennifer Hepler (from Bioware). Our main topic focuses on downloadable content (DLC) - where it originated, how it has evolved and how our expectations have changed over the recent past. Read More...

Aggrocast Episode Ninety Two: Coming Soon Q1
by Brian Bentley [ Wednesday, 1st of February 2012 - 04:54 PM ]
Episode 92 of the Aggrocast takes a different route as Corey and Brian are left to their own devices, which means the episode goes off the rails in the first couple minutes. All kidding aside, the guys go into what they've been playing including Puzzle Quest 2, Tiny Tower, Final Fantasy XIII, and Dungeon Defenders. There is no Care / Don't Care this week, but we still drop a Community Spotlight on Pwned Game Nights. The main topic for the episode revolves around Brian and Corey breaking down the major release schedule for the rest of the first quarter of 2012. Read More...

Hey…Come Check Out The New Visuals For Final Fantasy XIII-2
by Irene Collazo [ Thursday, 1st of December 2011 - 11:28 PM ]
Damn. You step away for a holiday and that's when everyone bombards you with new screens and video for their new game. I mean it's not like Final Fantasy XIII-2 is a huge game or anything so why all the hype over the holiday. Wait… It is…? Well shit the bed. Who would have thunk? Ok, joking aside now. So if you look below, there was a cornucopia of new visuals filled with new characters, monsters and some of the menus system. You know all the stuff any of us fans out there would be chomping at the bits, like the leftovers in the fridge, for. Read More...

It's About Time For Some New Final Fantasy XIII-2 Stuff
by Irene Collazo [ Thursday, 25th of August 2011 - 10:30 PM ]
Isn't it about time that we got a slew of new screen shots and such for Final Fantasy XIII-2? Not to mention a narration from the game's developers for the trailers that have been show to us in the past. Wouldn't that be a nice little update for the day? I think it would be, so I guess I'll do just that for you below. There is nothing too revealing on anything here except further proof of Square Enix doing an amazing job with visual effects in their games. As if we didn't already know that. Read More...

Final Fantasy XIII-2 Looks Amazing Even Without The Dress Sphere
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 30th of June 2011 - 04:21 PM ]
I swear that Square Enix has sold their souls to someone other than me. When it comes to making games look amazing, they are by far one of the leaders in video game visuals. Almost to the point it has to be supernatural. Try and name one of their Final Fantasy titles that did not look cutting edge for the time. I find that a difficult task, so I'll move on. If you have not skipped on to see the new screen shots yet, I thank you. Read More...

Please No Dress Spheres In Final Fantasy XIII-2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 20th of January 2011 - 07:44 PM ]
Well here is an interesting twist to the whole Final Fantasy XIII ten year plan. Just announced is the oddly named Final Fantasy XIII-2, a continuation to the story of FFXIII. I say it is odd because Square Enix tried this before with FFX-2 which didn't do as well as any of their wholly new story lined titles with Final Fantasy in the title. Yes I know I used the title way too many times there. Sue me. Read More...

The Sights Of Final Fantasy XIV
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 7th of July 2010 - 06:59 PM ]
We got a release date for the game and a view of what the PC box will look like, but what about an update on what the game looks like. We haven't had a good one of those since around the time of E3. Am I right? Of course I am. Well let's take a look at some of the new creatures to kill and environments to come to us this September 30th. Having had actual hands-on with the beta of the game, I can assure you that what you see below is what the in-game will look like; if you have a system that can handle it. Some of the creatures look a bit new, but I will say I am a fan that they went back to the original look of the Bombs. Read More...

Finally A Date For Final Fantasy XIV
by Binh Nguyen [ Thursday, 1st of July 2010 - 03:56 PM ]
The fantasy is back and it is never final as Square-Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XIV will have a global PC release date of September 30th. For those who will get the Collector's Edition, they will be able to access the game eight days prior to the Standard Edition. The prices for the Standard and Collector's Edition are $49.99 and $74.99, respectively, which is really not that bad for what they offer in the Collector's Edition. Read More...

E3 2010 Hands-On: Final Fantasy XIV
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 24th of June 2010 - 03:04 PM ]
Now here is a title that I was overly excited to get to look at, and that is all I planned on happening this year at E3. Little did I know we would actually get to play hands on this up-and-coming bad-ass "sequel" in the Final Fantasy franchise. Hands-on with two of the major components for an MMO to boot: the character creation and a bit of the combat system. Let me break them down into two sections for you, with pictures. At least screen shots since pictures were not taken too kindly in the sectioned off tent in the Square Enix booth. Read More...
