Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week We can finally put a pin in this week for video games and everything else we had going on during the week. Mostly it was video games, but there was the "fun" of trying to get hotels for SDCC in the mix too. Painkiller Get armed up with the weapons of Painkiller as we see them all on display while we still wait for the launch of Painkiller With a name like Painkiller, one would expect there to be all kinds of fun weapons and ammo to cause some extra pain out there in the world. That would be my easy assumption for it all and it looks as if Anshar Studios and 3D Realms have seen it the same way. They see it the same way that they are dropping a look at the various weapons we will use in Painkiller to unleash all the hell out there and try to make it back out of purgatory too. DOOM More of that sweet DOOM gameplay is out there as we see a new realm we will get to explore in DOOM: The Dark Ages The thoughts that DOOM: The Dark Ages was going to start to dip into the Lovecraftian horrors out there seem like they have merit now. That is, id Software is finally here to show off a new realm that we have yet to see in any game and it will be touching a bit more on that cosmic horror that the other genre is known for. Here we go with the DOOM Slayer entering into the Cosmic Realm when the game launches on May 15th for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Outlast The trials are picking back up in the world of Outlast as the next season of content is here for The Outlast Trials The doors have been opened up and the next wave of trials are finally here for those brave enough to go back into The Outlast Trials. Project Relapse has kicked off and Red Barrels has added much more than just the usual stuff to keep us all in check and going through the various tests to survive all manner of pain out there. The Jaeger being one of the bigger additions, with it being a new stalker in the maps out there. One that is going to hone in on one target and keep going until it is dead. Read More...

SCP The SCP universe is further expanding by the fans with the announcement that we have here for the upcoming SCP: Control Error Those looking for more of a player-driven title out there, then you might want to drop SCP: Control Error on the radar of titles coming to the PC out there. This is the latest that Chieftain Artworks and Goonswarm Games are working on to give us yet another experience in the world out there. It is a weird one, to say the least, but given that it is not held by a single developer and publisher, it is one that can always be evolving. Once Upon A Puppet The launch of Once Upon A Puppet is finally here and we have one more push to get us all into Once Upon A Puppet We are finally at the day where the story begins and we can start to make our way right through Once Upon A Puppet. Not that we are not going to have the full story by the end of it all with Flatter Than Earth and Daedalic giving us the full game today (April 23rd, 2025). We are getting just that, but it does sound like there is much more to the story than we have been led to believe for Once Upon A Puppet. Directive 8020 It is time to start meeting the crew for Directive 8020 as we get a few more looks into the horrors Directive 8020 will throw at us It feels like we have so much time from now until we will get to see what is going on in Directive 8020, with October 2nd still so far away, but that does not mean we cannot all enjoy more for the game. Like, in this instance, getting to know the characters we are going to help guide through the horrors that Supermassive Games will be placing us all in. Star Wars Another Star Wars title is on the way to us all with the recent announcement we have here for Star Wars Zero Company A new team is on the way to get things done with the latest announcement that we have here for Star Wars Zero Company. A new title in the works for the universe coming from Bit Reactor and Respawn Entertainment when all is said and done. This title will move us away from the usual high-action and fast-paced lightsaber swinging of the many other games out there and place us all into a fun new turn-based tactical game. Not everyone's cup of blue milk, sure, but a nice change of pace while also offering up a look at more of the Star Wars universe than is usually put on display out there. Read More...

Star Wars Star Wars Outlaws is getting its second story pack released out there soon to further expand Kay’s story in Star Wars Outlaws The story of Star Wars Outlaws is getting further expanded for those who have the Season Pass of content or are willing to drop a bit more for the game. Things are wrapping up with what Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft are working on, and the second story part to the expanding universe is now on the way. Mario Kart Drive on into the latest for Mario Kart World as we see how this Mario Kart title will offer up so much more for the IP than before Even though many of us are still trying to figure out how to get a Nintendo Switch 2 before the June 5th launch, we still have some great looks at the upcoming Mario Kart World that will be launching alongside the console when it does come. As the title indicates, it is the next and latest version of the racing IP that we are going to have. Outlast Season three for The Outlast Trials is on the way and it looks like the Outlast universe is going to win out just a bit more Well, if you thought escape from The Outlast Trials was going to be a thing, it looks like those thoughts need to be put to rest. Not only because the story of the game is placing us back in the mix of things, but because Red Barrels is bringing us all the third season of content for the game. Not just in the way of a new enforcer or more cosmetics to pick up and decorate with. Into The Fire Go further Into The Fire with some extended gameplay that we have for the upcoming title Into The Fire Those who thought fighting fires might be too intense in real life will soon get a chance to see how it can go down in the upcoming Into The Fire. That is not to say that Starward Industries is working on a firefighting simulation for the PC with this title, but that is going to be a bit of an aspect to it all. That is based on the gameplay we have for Into The Fire to share with you as we wait for the full game to come out and see if we have what it takes to fight off all of those little fire demons out there. That is not a metaphor either, as you will see we will be fighting of some real demons in the mix of things while also doing what a good firefighter would be doing in some chaos like this. MindsEye A little more to the story for MindsEye is here along with a fun new look at the world MindsEye will be giving us all to play in There have been some dabblings of the story before with MindsEye, and now we get to dig in and see just a little more as we wait for the game to fully launch out there. A date that IOI Partners is still holding fast is June 10th and allowing Build A Rocket Boy a bit more time to get this single-player action title fully worked out. It also offers up a lot more time for us to get some solid teases for it all in the mix as we figure out if MindsEye will be a title for us all to experience on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC when the date rolls around.
