EA Sports at E3 had announced a new MMA game to be released in 2010. Well EA just recently held a press conference for there new EA Sports MMA game. Randy Couture was there to announce that he has signed an Exclusive deal to appear in only MMA games created by EA. As this is MMA and not UFC there really is no conflict of interest. Render Of Hades By the Gods, the more that is pumped out in the God of War fankits, the more and more excited and giddy I get. First it was Kratos and Zeus and a slew of screen shots and background shots for the game. This was all before the good hands on the public got a Comic Con in San Diego. Something that was great to wet our whistles. But this isn't where they were going to end with these kits, and thus good renders of characters and high res images. The PlayStation 3's price that is. While North America might not see a price drop til September 8th, prices of Sony's oft-maligned console have fallen €100 across many European stores. The PlayStation 3 Slim may be coming and this may be a way of attempting to clear out current inventories of old dusty 80gb's. That said, an upcoming ad in a recent American retailer (who shall remain nameless) states that the price of the 160gb PS3 will drop to $399.99 raising questions as to where the hell the price of the 80gb is heading. But when you’re dealing with cosmic radiation, sometimes you just have to play with the cards you’re dealt with. At the age of 16, Johnny went along with his sister Susan as a member of the crew for Reed Richards’ experimental interstellar ship. Today is the 20th Anniversary of the launch of the Sega Genesis (Mega Drive) here in North America. I’m sure you’ve seen plenty of articles on the birth and rise of the Genesis, its bitter fight against Nintendo and the eventual downfall with the addition of the Sega CD and the 32X. Most of them are tongue-in-cheek, which is unfortunate. Here is a humble recollection of a console that I never owned until recently. With World of Warcraft's 5 year anniversary coming up, Blizzard is releasing another content patch, numbered 3.2.2. What is the big change? Nothing major but to bring back the biggest bitch of the game, Onyxia. Why Onyxia you may ask? Well she was the most iconic beast in the game when the game was still fresh and new. One of the hardest Raid boss to take down, even when a group of 40 players would have a tough time taking her down. On August 12th Zarhym one of the Blues in the forums announced that for the 5 year Anniversary of the game that Onyxia will be converted to a 10 and 25 man raid. Read More…

EA Sports's Madden NFL 10. The Best Madden Ever In years past (especially between 02 and 08) the annual Madden has been seen as somewhat of a roster update, however, Madden NFL 10 is something I've not experienced before: an ultra good looking, ultra realistic football game. Madden NFL 09 was a step in the right direction, with better graphics and new animations, however Madden 10 is a giant leap in the right direction, such a big leap it may have just landed where it needed to be. In years past, Madden has been hampered by a lack-luster graphics system that was essentially a beefed up PS2 engine. Textures were hi-res and the detail was there, however player models and the overall stadium experience was still fairly sixth generation. Read More…

Multiplayer: The Book Burning Generation The other night I was driving home at 1 am with the God of War soundtrack playing in the car. As the game music, with mixed in audio clips from the game, was playing through my car speakers, I began to think on how truly epic the story of this game was. Not epic as in awesome, even though it is, but more in lines of how it actually fell in line with the Epic writings of the Greeks. Think the Odyssey and Iliad for what I mean. Normally when I write a new installment for this series I tend to focus on a specific video game that I would like to see come to fruition. For the next two weeks though I’ve decided to change it up a little and discuss more general subjects. This week I’d like to discuss downloadable content with next week shifting focus to collector’s edition. Both are areas of video gaming that have become staples over the last few years and both have given us distinctive examples of what works and what doesn’t work. We’ve seen so many DLC packs and limited edition releases that I think you could create a perfect stencil that every developer and every publisher should follow because it would deliver the best extension of a game every time. Remember the old school days of MUD's and serious 2D MMORPG action (where we learned to grind XP like a champ). One of the original MMORPG's is about to realease it's 8th expansion pack! Recently Ultima online released the 7th expansion Mondain's Legacy for free as a part of the game client, probably for players to get jazzed for the new expansion. The 8th expansion Stygian Abyss is due to be released September 8th 2009 and will include new features, dungeons and epic boss battles. The new expansion also brings along the long awaited Gargoyle class and a brand new larger than life dungeon. Read More…

All offered by the game's Lead Designer, Manveer Heir, over his Twitter account in the early hours of the morning on the 11th of August. The film was directed by Juan Carlos Pineiro Escoriaza and produced by Victor Pineiro Escoriaza and Peter Brauer. The synopsis from the site reads: “Second Skin takes an intimate look at three sets of computer gamers whose lives have been transformed by online virtual worlds. An emerging genre of computer software called Massively Multiplayer Online games, or MMOs, allows millions of users to interact simultaneously in virtual spaces. Dante's Inferno: Gluttony Developer's Diary Continuing down the path of Hell from Lust, Visceral Games keeps with their fun and dark developer's diaries. This time they cover the third level, Gluttony. A level that should be as gruesome as the scene from Se7en and starts to look that way with some of the concepts they show in the video.
