Review of Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures Episode I: The Fright of the Bumblebees
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 24th of March 2009 - 10:47 PM ]
Telltale Games has a formula for success and this time they have added a British compound to their already stellar lineup of point-and-click, episodic games (Sam&Max, Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People).  Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Adventures begins its four episode run today with “Fright of the Bumblebees.”  Wallace and Gromit are the main characters of a British animated series developed by Nick Price of Aardman Animations.  Using stop-motion clay animation, the series depicts Wallace, an absent-minded inventor, and his silent, faithful companion Gromit. Save the Date
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 23rd of March 2009 - 06:13 PM ]
VGXPO Tickets On Sale Now Who doesn't like to save a buck given the state of the economy right now? Am I right? It has been dwindling a lot of gamers resources to make it to huge gaming events or conventions just in general. CES wasn't as big as it usually is, and I'm sure that this will kind of be the case all conventions over. But that isn't what I am going to drawl on about here. No. Read More…

Scratch: The Ultimate DJ Game Trailer Now that we have all had a chance to perfect Guitar Hero or Rock Band, here starts the next new wave of at home rhythm games to get us all itching to be the best. Get an Early Taste of Guitar Hero Metallica
by Sam [ Saturday, 21st of March 2009 - 09:19 PM ]
Xbox Live users who are fans of both Guitar Hero and Metallica can go on the Xbox Live marketplace and download the newly uploaded demo for the upcoming Guitar Hero Metallica. The demo features four playable songs, two of which are Metallicas, the other two are by Alice and Chains and Queen. The track list goes as:No Excuses - Alice in ChainsSad But True - MetallicaSeek and Destroy - MetallicaStone Cold Crazy - QueenThe demo also features the ability to create your own rockstar character like in Guitar Hero World Tour, but seeing as it's the demo it's kind of pointless to have.If you're thinking about buying this game and are wondering what kind of songs to expect, below is the full track list of every song in the game. There's quite a lot of personal favorites of mine on there such as Master of Puppets. Read More…

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Unveiled
by Jesse [ Wednesday, 18th of March 2009 - 07:57 PM ]
Once again, Japan’s Famitsu magazine has released a bombshell with news of a Ninja Gaiden 2 port coming to the PlayStation 3. Yosuke Hayashi, the producer and director of the first Ninja Gaiden Sigma will be reprising his role in what is said to be not just a direct port, but an upgraded version of the original. Among some of the new additions to the game are a new weapon as well as all new battles against giant bosses. Perhaps the most interesting feature to be included in the game will be the ability to play as Ayane. Read More…

Be The Overlad!

FIRST OVERLORD™II GAMEPLAY VIDEO Evil is as Evil does, or something like that. With Codemasters' new Overlord game coming this Summer, it looks like they are going to give us all the chance to put that age old adage to the test. At least it looks that way from the new Game Developers vlog that Codemasters just placed out there, with some fun looking screen shots from the game. All of which are below. They are quick to point out that they don't think that the first game allowed for you to be as evil as many wanted to be in the game, so they added a new system to the game to make that available. OutRun Online
by Kevin [ Wednesday, 18th of March 2009 - 01:04 AM ]
For American Xbox 360 owners, and European PS3 owners, June 30th is going to bring a gem to the arcade scene of Live and PSN. It's OutRun Online, an online speed-fest based on OutRun 2006, with 15 courses, and support of online head-to-head play for six players. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ou1fJ6CoRcIOutRun has long since been a favorite of mine and I would say it, arguably, influenced many other games in the genre with its approach to racing. If you aren't familiar with the series, it will be a great time to get aquainted. It's looking pretty good for an arcade title. Read More…

Wii DLC for the Week of 3/16
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 17th of March 2009 - 01:01 AM ]
Taking the path down to Retro-land has many twists and turns...some more expensive than others.  Another Commodore 64 game was released this week on the Virtual Console and it is a good one: Summer Games II.  I very fondly remember going over to my friend Jason's house and booting up the C-64.  Not as fun to me as Winter Games, Summer Games II gave you the thrill of sport on an international level we had hardly seen before.  I have some great nostalgia for this game, but I'm not paying 500 Wii Points for it. Talk About Being Effed Out
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 16th of March 2009 - 10:46 PM ]
HOUSE OF THE DEAD: OVERKILL BREAKS [AN EFFIN'] RECORD FOR THE GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS GAMER'S EDITION Now this is a feat if I say so myself. Not the getting into the Guinness World Records book, especially since there is the Gamer's Edition. That would make it kind of moot to say that a game made it in. But in this instance, it isn't just making it in, it is the reason behind getting listed in the book. It is an effing awesome reason too. Read More…

Valve Spanks "Bad" Servers
by Brian Bentley [ Sunday, 15th of March 2009 - 02:12 AM ]
Announced in the Team Fortress 2 blog, Valve has begun a process that will be de-listing servers they deem as "bad."  Using number of connections and player time on the server as the main factors in judgment, they calculated a score for each server and those servers in a certain block (my guess is a percentage), were removed from the master server listing system.  Password-protected and low-use (less than 200 connections) servers were excluded from the search and destroy mission.Once again Valve is making owning one of their software titles a treat and a vacation from released garbage put on shelves only to remove $50 or $60 from your pocket. Four Decades Of Evil
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 12th of March 2009 - 09:45 PM ]
Resident Evil Retrospective Episode 6 Just in time for the North American launch of the game comes the final part to the recap of the franchise that Game Trailers put on for us all. Leaving us with, in my opinion, one of the best recaps of a franchise I've seen in a while. Biases aside from the franchise, this 22 minute clip covers damn near everything that has ever gone on in the franchise. This whole final recap is a history, in order of events, from all of the main games and story of Resident Evil. Leading all the way back to 1966 when the founders of Umbrella found the Progenitor virus to do basics tests. Read More…
