Review — ADR1FT
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 11th of August 2016 - 05:00 PM ]
ADR1FT We sit down and review ADR1FT. A new exploratory title that shows us some great fears of space. Here's our review of ADR1FT When I first saw ADR1FT I was under the impression it was just another serene space adventure that was a "paint by numbers" kind of design. Then as Three One Zero kept giving us more and more to look at the game evolved and looked like it was becoming truly unique all its own. Now that 505 Games has released the game we have had a chance to play and review ADR1FT in all of its forms outside of just watching nice little trailers. Here's our full review and thoughts on just how the game played and felt along the way. Read More...

Two New VR Titles, Feral Rites & The Unspoken, Are Coming Soon
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 18th of April 2016 - 07:00 PM ]
Feral Rites Insomniac is working on two more VR experiences, Feral Rites & The Unspoken, for the Oculus and both Feral Rites & The Unspoken looks to bring us something completely new Fresh off their most recent amazing release it looks like Insomniac Games has two more games/experiences for us later this year in terms of Feral Rites and The Unspoken. Both of which will be titles for the Oculus technologies and feature very different forms of gameplay and experiences. Of course that would be the case and if it wasn't for the fact that all of the news broke together we would have wasted your time talking about Feral Rites and then go into a whole other posting about The Unspoken. Another ADR1FT Gameplay Video Shows Off How Serene Space Is
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 19th of February 2016 - 10:00 PM ]
ADR1FT A new ADR1FT video has been released just after the release day announcement and it is more accolades for ADR1FT than any true showing Earlier in the month it was confirmed that ADR1FT would be getting its PC release on March 28th and the console version would be soon after. Three One Zero has been working hard on making the game the best VR experience to have and it has impressed quite a bit. That's why I find it odd that it took so long after the initial announcement for 505 Games to give us the trailer talking about said praise for ADR1FT as well as extra the release date. I guess again, beggars can't be choosers here and we should just be thankful. Read More...

CES 2016 Hands On — Oculus Rift & Oculus Touch
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 11th of January 2016 - 06:00 PM ]
Oculus While at CES 2016 I was able to play with the Oculus Rift & Oculus Touch in a more intimate setting than just a video. Here's my take on the Oculus Rift & Oculus Touch Obviously one of the big items around CES 2016 was the Oculus Rift; especially since it went up for pre-order and all of the new details cropped up just at the beginning of the show. That of course led to a whole lot of debate on if the Oculus Rift was going to be worth the $600 price tag out the door or if it was going to be another overpriced gizmo with a lot of buyer's remorse. This led me to take over the job of checking out the hardware of the Oculus Rift and Oculus Touch controllers to see if the price point made sense for where the system is now or if, like I said, it was something that could be left behind. Oculus Rift The pre-orders for the Oculus Rift are up and running and it looks like we will be getting an Oculus Rift in home by the end of March or early April The wait is now over for the Oculus Rift…to some extent. Pre-orders are now live over on their site and we now have a price and an expected release window for this year. That would be sometime around the end of March or early April depending on who you hear from. As of this writing mine is stating that it will ship in April of 2016 but I have seen others claim sometime in March. Read More...

In The Void Of Adrift Only You Can Hear The Oxygen Leaving The Lungs
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 19th of October 2015 - 09:00 PM ]
Adrift New gameplay for Adrift has made its way online and it shows off a bit of gameplay and what it feels like in Adrift to run out of oxygen I believe this is the first time we have brought the first-person, interactive fiction game of Adrift up on the site before but that doesn't mean it hasn't been on our radar since it was first announced by Three One Zero. For those who don't know what Adrift is, outside of the genre description before, it is a story game that has us in space experiencing what it may be like for those who want to be up there. It is coming to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC with VR support sometime next year thanks to 505 Games for publishing Adrift. Read More...

PlayStation Experience Hands On — Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 9th of December 2014 - 10:00 PM ]
While At The PlayStation Experience I Was Able To Check Out Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes; An Interesting Bomb Disposal Title Coming For The Project Morpheus Project Morpheus was on the show floor for the PlayStation Experience. It had a bunch of different tech demos and early games to help show off how cool the tech could be but one game that got a lot more buzz than anything was Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes. Given the demand of the Morpheus at the PSX the line was doubly huge for Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes but I had a chance to sit down and give this cool bomb disposal virtual reality title a few play throughs. Most were on beginner but I did get a chance to play the higher difficulty. Read More...

This Week In Gaming 3/24/14 — 3/28/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 28th of March 2014 - 11:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming. This felt like the most bi-polar week in gaming news in a long while. It all started out rather slow and then we were flooded with all kinds of new stuff to look forward to. The biggest bit of gaming news being with Batman: Arkham Knight's new character and gameplay mechanics; not to mention the huge purchase of Oculus by Facebook. Cyber stalking to a whole new level if things go as was speculated earlier this week. All kinds of crazy stuff here in the gaming world. Read More...

Looks Like We Will Be Able To Facebook Stalk With The Oculus Rift Soon
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 26th of March 2014 - 09:01 PM ]
Facebook is set to purchase Oculus for around two billion dollars. What does this exactly mean though? It was announced yesterday that Facebook has reached an agreement to purchase Oculus VR, the makers of the Oculus Rift headset, for about two billion dollars. Not all in cash mind you. Only $400 million of that will be in "cash" the rest of the $1.6 billion in Facebook stock. That is all upfront as well as $300 million more is offered if Oculus VR can hit certain milestones that are still yet to be defined at the writing of this article. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 25th of March 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
A new trailer and screen shots for a PC/Oculus Rift title called The Forest have come from the mist. It really reminds me of Don't Starve… Sometimes it really bothers that I miss other amazing looking games like The Forest while covering other titles out there. I am sure it happens all the time as I am just one entity and there is so much going on the wide world of gaming. But I caught it and now it is time to bring you all what I have found and how exciting it looks. So, let us take a look at The Forest. Read More...

Spectre Looks Like Stay Alive But For Real
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 18th of March 2014 - 09:02 PM ]
Here is some new footage of Spectre, a Kickstarter virtual reality horror multiplayer game using the Oculus Rift. Looks like it could be creepy… It's hard to believe that it has only been eight years since the film Stay Alive came out and there really hasn't been a video game made to try and copy it. Even as I write this article I have yet to hear of anything. That was until I heard about a new game called Spectre. Read More...

by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 8th of February 2011 - 09:45 PM ]
This past weekend gave us the 6th beta test for Rift, the latest MMO title by Trion games. Probably one of the more successful stress tests I've seen so far. Now not even 24 hours after the beta closed we get news that an open beta will be available starting next week! New Rift Cinematic Trailer
by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 28th of January 2011 - 06:12 PM ]
With less than 24 hours until the latest Rift Beta ends, Trion Worlds releases its latest three minute cinematic trailer and it looks great. If you haven't heard about Rift yet this is the latest MMO from Trion Worlds coming out March 1st 2011. Rift pits the religion vs. technology in an epic war between two factions, the Guardians and the Defiants. Now we've seen that formula more than once but the kicker here is while you're busy fighting each other another war wages on from the skies as Rifts randomly open around the world and dump big baddies all over the ground to make your life miserable. "Adventure in the world of Telara as either a noble Guardian or techno-magical Defiant and enter a dynamic fantasy where 8 primal forces battle for control in an ever-changing landscape. Read More...
