by Binh Nguyen [ Wednesday, 5th of August 2009 - 11:25 PM ]
Anyone else surprised that the beta for StarCraft II hasn’t even started yet? Well are you going to be surprised that officially StarCraft II is delayed till 2010? No? Well neither am I. According to G4TV and an ominous e-mail from Blizzard PR, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick announced the delay by saying, “StarCraft II is now scheduled to be released in ‘the first half of 2010’” The delay is linked to the revamped of Battle.net in which players will be using for the multiplayer portion of the game. So all of these years and you cannot get Battle. Read More...

The Force Unleashed Once More
by Jesse [ Sunday, 26th of July 2009 - 03:08 PM ]
September 16th of last year saw Lucasarts release the much anticipated Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Right from the get-go, TFU was all about giving players a more thorough Force-wielding experience. Powers like Force Push and Force Lightning could be used in ways far beyond anything we’d ever seen before in a Star Wars game. Following the games release though, Lucasarts supported the title by creating several downloadable packages. There were two costume packs that added several new costumes for The Apprentice, as well as a number of alternate character skins. Read More...

The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition Review
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 21st of July 2009 - 08:25 PM ]
The Secret of Monkey Island has already come out in 3 editions, the floppy version for the Atari ST, Mac, and PC in 1990, the re-release PC version and Amiga versions in 1991, and the much more widely known CD version in 1992 that featured better audio and a new UI. The most recent fourth version, The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition is by far the best. It is available for the PC and 360 and features all new graphics as well as brand new voices recorded by the cast of Curse of Monkey Island (aka Monkey Island 3). The music is also redone and was made by the same composer. Read More...

Gaming As A Sport Further Legitimized
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 20th of July 2009 - 10:58 PM ]
Pro gamers' league signs big deal with Electronic Arts Another blow to your mom's nagging about how video games will never get you any where just flew onto the scene. EA and Major League Gaming have just penned and signed a new deal hooking up EA as a major sponsor for their gaming tournaments. Something that will totally draw more than their average 600,000 people they get now and 5000 to 7000 that show to the live events. Not to mention to bring some big pull with EA Sports and other franchises under their belt now being added to the list of titles to be played for cash and prizes. With the first major event starting at the end of next month. Read More...

Just to refresh those who have been living under the rock, Star Wars: The Old Republic is a new MMO done by BioWare and LucasArts in which the time period takes place 1000 years before the rise of Darth Vader. Now with that being said, BioWare and LucasArts have released their 3rd Video Documentary for the upcoming MMO. The Ultimate Gaming Wishlist
by Jesse [ Thursday, 16th of July 2009 - 06:33 PM ]
Last week when I was discussing the changes I would make for the upcoming Smackdown vs. Raw 2010, I got to thinking about another annual franchise that’s due to hit store shelves soon. NHL 10 is perhaps the sports game I am most excited for this year and with a North American release date of September 15th the wait has just about two months left. Of course with so little time left until release, it means that all the little things I hope and wish for probably won’t make into the final game. But this is a wishlist and as such I can still dream about what won’t be but might be in the future. Read More...

EA Confirms Release Date For FIFA 10
by Jesse [ Wednesday, 15th of July 2009 - 11:27 PM ]
Soccer fans have been eagerly awaiting the chance to get their hands on the latest installment of EA Sports ultra-successful football (yes I called it football, not soccer) franchise. Today it’s been made official that FIFA 10 will hit store shelves worldwide on October 2nd. FIFA 10 will be available for practically every system from home consoles to PC to handheld systems and Apple’s iPhone/iPod Touch as well as other mobile phones and devices. Unfortunately for PlayStation 2 owners, this will be the final year FIFA will appear on the system which is basically a sign that you should probably go out and buy a PlayStation 3 already. A lot of focus has been centered around improving many smaller aspects of the overall gameplay including an improvement to the A. Read More...

NCAA Football 10 Review
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 14th of July 2009 - 02:47 PM ]
Defenses be damned, offense is the name of the game in EA Sports' NCAA Football 10, their newest iteration of the NCAA football series. With all new game modes and a new presentation, it is clearly the sharpest looking of all, but is it the best? NCAA Football 10 continues the time-honored tradition of only adding just enough to get people to buy the new edition for the new year. Incorrect uniforms, dull (and often inaccurate) stadiums, boring commentary and lackluster audio plague the game, however it has always been that way. The first game I played, a rivalry game between Wisconsin and Minnesota, wasn't a very good first impression. Read More...

EA LOS ANGELES ANNOUNCES THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMMAND&CONQUER 4 At the end of Command&Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, I'm sure you were left with a few questions unanswered. Not as many as you normally have after an episode of Lost, but you still had some. You were also left wondering if they would ever get answered or if you were going to be left hanging. Well EA's Los Angeles branch doesn't want you to wonder about the "Soup That Could Have Been" for ever. Which is why they picked up and are now bringing everything to a close with Command&Conquer 4. Mandalor And His Merry Men
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 8th of July 2009 - 05:28 PM ]
Star Wars The Old Republic - Mandalorians Looks like Lucas Arts and BioWare are starting the campaign to get us all amped for The Old Republic. As they have just placed out a video clip telling the background of the Mandalorians, via a Jedi Star Log and animatics. Telling of their rise and fall and what has become of them currently, also kind of why they have become the bounty hunters that we all know and love from the Star Wars Universe. I have a feeling that we will have more of these in the coming weeks, and most likely covering everything else you can play or kill in The Old Republic. We'll keep you up to date as we get these videos in. Read More...

Release Tuesday 7-7-09
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 7th of July 2009 - 08:53 PM ]
Today is Release Tuesday version 7.7.09 and it brings a few new games into our collection. My favorite (and perhaps I'm a tad bit biased about this) is the Tales of Monkey Island: Launch of the Screaming Narwhal (episode 1). The game keeps its predecessors' sense of humor, adventure, and it's complex-yet-simple puzzles. The original VO cast returns as well, as does Michael Land, who was the composer of the previous games' soundtracks. The game is the first part in five 4-5 hour episodes that will be released monthly. Read More...
