PlayStation 4 Is Getting Real Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 25th of October 2013 - 09:52 PM ]
The PlayStation 4 is even closer to launch now, it's creeping up so fast, and there are already talks about a day one update for the firmware. Not too concerning there as I am sure all of the systems that are being shipped out have been packaged up for a little bit now and the software should be an ever-evolving beast. That's not the main topic here. The main topic is that with the launch coming up one of the 'new' features that we will be allowed to use with the PSN on the PlayStation 4 is the ability to display our real names instead of our gamer handle. Story Time: Killzone Shadow Fall
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 25th of October 2013 - 05:11 PM ]
Here we go with yet another Story Time for and upcoming title. This time we have Killzone Shadow Fall coming for the PS4 here in the next few weeks. Just a small title that is being touted as the Resistance for this generation. As an F.Y.I. Resistance was pretty much the only launch title for the PS3 that was worth the money paid to pick it up. Hopefully this rumor or statement is just along the lines of 'this will be one of the best FPS titles that will be out for launch on the PS4' and not just the best title for launch. Anyways, let's dig into the story of Killzone Shadow Fall with the trailer. Read More...

Review: Beyond: Two Souls
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 15th of October 2013 - 09:10 PM ]
Beyond: Two Souls has finally come out and worked its way into our gaming world. If you've been hiding under a rock and just stumbled upon this review by accident, this is the new title written and directed by David Cage of Heavy Rain fame. Quantic Dream being the developer in case you are in from that angle. Either way, in case you are on the fence about giving Beyond: Two Souls a play or a purchase, I am here again to help you make an informed-ish decision. The Story This is a story about a girl, Ellen Page Jodie Holmes, who is 'different' and refuses to use lip balm that also happens to have been born with an 'entity' or ghost attached to her. Looks Like The PlayStation App Should Be Out Alongside The PS4
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 7th of October 2013 - 09:27 PM ]
A little over two years ago Sony announced a mobile application for users to be able to check all the ins and outs of their PS3. It was only released in the European market to my knowledge. I've looked around and have yet to find anything official in the North American market, but that's not the point. In the coming month when we get the PlayStation 4, we can also look out for a similar and better mobile application to play with in addition to the console. Everyone rejoice? Read More...

Shadow Of The Beast Looks Re-Imagined As Another God Of War
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 23rd of August 2013 - 09:45 PM ]
A little history lesson here. Back in the very late 80's and early 90's there was a game called Shadow Of The Beast that also spawned two sequels. Lesson over. Now in the coming year(s) here we are getting a "Re-Imagining" of the game exclusively on the PlayStation 4. That is really the all the information that has been announced so far outside of the following teaser trailer. Not even a developer and I think it is safe to assume that Sony will be publishing it, but who knows. So let's sit back and speculate based on what we get to see here. Read More...

Here's What We Will Be Playing Day One For The PS4
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 21st of August 2013 - 06:55 PM ]
Just as Microsoft did yesterday, it looks like we have a pretty well rounded list of titles coming Day One-ish for the PS4 when it finally hits homes on November 15th. At first glance it looks like it is a bit longer, 10 more titles to be exact, but there are a few titles there that we've already had our hands on for a while now. Granted, it would be nice to have them all be original titles, but that is just the dream. By no means does this mean that I am not excited for the launch of the new console, but the numbers do seem a bit padded in regards to what will be available from launch. Read More...

PS4 Vs. Xbox One UPDATE
by Greg Tatterfield [ Wednesday, 19th of June 2013 - 11:51 PM ]
Microsoft has just released an update for the Xbox One on their official site. After the fan outcry about Microsoft’s aggressive DRM policies it seems like they have turned over a new leaf. To update my previous article PS4 Vs. Xbox One, here is what is changing with the Xbox One. Always on line no more Microsoft has confirmed that you will not be required to be online to play single player games. After you complete a onetime set up after the un-boxing you will never have to connect with the Xbox servers again just as with the Xbox 360. There is no 24-hour check in required to play your games. See The Next Generation Of Mo-Cap With inFAMOUS: Second Son
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 7th of June 2013 - 05:53 PM ]
Let's add a bit of a break from the E3 trailers and PrE3 announcements for a moment and take a look at how some of the next gen tech is shaping up in regards to motion capture. Since both the PlayStation 4 and inFAMOUS: Second Son are going to be huge things at the event I am sure we will get to see more, but for now let's look at how much detail the new hardware and software will handle the fine movements in a game. Some of these being things that can help define a character's mood without the need of speaking. Pretty interesting even though the main character looks to have a lazy eye most of the time. rain Gets A Story Trailer... Kind Of...
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 3rd of June 2013 - 07:01 PM ]
Back in March we got a look at rain's game play. It was a bit confusing as to what the actual game is about besides an invisible boy running around trying to find/save an invisible girl while invisible monsters chase them and, presumably, try to kill them. I guess it is a good thing that there was a story trailer released to try and explain things a bit better. Let's take a watch and see what rain is all about. So it is still a story about a boy who is turned invisible and is trying to save an invisible girl in a world where it is always raining. Read More...

It's Confirmed! I Can Play Most PS4 Games In The Bathroom
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 29th of May 2013 - 11:09 PM ]
So after the big PlayStation 4 announcement it isn't really big news that there will be remote play functionality between the PS4 and the PS Vita. Hells, they showed that working on stage. You can see that down below if you want a recap on things. What is the big news here then if it has already been defined this is a feature? Well it seems that according to developer sources of Digital Foundry's Vita Remote Play is mandatory for all PS4 titles. This was later confirmed by Shuhei Yoshida (President SCEW Studios) via twitter after a questions surfaced. Read More...

Who Wants To See The Game Play Of Beyond: Two Souls?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 3rd of May 2013 - 06:16 PM ]
Did you missed the Tribeca Film Festival, and in turn the new footage for Beyond: Two Souls? This is most likely the case if you clicked in here to see the new trailer and about 35 minutes of the actual game play. If the reports of Beyond only being an average of ten hours long, that's about 1/20 of the actual game. Isn't that lovely? In the instance that you are one of those "don't want to spoil anything" people, I'll give you a run down on what is touched on in the longer video besides a bit of the story. Read More...

What Exactly Is Going On With rain?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 25th of March 2013 - 11:14 PM ]
It's been a bit since we have heard anything about rain hasn't it? It was announced at Gamescom last year, but that's bee about it since then hasn't it? It would sure be great if we received some kind of update huh? You know things like, what the game is about and how does it handle? Wait? What's this? A new game play trailer fresh off the press from Sony? I'll bite. Read More...

Definite Proof They Are Not Zombies In The Last Of Us
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 7th of March 2013 - 07:05 PM ]
I'll fully admit that when I first saw The Last Of Us back in December of 2011 I was impressed with the visuals but not really the setting or enemies. I believe I harshed on it being another post-apocalypse title trying to cash in on the 'end of the world' scenario that is still kind of all the rage. I mean they even called the creatures 'The Infected' during the initial launch. How were we not supposed to think that this was going to be another zombie type of game. Read More...
