It looks like all of my thoughts from before about the new season of The Tester were about right. Either that or the editors of this teaser thought it would be best to show the entire cast failing and being told they ALL have failed. Here's a title that was announced when the Move controller was first brought up on the E3 show floor. Since then, there has been very little on Sorcery outside of the recent game play videos. You can only imagine how I felt when I saw that Sony was showing this title off in their gaming section at CES. Finally we got to see how the game has evolved and how it will actually play. During CES this year, Sony made more than a few announcements to entice users to not only purchase a PlayStation Vita, but for them to invest the extra $50 and spring for the 3G model. For the unfamiliar, the 3G data will be provided by AT&T. Ever since Sony announced the 3G version at E3 2011, there have been more than a few skeptics as to how useful a 3G version would be. I will be one of the first people to admit that I have remained skeptical on the PlayStation Vita - even after putting hands on to the high-end handheld at E3 2011. The announced price point of $250 for the wi-fi version wasn't even enough to convince me. Then compounded on that the decrease in sales in the Japanese market after launch, I was beginning to believe that I would be definitely passing on the Vita. I'm not going to say that I've been thoroughly convinced here at CES 2012, but with only a month or so remaining until the US launch of the PlayStation Vita, my views have definitely shifted away from doubtful towards probable. At the AT&T Dev Summit this morning, the large phone carrier announced the price structure for the 3G data plans to be offered to owners of the PlayStation Vita who have spent the extra $50 for the 3G-enabled version of the handheld device. Announced on their twitter, AT&T put forth that for $14.99, you can use 250MB of data, while $25 will afford you 2GB. Hopefully it is no big surprise that Sony has the third season of The Tester under its belt. I'm not one for re-makes or "re-imagining" when it comes to video games. I think that it shows a lack of innovation in the industry when developers should really be pushing forward. It is how I feel and there won't be much changing of my mind in this area. So you could only imagine how I felt when I heard that Just Add Water was "upgrading" Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath to be a whole new HD version. As 2011 comes to a close, it's easy to point out that once again the games industry has had an incredible year of releases. So many in fact, it would be simple to say that games pushed in to 2012 are okay because we already have so much to play. While I do not necessarily disagree with that statement, I think about the games already slated for next year that I want to play - i.e. BioShock Infinite, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Tomb Raider and XCOM - and I'm wondering when I will find the time to get into the things that were pushed back from 2011. A couple new trailers for Eat Sleep Play's Twisted Metal have been released, one featuring my favorite character, Mr. Grimm and the other featuring Dollface. The trailers showcase a little bit of each characters back story, a hefty dose of heavy metal and some sweet, sweet game play. I grew up playing the original Twisted Metal games, so seeing one of my favorite childhood franchises come back guns blazing in a hail of fire and bullets makes me crack a smile across my face, ear to ear. The first trailer is Mr. Grimm, who is a different person from the last installment (Twisted Metal: Black) but is just as cool, showing us some of his signature weapons like the "Flame Saw" which is an exploding chainsaw that has been grinding on the concrete for a few hundred feet. I remember way back in 2010 when Sorcery was first shown off to the world at E3 during Sony's press conference. Then there was a surprising lack of anything to do with the game except the parallels with Medieval Moves: Deadmunds Quests, which I'll admit I thought was a redesign since Sorcery was labeled a working title. But now, I am overly surprised and happy to bring you some new footage and visuals for Sorcery, which no longer seems a working title now. Looks like Sony took the time to answer that question for us in their latest promotional video for the Long Live Play campaign. Looks like they do and they are supposed to be. Sackboy I'm looking at you. Tsk tsk tsk… This is a rather interesting and awesome addition to things though. Especially since everyone in there is not a PlayStation exclusive even though it is stacked that way a bit. I will say that some of their choices for actors is a little odd or at least make the characters look odd. Kratos for one just looks wrong even though he looks to be the most CG'ed of the bunch. I like to think that there is no one sadder that myself about the Twisted Metal delay. I'm sure there might be, but I don't want to make assumptions here. No need to make and Ass out of U and Ptions. Am I right or am I right? Of course I am. Moving on now. Well we might not be getting the game in October and there won't be a "beta" for the multiplayer, at least as David Jaffe has stated. When I heard that Sony was going to bundle the two PSP God Of War titles, Chains Of Olympus and Ghost Of Sparta, for the PS3 I was a little upset. I already dropped the cash on these games for the PSP and the PS3 was already out. I thought then, why did they not just make these games on the PS3 and just make them downloadable or cheap disks? After seeing the below comparison, I am even more infuriated that I had to wait to get them in high definition and on my big screen at home.
