Kano Has Been Fully Announced For Mortal Kombat X
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 12th of August 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
It has now been fully announced that Kano will be gracing us in Mortal Kombat X with three hardcore fighting styles It was all but confirmed that Kano was coming to Mortal Kombat X last week via a German magazine sharing a few screens for the character. Now, as promised, Ed Boon has full announced Kano will be making a comeback to Mortal Kombat X even though he will be a bit older and relying on his cybernetics to not die right away. It really looks like NetherRealm is pushing that "in the future" aspect of the game doesn't it? So what do we get to look forward to for Kano in Mortal Kombat X? Read More...

This Week In Gaming 8/4/14 — 8/8/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 8th of August 2014 - 11:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming It sure feels like this week has been one big tease for gaming news. Yes there were a few new items out there and such but it really felt like there was a lot "here's something but you have to wait for the full thing still." I hate teases. Especially when they lead to a whole lot of nothing and waiting for weeks to pass by. Nothing worse for us in the gaming world is there? Read More...

Did We Just Get A Kano Slip For Mortal Kombat X?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 4th of August 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
A few new images for Mortal Kombat X have cropped up online and it looks like Kano is up next for reveal The internet can't keep anything sacred and fun for reveal and the latest Mortal Kombat X outing speaks directly to that. It looks like a few screen grabs from a German magazine have found their way from the editing room to the internet and it pretty much confirms Kano as a returning fighter to Mortal Kombat X. It sure looks like Kano and the brief description in the bottom corner looks to be all about his "Wrestling-Kano" fighting style. Unless this is an elaborate fake just in the build up to Gamescom. Sounds Like Guest Characters Could Be Coming To Mortal Kombat X
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 15th of July 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
In an interview with Mad Catz during EVO 2014 Ed Boon spoke about the possibility of guest character DLC for Mortal Kombat X It seems a bit odd to be speaking of guest characters for Mortal Kombat X when we only had the game's seventh main character announced during EVO here recently. None the less the people from Mad Catz decided to ask the question of "guest characters" during one of the live streams from the event even though Ed Boon mention a whole bunch of new characters Mortal Kombat X. It makes no sense to ask the question but they did and we got the answer of sorts. While it is not a confirmation of anything, Mr. Read More...

Raiden Is The Answer To "Who's Next?" For Mortal Kombat X
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 14th of July 2014 - 07:00 PM ]
During EVO 2014 in Las Vegas, NV it was revealed that Raiden will be a fighter in Mortal Kombat X Now we can take the fighter count to at least seven for Mortal Kombat X as Raiden has been confirmed to be coming back to the franchise. Not that big of a shocker (pun intended) as Raiden has been an iconic character much like Scorpion and Sub Zero have been over the last umpteen incarnations of the franchise lore. I could be wrong but I believe he has been in every version of the franchise in some form where as some have been left out for various reasons. I'm talking film and everything not just the games here. Read More...

They were announced at E3 but now have a closer look at the four new characters for Mortal Kombat X At E3 we were treated to not only two but four new characters for Mortal Kombat X and given a small taste of their combat styles and abilities. Just in case you want to have a closer view of each of these characters outside of the fast-paced cKombat we have a few new images to show you then. Well more one for each of the four new characters announced for the game already. If you don't know what Scorpion or Sub Zero look like yet then you may want to do a net search and kick yourself in the groin (somehow). Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 20th of June 2014 - 11:06 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming This week in gaming news should be the epic conclusion to the E3 coverage that we were able to cover. There was just so much that I wish would could have covered more but there was a good long list of hands on and impressions for you to read through. Even if you don't feel like reading they are all filled with video snippets of the gameplay or trailers that were placed out there to impress and awe. I like to plan ahead as we all have too little time to waste sometimes when it comes to our gaming needs. Read More...

E3 2014 Impressions: Mortal Kombat X
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 17th of June 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
While At E3 I Got To See Mortal Kombat X In A More Intimate Setting Than Just The Trailer. Here's My Take On It Mortal Kombat X was teased and rumored long enough before E3 that it was no real big surprise to see it play out on the big screens during the press conferences. By no means am I saying it wasn't a treat to see but there was no real shock and awe moment as the game was fully announced. But that is really all that happened on the big screen leaving much to be desired beyond the long lines of fans waiting to see what Ed Boon had in store for us; not to mention the two new characters promised to be shown off during the event. But beyond that long line was much more than was to be expected… First and foremost was the fact that we got to see not only two new characters to the Mortal Kombat universe but we got to see four. As Suspected… Mortal Kombat X Is Now Officially Announced
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 2nd of June 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
The countdown is over and Mortal Kombat X has been officially announced with a trailer and a few bits on gameplay After weeks of teasing and many "leaks" it looks like we got what was "promised" as Mortal Kombat X has now been fully announced. It even has a nice pre-rendered trailer to go along with it. At least it is assumed to be pre-rendered but the fact that it looks to be using the Unreal Engine 4 as a base and planned for the PS4, XB1, and PC as well as the "last gen" consoles, it might not be out of the realm of possibilities for it to be real time footage. Doubtful, but possible. Read More...

This Week In Gaming 5/27/14 — 5/30/14
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 30th of May 2014 - 11:00 PM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Gaming. As we are heading into E3 here it is surprising how many game announcements or updates in the world of gaming there have been. Even with the short week here in the States it has been crazy busy in terms of keeping up with everything going on. Are the developers or publishers keeping anything hidden for the convention coming up here? If they are not keeping the gaming announcements quiet then I hope that means more on the floor to actually play. Read More...

[UPDATED] Rumor Mill: Does This Make Mortal Kombat X Official?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 28th of May 2014 - 09:00 PM ]
An image of some promotional materials on Reddit may have outed the next Mortal Kombat via poster. UPDATE: Well it looks like a new Mortal Kombat is now mostly confirmed as Ed Boon has posted the following on his Twitter account after updating the look and icons to match the poster. Unless he is trolling us all it looks pretty confirmed. We'll know for sure next week when his countdown ends. Read More...

Rumor Mill: Is There A New Mortal Kombat On The Way?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 6th of May 2014 - 09:01 PM ]
The mind behind Mortal Kombat may be teasing a June 2nd event that could be another title to the franchise. There are stretch rumors and then there are really stretch rumors like this one for a new Mortal Kombat to be announced just before E3. Some eagle eyed internet users who have been paying close attention to Ed Boon's Twitter account have been piecing together the ramblings and musings of the co-creator of Mortal Kombat or stumbled upon an odd countdown to something. Here are the following tweets that have come out since May 4th. 2:33 PM - 4 May 2014 Square root of 841. Read More...

You Can Binge Watch Mortal Kombat Legacy Season 2, But Do You Want To?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 2nd of October 2013 - 03:52 PM ]
Earlier this year we got a trailer and a few details about the second season of Mortal Kombat: Legacy. I was not overly impressed. Now the time has come and we have the full season available to watch. I have and am still not impressed at all. Again this feels like a simple milking of the franchise and nothing more. If you don't believe me or think you might have a different opinion on the quality of the web series you can watch all ten episodes below. It makes me sad to know that an original idea that happened three years ago spawned just another telling of the same story we have heard a hundred and one times already. Read More...
