Add Another Title To The PS Vita's List, Mortal Kombat

The most recent Mortal Kombat was a great revitalization to the franchise so it would be a great idea to port it over to Sony's new portable device. Please gods don't let there be another video game film craze coming again. Earlier this week we found out Dead Island has been optioned for a featured film. Now, Mortal Kombat is getting the same treatment. Yes, another Mortal Kombat film is in the works. Although it has potential to be really good but only if things work out as alluded to. Mortal Kombat No Longer The Dream You Want

So this threw me for kind of a loop at Comic Con. The fourth, and possibly final, DLC character announced for Mortal Kombat is Freddy Krueger. Not the rumored Green Lantern or some other comic super hero but the master of nightmares. Waterworks In The New Mortal Kombat DLC

The guys over at NetherRealm Studios have released a few trailers for their newest Mortal Kombat DLC character Rain. The trailers show off some of his back story, which is quite nice. Seems that after being orphaned from Shao-Khan's merciless army, the resistance adopted him and made him into a very powerful but arrogant warrior. After being denied a command position in the resistance he betrayed them and joined his mortal enemy, Shao-Khan. The trailers also shows off some very brutal combos and attacks that we can expect to dish out and sorely take to the face a couple dozen times. Read More...

Klassic Skins And Skarlet DLC Coming Soon To Mortal Kombat

So that didn't take long at all. A little under two months out from launch and we are getting all those pretty pre-order exclusives for Mortal Kombat hitting the open market. I get that those who pre-ordered the game at a specific location have had access to whichever klassic character skin and fatality from day one, but do you feel any kind of special for being that big of a fan? I know I'd feel a little cheated as the proof of my fandom is now being given out to anyone who wants it now. The collection consists of seven pre-order klassic character skins (Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Reptile, Ermac, Mileena, Jade and Kitana) and klassic fatalities (Reptile, Scorpion and Sub-Zero). Mortal Kombat: Legacy Episode 7 - Scorpion The Family Man

That didn't last long. The awesome reimagining of the Mortal Kombat franchise that was shown in episode 6 seems to be thrown to the side as we are back on the path of the stories we already know. Oh, and just like the Kitana/Mileena story, this one is set up the same way only with franchise favorites Scorpion and Sub Zero. That includes the "To Be Continued" at the end of the episode. Finally we get something that was originally pitched way back when. It only took six episodes before we got another gritty take on the Mortal Kombat universe. While it was nothing as insane as how Baraka or Scorpion were presented, it does ask the question of "What would happen if a god fell in the modern age?" The latest episode of Mortal Kombat: Legacy has hit the web and it continues down the path of just retelling the story from the game. I have given up hope that they would begin to go back to the "reality based" version. So I am going to try and approach this from a different angle as my original excitement was for something that seems will never be. Anyway, this episode continues the animatic and story of Kitana and Mileena that was approached in last week's episode. Mortal Kombat: Legacy Episode 4 - Let's Go To Outworld

Um…I really don't know what to say this time. Other than it looks like the previously mentioned boat has now brought that jumper to the ramp before the shark. This new episode has completely deviated from the original pitch from last year. It reeks of either studio demands or that the production team stopped caring about bring what was originally hyped. I knew Baraka was going to be grossly different than the "real world" rendition, but they went all fantasy on it. Mortal Kombat: Legacy Episode 3 - You Got Caged!

Now here is a gross deviation from everything that was going on with Mortal Kombat: Legacy. First Johnny Cage isn't killed outright and he is actually failing as the actor he claims to be. A show called "You Got Caged." Really? All I could think about was the first line of from one of my favorite web shows. It's silly yet fun. Ah foreshadowing is a fun mistress. Remember in the first episode of Mortal Kombat: Legacy when they showed the laser eye? The normal eyed Kano held it up and asked about it. Of course you do.
