Dead Space 2 Cover Art Revealed
by Brian Goodman [ Saturday, 5th of June 2010 - 09:40 PM ]
I guess there isn't much else to say besides what is in the title. Here is a link to the tweet just released from the official Dead Space Twitter account. You can also see the art at the bottom of this post. About a year and a half ago ago I bought the first Dead Space used in the bargain bin, looking to kill some time. I wasn't expecting to, but I personally really enjoyed the first Dead Space. It wasn't very scary, nor did it have a very original plot, but it functioned very well with above average mechanics and fantastic graphics. Read More...

Review: Lost Planet II
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 1st of June 2010 - 04:59 PM ]
When you start comparing Lost Planet II to its predecessor it seems like it should escape all of the pitfalls of the first title and really offer up a solid single player experience with a rich multiplayer to boot. Aside from technical issues, some slightly questionable AI and level design, it delivers. However, a word of advice: Don't bother playing the game by yourself. LP2 just doesn't seem designed for it. Microsoft's Project Natal To Be Priced At $149
by Brian Goodman [ Thursday, 27th of May 2010 - 11:32 PM ]
Accoriding to a report from Edge-Online today Microsoft has set a $149 price tag on its upcoming motion capture camera dubbed "Project Natal". This price is three times the original rumored price of $49. To keep it relative the anticipated pricepoint of Sony's similar upcoming hardware release "move" is rumored to be only $99. Will Microsoft sell the millions of units to the casual and non-traditional gaming crowd that it anticipates at this price point? Will Sony destroy any possibility of success with its newly announced 31% of the console market and its significantly cheaper "Move"? Read More...

Two Worlds II Trailer Debuts
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 27th of May 2010 - 04:55 PM ]
TopWare Interactive has just debuted it's latest trailer for Two Worlds II. The sequel to Two Worlds, which at release was labeled as the "clone" of the Oblivion series. Two Worlds was off to a rocky start and very buggy in the beginning. Not to mention the community had very little patience for an epic adventure of this proportion to be that buggy out of the box. Through it all TopWare moved forward and continued working on Two Worlds II to bring the players back to the world of Antaloor. Enhanced AI, balancing standards, experienced authors, an active combat system, theinnovative DEMONS™ magic management, and the PAPAK™ alchemy system guarantee enjoyment for new and experienced gamers. Save Money With Microsoft?
by Kevin [ Monday, 24th of May 2010 - 08:19 PM ]
Well, there's nothing quite like a 50% off coupon for games, and I think we can all agree that when the games available for that deal are actually good then that makes the deal that much sweeter. Microsoft has a nice little deal going on over at the Microsoft Store for some select titles. There are a nice amount games on the list right now and I think after you look over it, you'll be making your way to the website. The list of games includes: Tony Hawk: RIDE Skateboard Bundle NCAA Football 10 Madden NFL 10 Street Fighter IV Resident Evil 5 The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Overlord II Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution DJ Hero Bundle Mercenaries 2: World in Flames Star Ocean: The Last Hope Ghostbusters: The Video Game Infinite Undiscovery Battlefield: Bad Company Batman: Arkham Asylum Where the Wild Things Are Lego Star Wars Complete Saga The Orange Box Army of Two Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 Guitar Hero Metallica NBA 2K10 Spider-Man: Friend or Foe Rock Band Track Pack Classic Rock Guitar Hero: Smash Hits Guitar Hero World Tour Guitar Kit X-Men Origins: Wolverine Uncaged Edition Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Bioshock Spider-Man: Web of Shadows Shaun White Snowboarding Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood FUEL Left 4 Dead 2 Tom Clancy's H. Review: Alan Wake
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 17th of May 2010 - 09:09 PM ]
If you follow me at all on here it should be no surprise that I have not seen much of a difference between Alan Wake and Silent Hill. At least that's my opinion from the viewpoint of the screen shots, trailers and the most recent live action Bright Falls series. I mean, they look so very similar. If you don't think so, then you should have your brain examined. Well, I was just recently able to give Alan Wake a good play through. A really good play through so I could contrast and compare between this new IP and the "older" Silent Hill IP. Read More...

Lessons Learned: Record of Agarest War
by Michael Camacho [ Monday, 17th of May 2010 - 02:34 PM ]
Have you ever been excited for a game's release, and somehow found a way to ruin the game experience due to your own mistake? I guess in my case, it's more stupidity than a mistake. What I am about to recount is how I went from being in Heaven to dragging myself through Hell in a matter of 10 days. This is my story on how my attempt to review Record of Agarest War went sour and the lessons I learned. As a gamer that is very keen on the import scene, I had heard of Record of Agarest War when it was first released in Japan in late 2007. I was intrigued by the reported dating aspects, the Soul Breeding the game touted and being able to play through story through multiple generations. Read More...

Mini Review: Dante's Inferno: Trials Of Lucida
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 14th of May 2010 - 02:32 PM ]
It was talked about way back in February when Dante's Inferno first launched and has since come to fruition. That being the DLC that adds multiplayer to a game that was originally sold as a single player experience. Also DLC that adds the ability for players to build their own challenge maps for other people who own Dante's Inferno to play. The DLC I am speaking of is The Trials Of Lucida. Is it worth the $10? Review: Dead to Rights: Retribution
by Kevin [ Monday, 3rd of May 2010 - 05:35 PM ]
Dead to Rights: Retribution is a third person action title following vice cop Jack Slate and his groin-ravaging, canine companion Shadow as they uncover the seedier threats that are rising against an already seedy Grant City. Essentially, it is a re-imagining of the franchise that began with very basic, but very fun run and gun gameplay with a hint of John Woo-style dramatics. The sequel to the original, Dead to Rights II: Hell to Pay, moved the series from all the aforementioned positives into an area of monotony and outright brokenness. It took the ideas of the first game, which were actually pretty fresh amidst most of the titles out at the time, and did absolutely nothing with them. Read More...

Review: Super Street Fighter IV
by 345 [ Friday, 30th of April 2010 - 08:00 PM ]
Super Street Fighter IV is definitely a great value at $40, especially for people who didn't pick up the original. Aside from everything originally included with IV, Super also includes a handful of new characters, new stages, new music and updated online play. This includes some new modes and features that fans have been wanting for over a year now. A new roster update comprises of a nice selection of characters from various series in the Street Fighter universe, as well as two new ones exclusive to Super. Juri is a welcome addition with a quickness that many other characters are lacking, and Hakan is a grappler covered in oil that brings more depth to his style of character. Read More...

Alan Wake Is Already A Hero In Bright Falls?
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 29th of April 2010 - 02:08 PM ]
So, as promised, below are the first two episodes 0f the prequel to Alan Wake. Something I was hoping would clarify the differences between Alan Wake and Silent Hill for me. They look so damn close in style, world and gameplay for me, and I'm most likely forgetting others as well. So let's see what Remedy has in store for us to see the differences for the story. That has got to be where they differ, which would be perfect for me. Let's start by watching episode one of the prequel. Read More...

Review: Splinter Cell Conviction
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 27th of April 2010 - 03:22 PM ]
I've never tried to hide the fact that I was not the biggest Splinter Cell fan. The exploits of one Mr. Fisher never struck me as the most engaging, no matter how polished the series might have been. There was nothing about the character that made me want to be a part of the world, so imagine my surprise when I discovered that what made me want to explore the game’s mythology was the dehumanization of Sam Fisher. I think the cover definitely serves as a metaphor for the changing of style and approach with this title. Fisher has lost his daughter and along with her, he’s lost his fragile grip on the world around him. Read More...

Review: Beat Hazard
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 26th of April 2010 - 06:26 PM ]
A combination of the best of what you love about Geometry Wars, Asteroids and Audiosurf, Beat Hazard is a rocking hand-eye coordination / spatial recognition challenge. Developed and published by Cold Beam Games, the game takes the music already stored on your computer and turns it into a space shooter. Big on gameplay, Beat Hazard makes no pretense regarding the presence of a story. Rather, it absorbs the drama from the song and builds your world from that palette. Read More...
