Playing A Real World Zombie Game - The Walking Dead Escape
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of July 2013 - 04:34 PM ]
Just as last year, The Walking Dead Escape was back with a vengeance at Petco Park during the San Diego Comic Con. For the uninitiated this is an event where a good portion of the sports arena in San Diego was converted into an obstacle course in the theme of AMC's The Walking Dead. It really allows for people to really test their mettle and some of their survival skills to brag that they could survive the initial zombie outbreak. I was lucky enough to get to run the course again this year and what I found interesting was that most people I ran with compared the experience to most of the action zombie video games on the market today. Granted we were not allowed to attack the zombies in the run, but I would have to agree with the sentiment as there has been a push in the industry with Outlast and Dying Light this year. by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 5th of September 2012 - 10:07 PM ]
Just like before, I won't be starting with the basics this time. If you want that, check out our review of the second episode of The Walking Dead. That should get you up to speed so you can dive right into episode three. So without further adieu. Story Just as before the story picks up shortly after the events of the last episode. This time supplies are not just running short, but some are going missing and there looks to be someone signaling the bandits introduced in the last episode. Tensions run higher than ever and the group is forced to leave their base camp. Read More...

Play The Walking Dead For Real At Comic Con
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 2nd of July 2012 - 08:37 PM ]
So by now you've most likely played Telltale's The Walking Dead, read the comic or seen the show. If anything you at least are interested in the zombie apocalypse scenario. Well here is something that those interested in any of those things mention will find pretty damn awesome. If you are at San Diego Comic Con next week you will have the chance to actually play "the game" for real. The game being that of surviving in a world where the dead have escaped the Underworld and are coming for your flesh. This isn't some small obstacle course set up as fun for promotions either. Review: The Walking Dead: Episode 1
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 26th of April 2012 - 10:02 PM ]
Developed and Published by Telltale Games this episodic game takes place within The Walking Dead universe. While some characters share the names of those in the comic and TV show, it is a whole new story. The Walking Dead is a point and click game with "precision" quick-time events. Instead of simply hitting a button you have to aim in a specific spot and then hit a button. I sat down to play The Walking Dead expecting a quick little hour or so session but I soon found myself sucked in to the characters and their story. I actually finished the game in one session. by David 'Hades' Becker [ Sunday, 25th of March 2012 - 06:29 PM ]
We recently were given a look at The Walking Dead's game play via Telltale's debut trailer but it wasn't much more than a few seconds. A few seconds of very little compared to what the latest episode of Playing Dead has to show us. While the episode is about 15 minutes long, if you jump to the 7 minute mark you will get a glimpse at about 3 minutes of the game. Spoiler, it looks like it handles just as one would expect from Telltale. Take a watch. Read More...

If you are a fan of the comics or the TV version of The Walking Dead then you might be excited to learn that there are a load of new details out for The Walking Dead Game from TellTale. By loads I am talking a nice 14+ minute "webisode" called Playing Dead and this is just the first of what can be assumed many episodes that cover everything that the studio is thinking of when it comes to making the game. If you don't want to listen to the entire episode here, let me give you a few bullet points on the new info. You will miss out on a few of the in game screen shots, but for the most part here is what is touched upon. Read More...
