Batman Arkham Knight has just been fully announced and is back in the hands of Rocksteady. Not to mention next gen and PC only. So this was unexpected today. Games Montréal where I thought the franchise had moved on to slowly piddle out as did most others I know who were not impressed with Arkham Origins. Here we go with yet another villain shown for Batman: Arkham City - Mr. Freeze. If you look below, you'll see the nice, shiny new trailer for this latest reveal. At first glance, it really just seems like another step to stop Bats from getting things under control. That is, until he begins to meander around like a smaller, frozen Big Daddy. I do love the new direction that RockSteady has taken The Riddler, my second favorite villain, but I can't seem to look past the close similarities in the characters. They are both geniuses. They both like putting people in death traps. They both have a specific tone and method to their speaking. I guess the only real difference is that the new Riddler does it to prove to the world that he really is the smartest person alive. So it looks like the rumor about NOT being able to play as Catwoman in Batman: Arkham City is now busted. Submitted for your consumption, I give you a look at a bit of the game play as Catwoman in Batman: Arkham City. Straight from the horse's mouth, A.K.A. Rocksteady, to our eyes. Yes, I know that doesn't make visual sense, but just go with it. It doesn't show any form of Co-Op which leads me to believe that she is either going to have a small portion of the game set up like The Joker did in Arkham Asylum. In Batman: Arkham Asylum the Riddler had kind of a small role, even though it was one of the larger side missions in the game. It makes sense when you think about the fact that he didn't physically show up at all in the game. This looks like something that Rocksteady is going to be changing when it comes to Arkham City. Well we can put the rumors the Batman: Arkham City co-op video that found its way to the internet started. In a recent interview Sefton Hill from of Rocksteady Studios gave there will be no co-op play in Arkham City. It will be a single player game only. This kind of makes me extremely happy. Especially with the reasons being that they didn't want to take anyone from the team off the work on single player to deliver a rushed co-op mode. Catwoman and Poison Ivy have nothing on Harleen Quinzel in my book. It's that little spark of true insanity that gives her that little edge for me. When you mix that with the new shot of her from Batman: Arkham City you can bet that she gets added into the "fictional character spank bank." All because you know she would teach you a thing or two about the wild side before trying to shove her oversize mallet down your throat to get a better squishy sound for Whack-A-Bat. Now here is an interesting twist that could occur with the upcoming Batman: Arkham City, co-op play with the Clown Prince of Crime! At least from a video that seems to have been leaked out through a few European websites that shows just that. A nice little fight scene where Batman and Joker fight off a few waves of thugs in the streets of Arkham City. Pretty cool if it is a real thing and not some fan's attempt at internet humor and fame. With the new iteration of the Batman: Arkham [Insert Location Here] franchise, a new look will emerge.  The technology and graphics capability have been expanded on and it would be irresponsible for the developers over at Rocksteady to not utilize these changes. Even just textures and character models would generally be enough to satisfy the ever-expanding needs and wants of gamers.
