EA Sports at E3 had announced a new MMA game to be released in 2010. Well EA just recently held a press conference for there new EA Sports MMA game. Randy Couture was there to announce that he has signed an Exclusive deal to appear in only MMA games created by EA. As this is MMA and not UFC there really is no conflict of interest. EA Sports's Madden NFL 10. The Best Madden Ever In years past (especially between 02 and 08) the annual Madden has been seen as somewhat of a roster update, however, Madden NFL 10 is something I've not experienced before: an ultra good looking, ultra realistic football game. Madden NFL 09 was a step in the right direction, with better graphics and new animations, however Madden 10 is a giant leap in the right direction, such a big leap it may have just landed where it needed to be. In years past, Madden has been hampered by a lack-luster graphics system that was essentially a beefed up PS2 engine. Remember the old school days of MUD's and serious 2D MMORPG action (where we learned to grind XP like a champ). One of the original MMORPG's is about to realease it's 8th expansion pack! Recently Ultima online released the 7th expansion Mondain's Legacy for free as a part of the game client, probably for players to get jazzed for the new expansion. The 8th expansion Stygian Abyss is due to be released September 8th 2009 and will include new features, dungeons and epic boss battles. Dante's Inferno: Gluttony Developer's Diary Continuing down the path of Hell from Lust, Visceral Games keeps with their fun and dark developer's diaries. This time they cover the third level, Gluttony. A level that should be as gruesome as the scene from Se7en and starts to look that way with some of the concepts they show in the video. A very interesting tidbit came across my inbox this morning. At a Best Buy in Utah, there are some potentially devastating moves going on. Probably more of a test run than anything else. Best Buy is quoted on their in-store advertisement as saying, "Best Buy now price matches new video games at used prices from GameStop or Game Crazy." Thus far this has been the only store with such an ad reported, but the effects of this could be very far-reaching. Imagine just walking into a Best Buy with your GameStop weekly ad and utilizing the deal. Read More...

Alas, for all those Dragon Age fans out there, we have a bit of bad news. Bioware and EA have announced that Dragon Age: Origins is being delayed. It's not so bad just a matter of days. It will be delayed from October 20th to November 3rd. A little bit of an oddity is that the PC and Xbox 360 versions have been pushed back but they have not released a date for the PS3 version. There has been no real reason for the date change or what is happening with the PS3 version. All we know is that the PS3 version will be out "later in November". Read More...

With the release of Brütal Legend getting closer and closer everyday, I am sure someone is wondering what the soundtrack for the game will be like. Finally some closure. After a very long and grueling process, Activision and Double Fine Studios have come to some even ground and we do not have to worry about Brütal Legend being delayed in all it's rocking glory. According to the Associated Press and the New York Times, the Lawyers for Activision told court officials that they had finally come to a settlement with Double Fine Studios on Wednesday. For a brief recap see my previous article Activision tells EA to Back off The Los Angeles Superior Court spokeswoman said that Activision settled with Double Fine and a hearing, that was supposed to occur this fine Thursday morning, was canceled. What was heard last week was that the Superior Court Judge Craig Karlan had told Activision's lawyers that the request was probably going to get denied and the game was going to get released on time anyways. Left4Dead gets a new expansion this September with "Crash Course", a whole new campaign that connects the end of No Mercy with the beginning of Death Toll. Of all the endings, No Mercy was perhaps the most ambiguous, as how far and where would the helicopter would land. The beginning to Death Toll, which is just as ambiguous, finds our four survivors before a collapsed bridge and a tunnel chock-full-o'-zombies. While it may not give as much story as Left4Dead 2, it certainly hints at the fact that Valve isn't willing to drop development of it's first iteration. Sunday: The Day of Rest...Kind of Given that this day should have been the lazy day, not Saturday, it is no surprise that the final day was even more lazy with a little bit of violence mixed in. Even though it was the day with the least going on, as has always been the case. But it did lead to a few interesting lessons learned about humans. They'll do anything for free stuff and most won't back up big talk when their bluff is called.
