A sad day indeed. Gary Gygax died today in his home from natural causes at the age of 69. For those who don't know or didn't read the title bar, he was the creator for Dungeons and Dragons. This news was posted by his son, Ernie Gygax, through the Troll Lord Games forum boards and the news has hit many other websites about his demise. But even though he is gone, his legacy will hopefully live on like Achilles.
Before anyone starts to say, how does this relate to video games, his work is what was used to inspire so many of the games you enjoy today. Mainly Role Playing Games and MMO's. So even though he started the Pen and Paper genre of games, he had a great influence over what we play and still will play from these years on out. Please keep the "He failed his save VS Death" and "Where was the f*cking Cleric" comments to a minimum. This man is a legend and deserves to hear good thoughts while wandering Ellysia or what ever paradice you may believe in.
R.I.P. Gary Gygax (7/27/1938 - 3/4/2008)
