The Cake Is Truly A Lie, But Portal 2 Is Not
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 6th of March 2010 - 11:18 PM ]
It's been a long time coming, but it is finally here. Portal 2 has been announced. Announced via the latest edition of Game Informer as a twelve page article and featured on two different covers for this edition. You can see the images below. Not too bad to look at, but you will have to get the magazine to get more details as of right now. Or you could pop on over to the GameStop site and scope out these details listed under the PC description for the pre-order. A description that states there is going to be a full new cast of characters, a load of new puzzles, much larger puzzles as well, and multiplayer/co-op modes in the game. Read More…

Trailer Week For Nintendo & Bungie
by Binh Nguyen [ Saturday, 6th of March 2010 - 09:05 PM ]
Halo and Metroid. Two major household names in the gaming industry. Well a few days ago Bungie and Nintendo released trailers for Halo: Reach multi-player and Metroid Other M. To be honest with you all, I thought the Halo trailer really spoke volumes on what the multi-player will be like with a few nice additions to the game. Metroid Other M on the other hand was a bit disappointing. Metroid is probably THE only game for me that I DO NOT want voice acting at all! Read More…

Review: BioShock 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 5th of March 2010 - 08:49 PM ]
The time has finally come for us all to head back into Rapture and see what has transpired since the fall of Andrew Ryan and get some questions answered. Is the city still standing up well? Have the splicers died off? What happened to those pesky ADAM filled Little Sisters? All kinds of questions that we were left to wonder when escaping from the underwater city in the first BioShock. The Story: Picking up almost ten years after Jack escaped from Rapture, BioShock 2 starts you out in a similar WTF moment forcing the start of the game. You just kind of wake up as a Big Daddy and have only clouded memories on what the hell is going on. Read More…

Games In A Flash
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 4th of March 2010 - 09:32 PM ]
Flash games are the best way to kill time at work, at school, or waiting for the next Blizzard game to be released. With all the new console games coming out every week, we seem to overlook some developers that create entertaining games for FREE! Day after day folks are pouring out innovative and new game ideas all the time. I thought I would highlight a few of these for you readers out there, because their are some games out their that are too good to miss. Robot Unicorn Attack   Yes this game looks like it's for four year old girls and ponies (and the music is something from the 80's) but it's simplicity and fast paced gameplay make this a great way to kill that 15 minute break you have in the morning. Steam Coming To Mac?
by Corey Dockendorf [ Thursday, 4th of March 2010 - 04:48 PM ]
With the Game Developers Conference just a short ways away, and Valve revving everyone up for their "Big Announcement," little has been left to the imagination about what this announcement could be. Images have been surfacing from multiple sites who had received images displaying Valve characters in very "Apple like" commercials. I have attached some of the images for your viewing pleasure. A very cool 1984 throwback featuring Alyx from Half-life 2 (via Macworld) Gordon freeman rocking the Apple look (via Macrumors) Check out the rest from MacNN, Rock, Paper, Shotgun and Eurogamer The folks over at the Steam community forums have been data mining the latest client software Beta release and have stumbled upon graphic images for Mac buttons, an osx. Madden Who? Tecmo Bowl Returns
by Kevin [ Wednesday, 3rd of March 2010 - 01:52 PM ]
Perhaps my favorite football game of all time is set to return to XBox Live and the PSN in the Spring of this year. I know I'm not the only one who fondly remembers holding up and A on the NES' controller to pick a play and then watching a mass of pixels go to war on the field. It's time for Tekumo Bōru! As the press release proudly proclaims, "Tecmo Bowl fans no longer have to reminisce about the old days as players can return to the first video game that emulated real football with new generation consoles, twenty years after its release. As a game that still holds a strong community following, online community tournaments can now be held nationwide at the comfort of home. Read More…

Top Heads of Infinity Ward Leave
by Michael Camacho [ Tuesday, 2nd of March 2010 - 11:07 PM ]
This morning many awoke to rumors quickly circulating the internet and news sites about prominent figures at Infinity Ward being fired by Activision, supposedly even with "bouncers" removing them from their offices. Patrick Klepek of G4's The Feed initially broke the possible story. The rumors began gaining credibility as Jason West's Linkedin page now stated he used to work for Infinity Ward and a Facebook status claimed unemployment. Activision finally confirmed the rumors late this afternoon/early evening. Jason West and Vince Zampella have both been let go from the developer. Read More…

PlayStation: It Only Holds Your Entertainment Hostage
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 2nd of March 2010 - 12:07 AM ]
UPDATE: As of now (4:40 pm PST 3/1/10) the PSN outage for older console users is over. But will this force Sony to make an update so if it happens again PS3s the world over will not be ass out? We'll see when they give an official announcement on the went wrong. Still not boding well in my book. So if you are a huge fan of playing games on the PS3, or watching movies on the PS3, or running around humping things in Home on the PS3, you undoubtedly know that as of right now you can't. Well that is if you have one of the earlier models, before 2009's Slim. I guess in this case, newer is better. Read More…

Metal Tweet Solid VII: Patriot Sons of Blue Foxtail
by Kevin [ Sunday, 28th of February 2010 - 08:57 PM ]
Though Twitter has not verified the account, those that have been following the Tweets of this account have been thoroughly convinced that Hideo Kojima has found his way into Twitter. Kojima has been doing his thing on Twitter for a few days now, and it's worth the translation effort just to walk along with him. There have been several tweets that provide evidence that it is in fact him as such his view from the top for instance. He also enjoys sharing the contents of his meals. Read More…

Just in case you missed the latest GT TV episode, let me give you a short highlight. Big Daddy Got Wood!
by Binh Nguyen [ Friday, 26th of February 2010 - 10:34 PM ]
Ever been so obsessed with a game or character that you needed to draw them or have it everywhere? Myself, I have anime, Super Sentai stuff on my PC, PSP Go, toys (or in Mike's case, dolls), etc. Well this Japanese man takes things to a whole new level as he takes the time to carve out a nearly life size wooden statue of Big Daddy from BioShock. In this nearly ten minute video, you will see how much detail this Japanese Jason took to create Big Daddy. I could not imagine how long it probably took him to finish the project, but needless to say it is worth a watch. Read More…

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of February 2010 - 03:31 PM ]
Now that the excitement and anticipation of Mass Effect 2 is over, it is time to make way for another action adventure type of RPG. This time without alien boobs or harvesting minerals from planets. Instead, you get to save the world from a full on war. Much like every other RPG storyline that is out there. Final Fantasy I'm looking at you. Alpha Protocol has been given the official date of June 1st for release. Read More…

Fly Planes Into Buildings With Greed Corp
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of February 2010 - 12:34 PM ]
Now there is a great addition I though was still 15.2 years away, a ways off from the required 23.7, from being funny. But as shown in the launch trailer for Greed Corp, a game W!Games just released in the wilds, you get to do just that. It even looks like a basic attack to use in this interesting new RTS for the PSN and XBLA. Who wouldn't want to relive that over and over? All joking aside now, I really do mean that this game looks interesting. Read More…
