This Week In Video Games 2/2/15 — 2/6/15
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 7th of February 2015 - 12:00 AM ]
A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games Well that was a fun and stressful week for video games and for us. It may look like we favored the same small group of games all week but in all honesty Mortal Kombat X, Game Of Thrones, and Dying Light just had so much to cover. Hells we even had three reviews this week and two of them were in that short list you just read. Nothing like being able to keep us all up to date on titles that are currently out there hoping to win over the collective and ever black hearts of us gamers huh? Read More…

Review: Game Of Thrones — The Lost Lords
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of February 2015 - 10:00 PM ]
We Sit Down And Review Game Of Thrones — The Lost Lords. This is the second episode of Telltale's take on HBO's famed TV franchise. Here's our review on how they've done so far The release of Game Of Thrones — The Lost Lords has come and now we have Telltale's second episode for the six part story that links into the TV Show from HBO. The first episode was a bit on the slow side and stayed safe with all of the standards that have been set up via Telltale's normal storytelling structure but did this episode follow suit? Or did The Lost Lords break free of the iron bonds and give us something really new to experience with Game Of Thrones? Read More…

Final Fantasy XV Has A Bit More Gameplay Being Shown
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of February 2015 - 08:00 PM ]
A little more gameplay for Final Fantasy XV has been released to help promote Final Fantasy Type-0 HD and the demo given with that game Square Enix is really pushing for Final Fantasy Type-0 HD to sell well. Especially when it comes with the Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae demo in the mix. In fact in the latest trailer for the game there is quite a bit of new gameplay footage for Final Fantasy XV added to the end for all of us more excited for that game to watch with shock and awe. Well, more awe than shock as it all looks like more generic scenes for Final Fantasy XV but damn do they all look pretty. There is even a better look at Cidney and how spectacular and easy it can be to model and animate the female form even though her's is an idolized Western version of said form. Read More…

Mortal Kombat X Is Looking To Evolve The Online Play For The Franchise
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 6th of February 2015 - 06:00 PM ]
New information for Mortal Kombat X's online play and meta-game have been revealed and looks like it will keep us all more kaptivated longer Back when Kung Lao was confirmed for Mortal Kombat X we caught a little bit of wind on the new online modes and factions for the game. There wasn't much to go on as it was more or less a footnote in the overall information release and all we knew was that there were five factions and you had to choose one at the start of Mortal Kombat X. The fact that all of your actions in single player and online play had an effect somehow wraps up all that we were given then. That was then and this is now and do we have a lot more to talk about these modes for Mortal Kombat X. Read More…

Slasher Vol. 1: Summer Camp Has Its…Well…Slasher Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 5th of February 2015 - 10:01 PM ]
Horror legend Kane Hodder has joined up to be the killer in Slasher Vol. 1: Summer Camp to kind of reprise his role from films I feel bad for just now catching wind of Summer Camp and its early development. I blame titles like Last Year and Until Dawn for taking the spotlight in the realm of classic horror film style games and Summer Camp falling through my cracks when it was announced last October. Especially now that I know that this is more or less going to have Jason in it even though it won't be by name. We will have the ability to control the movements from the man who made that role so iconic in Summer Camp on the PS4, XB1, and PC so we can look past the fact that there is a Friday The 13th game in the works for now. Dying Light Is Filled With As Many Easter Eggs As Zombies
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 5th of February 2015 - 08:00 PM ]
Dying Light Easter Eggs have been popping up all over the internet since its launch last week and here are some of the better ones Dying Light is full of all kinds of missions and things to experience. I played quite a bit of the game so we could bring you a great review to read and use as a deciding factor if you should give the game a play. In the process of it all though as I had to focus elsewhere I missed out on a lot of really cool little Easter Eggs that Techland placed in the mix of the core game. I feel bad and now need to replay Dying Light to go and find what else I may have missed but you don't have to as I've collected a couple of the cooler Easter Eggs that could go missed if you don't have all the time in the world to search the game's world or the internet. A Lot Of Care Went Into The Order: 1886's Cloth Textures
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 5th of February 2015 - 06:00 PM ]
Ready At Dawn has released their fifth developer's diary for The Order: 1886 and it details the care that the team took when it came to the game engine You may be scoffing or guffawing at the title here but in the most recent developer's diary for The Order: 1886 the team over at Ready At Dawn sure focus in a lot on how much detail they had to put in to make the game's cloth and materials look and "feel" just right. As if we haven't already seen it during all of the other gameplay footage and demos it is all pinpointed more here. That is generally the point of these kinds of videos but what is more interesting is to see how the team harnessed more of the PS4's power to make sure everything was done correctly and the leather looked like leather; or the snozberries tasted like what every they taste like. Review — Dying Light
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 4th of February 2015 - 10:02 PM ]
We Sit Down And Review Dying Light. They've nailed the open world zombie game already but can they do it again? Here's Our Review Dying Light has been one of those most anticipated titles for 2015 and the time has come to see if Techland could hit another home-run in the zombie outbreak genre of video games. This time it not only builds off a formula that they set up but adds in the mix of parkour and a day/night cycle aiming to make Dying Light a truly horrifying, exciting, and story driven title that we all will want to play for days and nights to come. Did they hit the mark again or does Dying Light just keep the genre shuffling on? Read More…

Have A Peek At Bloodborne's Customization Options
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 4th of February 2015 - 08:01 PM ]
We have a new look at all of the options we are going to have when it comes to our characters in Bloodborne…and a bunch of new gameplay If you are looking to have your own special snowflake when it comes to Bloodborne it looks like you are going to be in luck. From Software has added in a whole mess of options into the game to customize your character however you want and they were so nice to give an exclusive look of all of that. At least an exclusive look for all of that to IGN so they could take us all through a quick minute version of all of the option Bloodborne will have to make you all nice and special. Hopefully so you don't look like any other character when you finally log in with you PS4 and play the game. Read More…

Ready Or Not, Evolve Is Coming For Us All
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 4th of February 2015 - 06:01 PM ]
We have a new live action trailer for Evolve and it looks cool but has a creepy feel for those who may not know what the game is about Here we go with another live action trailer and this one is for Evolve. As would normally be the case I would harsh on a live action trailer here but for this game I'll give it kind of a pass as we have been inundated with gameplay and information for Evolve for so long. If you haven't seen any gameplay or even played the game slightly on the PS4, Xbox One, or PC then you most likely don't care about Evolve at all and clicked in here because you are doing a school report on evolution. Thanks for the click. Read More…

NightCry First Gameplay Looks Creepier Than The Short Film
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 3rd of February 2015 - 10:01 PM ]
The first bit of gameplay for NightCry has been added to the Kickstarter campaign by Nude Maker in the hopes to help fund the game more Last week we had a look at the live action trailer for NightCry, the Clock Tower spiritual successor, and it was okay. It was meant to help set the tone that Nude Maker is going for with NightCry. In my opinion it didn't do a great job as it felt like a really cheesy made for TV short film and nothing that could hold a candle to my memories of Clock Tower. Now we have the first bit of gameplay for NightCry and this is what they should have led with when starting up the Kickstarter for NightCry. Read More…

Some New Brutal Gameplay For The Order: 1886 Has Surfaced
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 3rd of February 2015 - 08:20 PM ]
The Order: 1886 has some new gameplay footage as well as a viral site to help us understand the lore of the game Okay, so I say new gameplay for The Order: 1886 but in all honesty it is gameplay from the build that was on display at the PlayStation Experience in Las Vegas last year. Some of you may have seen it already but most have probably not seen it. If you have then the jokes a bit on you as this little bit of The Order: 1886 gameplay footage is off of a Japanese build of the same section and most likely running on a PS4 of the same territory. At least the text and voice overs would point to that but none the less here is a look at some of the work that Ready At Dawn have put into the game so far. Read More…

Mortal Kombat X Has Multiple Ways To Kollect The Game
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 3rd of February 2015 - 06:01 PM ]
It has been announced that there will be multiple Mortal Kombat X Kollector's Editions including one with a custom Scorpion Statue Here we go with the steamroller of Mortal Kombat X news it would seem. We had Ermac and Reptile announced last week and now we have a look at the amazing Kollector's Editions that are in the works from NetherRealm for all the fans. We have not only one option but those who have a PS4, Xbox One, or PC have up to four different versions of Mortal Kombat X's Kollector's Editions to choose from. So many options and for variations, like the fighters, and also ranging from $90 up to $180 USD. Read More…

Game Of Thrones Episode Two Has Its Launch Trailer Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 2nd of February 2015 - 10:00 PM ]
Game Of Thrones — Episode Two: The Lost Lords has its launch trailer released now just in time for the episode to hit our systems It feels like Telltale is a little off the ball when it has come to the next episode for Game Of Thrones. At least when you compare it to all of the other titles that they have released usually we have this kind of trailer the Thursday before a huge launch. Maybe they didn't want it to get lost in the myriad of Super Bowl ads over the weekend or maybe I am just skewed in my memory. It just seems odd for them to have their launch trailer hitting just like every other developer's launch trailers do. Read More…

Review — Saints Row IV: Re-Elected
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 2nd of February 2015 - 08:00 PM ]
We Sit Down And Review Saints Row IV: Re-Elected. Do the better graphics and hardware give the game new life? Here's Our Review Here we go again with another HD remastered title in the way of the Saints Row IV: Re-Elected edition. We rather enjoyed our first trip through Saints Row IV but seeing as it released a few months before the next gen consoles launched it kind of missed that whole audience and technological advances. I guess that is why Deep Silver and Volition wanted to make sure we all got a chance to fully experience the game they wanted to make. Well, we gave it a try and we'll see if Saints Row IV: Re-Elected is worth the money for the latest edition and new audience; also if there is something early adopters missed out on the first time in 2013.
