SAW Dive into the gameplay features for SAW: Genesis to see how this all might build further into the SAW IP The announcement for SAW: Genesis left many of us scratching our heads with the premise and story. That is to say the least. Not that it sounded like it would be a bad game from Anshar Studios and Broken Mirror Games. Just that it felt like it was outside the norm of the IP so much that it might not work. Steam A new way to experience your Steam library is out there, with the launch of the new Steam Machine A new PC is hitting the market with the latest Steam Machine hitting the market out there. Well, more that Valve is giving us all the ability to reserve a new bit of hardware for us all to play our backlog of video games, that just also happens to be more of a PC than the past iterations of the hardware some of us still have. As long as you are ready to drop some funds on the new machine that might be closer to those of a lower-end gaming PC. Hellraiser The release date for Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival is finally set, with Hellraiser ready before this Halloween It feels as if it has taken forever, but here we go with a release date set for Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival. This is something that I know I was expecting Saber Interactive to show off in the bigger reveals recently, but I am still glad we now get to know when it will hit the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. I could keep the pain of that knowledge a little more obfuscated for you, but I will just say that Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival will be launching on October 8th of this year. Star Trek The Star Trek universe is getting a little dark, with the announcement of the horror title Star Trek: Shadow Frontier It is time to mark down a title I never thought we would see in the IP, but here we go with Star Trek: Shadow Frontier. Not that I thought this was based on anything before now, but more that we are getting a true horror title in the universe and from Bloober Team, along with Paramount Games. An IP that's always been known to stay closer to the positive and happier side of exploration is now heading into something that seems truly dark out there. Not that any of the episodes, films, or other forms that Star Trek has taken didn't introduce things that could be horrifying, I'm looking at you Borg, they generally tried to stay away from the true horrors of it all. SAW A new title in the SAW IP is on the way to us, with the announcement of SAW: Genesis taking us into The Great War Even though the film side of things seems to be in a weird limbo, the video game side of things got a little bit of a surprise with SAW: Genesis getting announced. A new and interesting entry into the IP with Anshar Studios and Bloober Team coming together to bring it all to the PC. Not the exact set of teams I was expecting, yet still the teams that I have a feeling have a good chance of doing it correctly. ILL A new bit of the story for ILL is on display, and we can get a little more to understand why we are walking in ILL We have had some fun thinking about ILL after it was first revealed to us all, but now we have something a little more specific to take in for the game to get us ready for the 2027 release on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Okay, maybe that is a little far off into the future, but Team Clout is ready to show us all a bit of the story beyond the horror that we are going to take in. As many have speculated since Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games started things off for this one, each configuration will grant the player some specific abilities. Yes, it looks as if Croteam still has more to show us and to tell us with this IP, and we are all going to have to solve even more next year. Aliens Head back into the Aliens universe with the announcement that we are getting Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 this Summer The Xenomorphs will just not stay down, as we now have the announcement that Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is on the way to us all. The 4-player co-op title is coming back from Cold Iron Studios, along with Daybreak Games, to give us all more to shoot at and survive. Not only that, but a few more things are in the wings for our Colonial Marines with this one. Just as we should all be expecting, they aim to bring Aliens: Fireteam further into the future.
