Our Suffering Will Be Legendary In Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival

Hellraiser

Take in a new gameplay overview for Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, and see how we are going to have so much of the Hellraiser IP

Just a few more weeks before Saber Interactive brings the pain to the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC, with the full release for Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival. A title we have all been waiting for, and learning quite a bit about as we head closer to finishing the configuration. We recently had a look at some of the other enemies we will be facing off with in the game, and now it is time to get further into some of the real gameplay of the game. Some of it will use the supernatural elements that we have seen in Hellraiser up to now, and other elements will have us using many of the basic tools that we would expect in the real world. All in a solid horror setting of things, so let us have a little look at just how that is all going to go down.

I know that we have seen many of the supernatural things in Hellraiser: Revival already, which is why it is nice to see that we will be leaning more into the melee and firearm combat in the game with this new look. That is where things are going to feel very survival horror in the game, with limited ammo and each melee weapon having a bit of durability to it, so we are going to have to be careful as we progress through the world with them. When that all runs out, and if we have caused enough Suffering in the world, we will have the puzzle box magics to use as we so wish. Suffering is the resource that fuels some of the special attacks and powers in Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, so it will be something else that we will need to keep an eye on as all of the enemies come rushing at us. Not to mention, we are keeping an ear out for the Cenobites who will be on the way to collect the new and old puzzle boxes for their own whims. Have a look at both the basic and Redband views of the gameplay just a bit below.

Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival — Gameplay Overview

Crafting a Labyrinth is never a small feat.

Witness twisted desires made flesh, the bloody battles and abilities the box so generously grants you.

The combat is brutal and visceral. With a wide variety of weapons at your disposal, from hard-hitting melee weapons to explosive firearms, you'll have plenty of ways to banish Hell's minions. You'll need to keep your wits about you, dodging attacks, scavenging for ammo and healing, laying down traps, and bartering for upgrades to stay alive against Cultists, Runners, Bursters, the Unworthy, and other terrors.

That's where the Genesis Configuration comes in. Wield the supernatural powers of this mysterious puzzle box to hurl objects against enemies, scorch them with fire, and much more. Use the might at your fingertips to bring the pain to your enemies, gather their Suffering, and even you can unleash the ultimate destruction… the infamous Hell Chains!

Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival — Gameplay Overview [Redband]

Is this how you were picturing the gameplay of Hellraiser: Revival to function, or did you have your mind set on something else for the game? How hard will it be to raise up the Suffering meter, and will there be a way to use fists if we run out of ammo or weapons? How hard is it going to be to escape the Cenobites once they are summoned onto the scene, and will there be a way to stop them once they do? Let us discuss what we can do in the comment section of the page here. We still have a few weeks until October 8th when Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival is going to launch, so expect us to have much more for the game leading up to then. You can keep on coming back to the website or watch all of our social channels to see when we have anything new to drop out there for the game. I already know that quite a few of you do not, and that makes me want to bring the Suffering your way for all of that.
