Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week This week has come to an end around here, and we had so many video games to look at. Partially due to the fact that gamescom was in full swing, and also due to the fact that we had so many on the verge of release already. Grand Theft Auto The gameplay for Grand Theft Auto VI is out there, and it looks like we are getting a whole lot more Grand Theft Auto Just as we all had been promised, the massive update for Grand Theft Auto VI is out there and joins the ranks of games getting talked about for gamescom. Not that anyone thought that Rockstar Games needed the event to help spread the word of this title, but it happened nonetheless. Weirdly, it was all handled by Netflix for some reason, but we will not get into that level of weirdness to explore. Instead, we will just focus on what we had to see for Grand Theft Auto VI and why some of us are going to be insanely excited to see what will be hitting the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19th. Wolverine One last look at the gameplay features for Marvel’s Wolverine is here, and it shows off how Wolverine will be upgraded The days are starting to get numbered until Marvel’s Wolverine launches on the PS5, and it looks as if Insomniac Games was looking to use gamescom as the perfect springboard to give us what we have all been waiting for. A solid look at the gameplay flow and extra mechanics that we can expect to employ out there in the game when September 15th gets here and we are in the savage world of Wolverine. Silent Hill Meet the cast of characters entering Silent Hill just a bit ahead of the full release for Silent Hill: Townfall We are just a month out from Silent Hill: Townfall, and with gamescom still going on, it does feel like it is the correct time to have a look at the cast of characters we are going to have in the game. Not just in terms of the actual characters, but the voices that Screen Burn and Konami have tapped in to bring them all to life. All to give us some bigger names in the industry to help with that, even if that is not going to be the end-all, be-all for the IP. Read More...

Halloween Learn a bit on how Matchmaking is going to work in Halloween: The Game and see how often you can be the Boogeyman for Halloween We are under two weeks out from Halloween: The Game landing on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC with a whole lot of hype starting to build for it all. Even if it is following the same structure that we have seen from IllFonic in other horror IPs, this one is getting a little more of a shakeup. Not just because we are getting a single-player mode for Halloween: The Game, but now it looks as if Gun Interactive is pushing forward with a new way to do matchmaking. No Ghosts At The Grand More of the cast for There Are No Ghosts At The Grand have been placed on display, but still No Ghosts At The Grand It always seems so sporadic when we get updates for There Are No Ghosts At The Grand, but it does seem that gamescom was the timeline for the next bit of fun to seep out there. Even if we have seen a lot of the same gameplay for a while now from Friday Sundae for the game, this one does the same, but gives us a little more to bite onto. Stage Tour The release date for Stage Tour is now set, with so many more things coming in Stage Tour than we knew I am starting to feel a little vindicated in my assumptions when it came to Stage Tour and when we were going to be able to jam out to the game. There was always a release date lined up for Winter of 2026 from RedOctane Games for the new rhythm game to drop out there, and now they have backed that up. They did that by giving us the official release date for Stage Tour during all of the madness of gamescom that is going on right now. Along with the fact that we can expect to see the game land on the Switch 2 along with the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC when December 10th flows on in. Read More...

Final Fantasy A new look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation is out there to show off some of the biggest enemies we will face from Final Fantasy VII It is time to get excited that gamescom has kicked off, as we have a big look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation out of the convention. Well, maybe not big in terms of length, but big in terms of what Square Enix is showing off to the world out there. Here we go with a new bit of story, some new summons, and the Weapons coming back into action. Stray Dog Get medieval with a Stray Dog in the recently announced action title Stray Dog: Nobody Cares for the PC It looks as if we might be getting a whole new genre of action games out there, as we now have Stray Dog: Nobody Cares announced and giving us another in a line of animals with swords in their mouths kind of games. Not a terrible thing, but Parry Frames Studio is now entering into an area where we've had a few already. Rock, Paper, Severed New multiplayer gameplay for Rock, Paper, Severed is out there, and it shows how brutal Rock, Paper, Severed is going to be We've been teased with the violence, and now we get to see how it is going to play out in Rock, Paper, Severed. Not just the general violence that Buzzin’ Games is putting into the game, but the amount that we're going to be dishing out to our friends in the game, as this is all about the multiplayer gameplay. Rock, Paper, Severed is a game all about taking the fingers of each other in the most messed up ways while trying to survive the horrible game out there, so it's not a massive surprise that is how things are going to go. A Plague Tale Learn a bit more of Sophia's past in A Plague Tale just ahead of the full launch for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy There are only a few more days until Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy hits the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, so it looks like it's time to get another little tease out there for the game. Not anything major, which does feel a bit off for Asobo Studio when it comes to this one, but I'm sure they're making the right choices for them. Metro The collector’s edition for Metro 2039 has been announced, and it will bring us all a bit deeper into the Metro While we still might not have a release date for Metro 2039 to hit the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC at this time, it does feel like that news is going to hit us all very soon. I say that, as 4A Games and Deep Silver have now let the cat out of the box to show off what we will be getting in the Collector's Edition of the game. It is not ready for pre-order as of yet, but all Metro fans are going to want to take note of this, as it brings the game to us physically and with a big extra bit for real life. That last part being that this edition will also house a full-size replica of the Stranger's Helmet from the game so we can wear it all while playing through all of the madness the IP is about to give us. Aliens It is finally time to showcase all of the Aliens that we are going to need to deal with in Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 The humans have all had their go at having a showcase out there for Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, and now it is time for some of the stars of the show to come forth. It is time for Cold Iron Studios and Daybreak Games to put the Xenomorphs on display to let us see what will be hunting us down on August 25th. As long as you're willing to scream out there on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC. Wolverine Get more looks for Wolverine if you end up going for the Digital Deluxe Edition For Marvel’s Wolverine The days are ticking down for us all to get into the action of Marvel’s Wolverine. Even if there are still a few issues out there for the physical editions that so many were hoping to see from Insomniac Games for this one. Specifically, with a collector's edition, but the game is still coming to us on September 15th, so we cannot be too upset.
