The Surge 2 Cuts Us All Deep With Some New Gameplay
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 27th of June 2019 - 05:00 PM ]
The Surge Gameplay for The Surge 2 is out here now with some developer commentary to explain what has changed for The Surge 2 since we last played We finally have some gameplay for The Surge 2 to take in and see more than the cinematic changes that have been placed into the game from Deck 13. I know all I have seen in the past for the game has been some fancy pre-rendered trailers but now we see all of the limb-slicing and robot dodging action that we should have expected for this franchise. That and how some of the new online features will work in The Surge 2. Something I am sure will cause some issues in the game, but it is what it is. Read More...

The Surge 2 Gets All Cinematic Out At E3 2019
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 13th of June 2019 - 07:00 PM ]
The Surge A new cinematic trailer for The Surge 2 is here to give us one more feel for how The Surge 2 may play out The hype train is still rolling for The Surge 2 as we have another cinematic trailer to look at fresh out of E3. Sadly, you read that correctly as I did say cinematic and not actual gameplay. Something that feels like a misstep on Deck 13's side of things as this would be one of the times to try and highlight actual gameplay. You know, something that many of us have not been able to see for The Surge 2 yet. Read More...

The Surge 2 Has An Official Release Date Now In September
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 4th of June 2019 - 09:00 PM ]
The Surge The release date for The Surge 2 is now set and just as it was rumored before, we can look for The Surge 2 to hit us this September It looks like we can put the rumors and leaks to rest as we have the official release date for The Surge 2 directly from the source. It was greatly rumored and speculated on after a little leak happened that this game would be hitting the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 23rd of this year. It would make sense given the timeline we have had since Deck 13 showed we were getting this sequel. But that date was wrong. Read More...

New Screenshots Have Made Their Way Out For The Surge 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 15th of April 2019 - 09:00 PM ]
The Surge A batch of new screenshots for The Surge 2 are here to give us a slight look at the game and possible new mechanics for The Surge 2 In the past week, Focus Home Interactive hosted one of their media events that aimed to show more for the games that they will be publishing with The Surge 2 being in the mix of them all. Not too much has seemed to have come out of the event as of yet as it was most likely a lot of first looks and current looks at all of the games with embargoes placed down to keep the coverage at bay for a bit. Whatever the case may be, Deck 13 was there with the current stuff they have for The Surge 2 and giving a small show of what will be coming to the game later in this year. Read More...

It’s Time For The Good, The Bad, And The Augmented In The Surge
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 6th of September 2018 - 05:00 PM ]
The Surge The next DLC for The Surge is here to look at and it looks like we are going to have a western in our Sci-Fi of a RPG in The Surge It looks like the DLC train for The Surge has not stopped as we have a new bit coming at us now with The Good, The Bad, And The Augmented. While Deck 13 is working on the next title in the franchise, it does look like there was some time to put us all in a Wild West themed version of the game here to add to the Sci-Fi fun we have been having so far. That seems like a weird sentence to write, but given some of our entertainment currently, this can fit into The Surge I guess. We will know for certain on October 2nd when it hits the PS4, Xbox One, and PC though. Read More...

The Surge 2 Is Coming & It Will Take Us To Some New Places
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 7th of February 2018 - 10:00 PM ]
The Surge It has been announced that The Surge 2 is in development and as of right now, The Surge 2 is slated to hit consoles and PC in 2019 It looks like Focus Home Interactive has announced a new title out of Le What’s Next de Focus this year and that title is The Surge 2. After the success of the last one and its DLC, it looks like they have opted to have Deck 13 bring us all a full sequel and bring it to the PC, Xbox One, and PS4 sometime in 2019. Love it or hate it, The Surge 2 is coming and it looks like they are doing what every sequel does; builds upon the past work to make a better title. You thought I was going to say something different there did you not? Read More...

Take A Little Walk In The Park With The Surge's Next Expansion
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 20th of November 2017 - 10:00 PM ]
The Surge Have a look at The Surge's next big DLC to come that shows off just what would happen in an amusement park after events for The Surge occur Attention all of you gluttons for punishment. It looks like the next big DLC for The Surge is almost here and now we have a fun tease to see what it will most likely hold within. A safe guess would be that Deck 13 has added a lot more in the way of deadly robots out there trying to kill us non-stop, but if you are not a guessing human you will be happy to see that there is a bit more than that. Of course, Focus Home Interactive has dropped a new teaser for this DLC for The Surge called A Walk In The Park so there will not be much in the way of speculation as to what we will have to face off with. Review — The Surge
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 17th of May 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
The Surge We sit down and review The Surge. It's almost like a Sci-Fi version of Dark Souls with other risks involved. Here's our review of The Surge Just as its name, The Surge popped into our lives and then was out for us to play in short order. That's not to say that Deck 13 didn't put in the effort to make it a great game, but we first caught wind of it not too long ago and now here we are giving it a review. Of course, Focus Home Interactive does have a lot of titles in the pipe currently and during the lead up to The Surge finally being released so maybe that is why we had what felt like a rush from announce to release. We aren't here for all that speculation though. Read More...

We Can All Make A Difference When The Surge Launches
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 12th of May 2017 - 05:00 PM ]
The Surge With The Surge just about to launch we get a new cinematic trailer for The Surge as well as a look at one of the boss fights in the game We are almost here as The Surge launches next week on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It has been a fun ride so far with a lot of questions still needing answers from Deck 13, but now that we are a few days away it seems like a moot point as we'll be able to answer them all for ourselves here. Of course that doesn't help with the whole figuring out our thoughts on The Surge before it launches, but I am sure that Focus Home Interactive would rather us just take the plunge and hope for the best instead of knowing everything and opting to possibly not picking up the game. I'm not suggesting it one way or another, so please don't think that, but it is how it is. Read More...

Go Behind The Scenes With The Surge & Learn More Of The World
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 4th of May 2017 - 05:00 PM ]
The Surge A behind the scenes video for The Surge has been released and it gives us more insight into all of the things going on in The Surge that we've questioned In just under two weeks we will be playing The Surge on our PS4, Xbox One, or PC depending on your choice. While we've seen a lot for this action-RPG title so far, I know I've been left with quite a few questions that have been left unanswered by Deck 13 in a few different arenas. One of them being the main focus of The Surge's combat in terms of the limb severing system. It's been mentioned so many times and "shown" just as often but for the life of me I have yet to figure it out based on what we've been given. Read More...

Let's Dive Into Some Great Combat For The Surge
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 20th of April 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
The Surge We have more gameplay for The Surge and this also gives us all some more of the combat for The Surge just a bit before the game's launch Here we go with more combat for The Surge to get us all ready for its release on May 16th. This is something we've seen a whole lot of over the last few months and weeks as Deck 13 has been showcasing one of the bigger features in the limb severing system they have in the game to make everything insanely deadly. That is at least one of the goals here for The Surge and hopefully it will make more sense when we get the game in our hands as I am still a bit confused on if it is a targeting system or just the luck of the draw kind of system based on where you hit. I'm going to bank on the latter here for now based on what we have here. Read More...

The Surge Has Gone Gold & Getting Some Day One Updates
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 14th of April 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
The Surge It is official that The Surge has hit gold status and it also looks like The Surge will be getting some PS4 Pro updates at launch and soon after I could have sworn this was news before but none the less it looks like The Surge has officially gone to gold status for us all. Pretty much locking in the release date that we have been given before from Deck 13 for the game, but now there is no take backs. It is set and final and now we can all sit back and wait for The Surge to hit the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 16th. It's done, set, and getting ready to be packaged up and shipped out. Read More...

The Surge Is Letting Us Target Some Limbs & Then Take The Spoils
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 6th of April 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
The Surge The limb cutting mechanic for The Surge has a new trailer to try and show it off as well as the loot and crafting system that The Surge will employ Here we go with yet another video for The Surge and this time it is slated toward a mechanic I have been trying to wrap my head around in the game. Deck 13 has stated that there is a limb cutting mechanic in the game and has shown it off a few times before. From what I've seen in the past for The Surge it looks like just how it sounds as limbs do come off when hit, but what I have yet to understand is just how we do this without just flailing wild and hoping for the best. Be Stronger, Faster, & Tougher As The Surge Has A Release Date
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 17th of March 2017 - 05:00 PM ]
The Surge The final release date for The Surge has been set and with it we have another fun CG video for The Surge to celebrate and get us amped up even more It looks like today is the day that we change The Surge's May release date into a solid May 16th release date as it has now been set for us. This was about when I figured that Deck 13 would be looking to release the game, but now it is confirmed and those waiting to give it a good play can now try to shuffle their schedules around to fit it in. There are already a few other great titles listed as launching on the same day, but all in different gameplay styles than The Surge so now you will have options and yet another title to put in when you need to break up the flow or monotony of the others out there. New Gameplay For The Surge Shows How We Are Helping Combat Climate Change
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 17th of February 2017 - 10:00 PM ]
The Surge The next gameplay video for The Surge has been released and shows us fourteen more minutes of The Surge and more of the story We've had some gameplay before for The Surge and now it looks like it is high time for us to get some more. Of course we always want more but Deck 13 needs to be able to keep some of it to themselves until May when the game lands on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Digressing aside though, here we are again with more gameplay for The Surge and this time it is more combat and a few new areas of the game to look at. The first time around I saw that the combat was a bit on the clunky side and barring any real detail it looked a bit broken. Read More...
