Today Valve released downloadable content on both the PC and the Xbox 360.  Called the Survival Pack, the DLC provides new campaign maps for the Versus Mode and an entirely new gameplay option, Survival Mode.  Also included are various patches and fixes to improve the overall gameplay by covering up the glitches and bugs found in the game post-release.  In Versus Mode, teams of players take turns being the survivors trying to escape and the special infected bent on stopping them.  The addition of new campaigns has been widely sought by the community at large. Announced in the Team Fortress 2 blog, Valve has begun a process that will be de-listing servers they deem as "bad."  Using number of connections and player time on the server as the main factors in judgment, they calculated a score for each server and those servers in a certain block (my guess is a percentage), were removed from the master server listing system.  Password-protected and low-use (less than 200 connections) servers were excluded from the search and destroy mission.Once again Valve is making owning one of their software titles a treat and a vacation from released garbage put on shelves only to remove $50 or $60 from your pocket. Yesterday, Valve began the unveiling process on their new Team Fortress 2 update adding new achievement weapons.  This time to the Scout class.  Quick and wiry, the scout is listed as an offensive class, but as anyone who has put time in the trenches will tell you, the scout can also be a formidable defense class.  With the new site in place, Valve plans to release a bit of new information each day.  For day 1, they released information on the new weapon to replace the bat, called The Sandman. Today, Valve has announced a platform that will store game applications online so that gamers can access them from any PC. Affectionately titled Steam Cloud, the November zombie thriller Left 4 Dead will ship with out-of-the-box support. According to Valve, the Steam Cloud "just works," meaning that any changes a gamer makes to configurations in-game such as button layouts, difficulty settings, or multiplayer options will be automatically delegated to the user’s Steam Cloud account on another computer. Many great new games are coming out this upcoming holiday season and fortunately for me, I had a chance to play some at this year's Penny Arcade Expo (PAX). One of the must talked about games, Left 4 Dead (L4D), was available to play at Valve's booth. Throughout the whole convention, the L4D booth was packed to the gills with people eager to kill some zombies. Much anticipated Valve game, Left 4 Dead, has been pushed back until November 20th. At least this is still in time for the holiday season, so you can eat your christmas cookies while blastig zombies away. At least I know I will be! Today, Valve released a whole bunch of updates for Team Fortress 2. Of the updates come 2 (not so new) maps. Valve has been keeping a close eye on it's servers and it seems that it picked it's 2 favorite user-created maps and stuffed them into today's TF2 Update. CP_Fastlane and CTF_Turbine are now available to you - so you can join these servers without having to wait to download them.On another note, Valve's second installment of the TF2 Achievement updates has also been released today. Over the weekend a handful of updates were released for all you STEAM users out there. If you've already restarted your Steam client since yesterday then it's already been installed. First off, Valve updated the Steam client last week, fixing some bugs and compatibility problems that some of you may or may not have been experiencing. And then again yesterday came two update bundles for those of you who have either FRONTLINES: Full of War and/or Garry's Mod on your Steam account.
