Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier In Real Life
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 30th of March 2010 - 01:40 PM ]
Looks like Ubisoft might be gearing up to go into feature films, or at least shorts sometime soon. First they do a live action short based on all the beginning story to Assassin's Creed II. Something that was produced very well and added quite a bit of extra content to the overall experience of the game. At least it did for me. But the Assassin's Creed short looks like it was just the tip of the iceberg for Ubisoft's short films. Read More...

Splinter Cell Conviction Screens Sneaking Out
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 15th of February 2010 - 07:53 PM ]
Almost a year ago, we were all blown away with the visuals of Splinter Cell Conviction. Never playing one before seeing the video at the Ubisoft conference, I was overly intrigued with what Ubisoft had done with this game. Which of course led to the disappointment on never knowing when it was coming out. At least that was up until Ubisoft set the date in stone earlier this week. Which all of this of course means, here comes a few more visuals for the game. Read More...

Review: Assassin's Creed Bloodlines
by Ben Brody [ Wednesday, 2nd of December 2009 - 05:39 PM ]
As I was about to board my flight for the trip, I thought I might pick up something to help the trip go by faster. I understood that buying inside the airport usually meant higher prices, but I managed to find a reasonably priced PSP Assassin's Creed Bloodlines bundle, which came with the game, a Silver PSP-3000, a code redeemable for a DLC version of Angels and Demons, and a 2gb memory stick. Sure, I already had the PSP-1000 and I did know that the 3000's screens were crap at best, but I decided to get one anyhow seeing as that my launch unit's screen was fairly beaten up, scratched, and the fact that the audio only worked through the headphones as the speakers had found a way to stop working about 2 weeks before. Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed isn't new to the handheld world, Altair's Chronicles was released to the Nintendo DS and iPhone earlier, however this was the first time that they would try putting the full free-roam style gameplay on a handheld. Review: Assassin's Creed 2
by Ben Brody [ Saturday, 21st of November 2009 - 11:07 PM ]
Assassin's Creed had very few pitfalls: a repetitive story mode, inability to swim, and repetitive animations. AC2 fixes all these issues, and more. When Ubisoft came out with AC, it was the only gun-free, action oriented, free roam game, and up until AC2, it stayed that way. It was a risky move on their part in a predominately FPS dominated world. It paid off and did more than justify a sequel. In a world of gun oriented, short single player mode, multiplayer based games, AC2 isn't, and it is just as awesome as any other game out there. Read More...

Tom Clancy Presents... More Ways To Take Your Money
by Kevin [ Thursday, 5th of November 2009 - 02:20 AM ]
Ubisoft isn't satisfied with having several high profile titles on the way, nor are they satisfied with simply releasing a game like Splinter Cell: Conviction - no, they key is releasing an edition with such an amount of assuredly irresistible goodness that you can't help buy commit heart and soul to the product. Is that the case here? Take a look. Read More...

Live Action Assassin's Creed Is Here
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 27th of October 2009 - 10:07 PM ]
We spoke about the short film for Assassin's Creed 2 hitting the web today. Also how it will only be available on Ubisoft's youtube account for the next 24 hours, according to them. Well here it is in all of it's live action grandeur. Watch it and marvel at the quality they placed into this short history of Ezio. Now that you have had a chance to take a gander, what do you think? I'd say they have actually gone above and beyond with this little clip. Read More...

Oh The Brütality Of Assassin's Creed 2
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 17th of October 2009 - 04:17 PM ]
The combat in the first Assassin's Creed was nothing to write home to mom about. You had the few weapons and the few stances and moves you could employ. You couldn't even use you hidden blades for anything other assassinations and counter moves. It just wasn't all that extravagant. This was something that Ubisoft definitely wanted to fix. That and the variety of guards that you had to take down to move about the game world. Something I know I wished for when going through the first play through. Read More...

If you were not excited for the new Assassin's Creed yet, this new trailer, fresh from TGS, will do some more to get you interested in playing this sequel. Or at least following the story of Assassin's Creed. As if you haven't been already. Am I right? Assassinating Variety
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 16th of September 2009 - 07:38 PM ]
In Assassin's Creed the missions were awesome the first time you played the mission type. After the 20th time you had to find an informant before you could go and assassinate someone it got very repetitive. I know I got bored with these missions very fast and wouldn't have completed the game had it not been for a very intriguing story. But that was the saving grace for me. That and my unmatched need to finish a game while grabbing all the little story elements as possible. Read More...

Assassinating Never Looked So Good
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 3rd of September 2009 - 07:52 PM ]
As Ubisoft promised, just before PAX we are given the little gem of an Assassin's Creed 2 gameplay video. Why they did it before, I have no clue. But I'm not going to complain and neither will you after you get to see how awesome the new game has shaped up. So many more improvements over the first Assassin's Creed and so many new features added, not that the first one was rubbish. It wasn't at all. Ubisoft just did the sequel very right. Read More...

Not Your Normal Avatar
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 25th of August 2009 - 01:48 AM ]
James Cameron's Avatar - Screens and Video We've all been bored with the speculation. We've all been bored with the waiting for any information about this game. We've all been bored by listening to James Cameron babble on about what may or may not be included in the game for his next big block buster. Can you honestly say you were not bored and let down by everything that came up about Avatar before the huge trailer showing at Comic Con? I didn't think so. Read More...

by Binh Nguyen [ Wednesday, 5th of August 2009 - 11:01 AM ]
Do we really need another collector's edition from another high end game? In this case, yes we do. Assassin Creed II is joining Batman and Modern Warfare2 for the collectors edition party. It was announced Monday (August 3rd, 2009) on the Assassin Creed twitter that the second installment of the game will have a Limited Edition Gamestop Exclusive of Assassin Creed II. Splinter Cell Conviction delayed.............. again
by Ben Brody [ Tuesday, 28th of July 2009 - 02:28 PM ]
Splinter Cell Conviction, surprise surprise, has been pushed back, again. Having been slightly delayed from its Holidays 2007 release date, it can't hurt to be pushed back again, can it? This year's E3 gameplay of SCC was downright amazing (I did give it my best of show). I was surprised at everything from how detailed the graphics were to how realistic the AI reacted. It did seem like a complete package. Ubisoft, however, sees otherwise and has delayed the game back to March of 2010. Read More...
