Review: The Walking Dead: Episode 1
by Matt Waitt [ Thursday, 26th of April 2012 - 10:02 PM ]
Developed and Published by Telltale Games this episodic game takes place within The Walking Dead universe. While some characters share the names of those in the comic and TV show, it is a whole new story. The Walking Dead is a point and click game with "precision" quick-time events. Instead of simply hitting a button you have to aim in a specific spot and then hit a button. I sat down to play The Walking Dead expecting a quick little hour or so session but I soon found myself sucked in to the characters and their story. I actually finished the game in one session. We recently were given a look at The Walking Dead's game play via Telltale's debut trailer but it wasn't much more than a few seconds. A few seconds of very little compared to what the latest episode of Playing Dead has to show us. While the episode is about 15 minutes long, if you jump to the 7 minute mark you will get a glimpse at about 3 minutes of the game. Spoiler, it looks like it handles just as one would expect from Telltale. Take a watch. Read More...

Review: Poker Night At The Inventory
by Corey Dockendorf [ Friday, 3rd of December 2010 - 07:09 PM ]
The guys over at Telltale Games recently released a title called Poker Night At The Inventory, which pits you against some infamous characters from the gaming universe. It's an interesting deviation from your typical Telltale fare like Sam&Max and The Tales Of Monkey Island series. The title is $4.99 on Steam right now, so let's see how it holds up. The game starts in front of a door where you head down a secret elevator leading to an exclusive club: "The Inventory." Here you are greeted by the host who escorts you to a table in the back room for a poker tournament with The Heavy from Team Fortress 2, Strong Bad (nuff said), Tycho from Penny Arcade and Max from Sam&Max. Review: Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures Episode 4: The Bogey Man
by Brian Bentley [ Thursday, 3rd of September 2009 - 05:22 AM ]
If you wish to read my review of Episode 1: Fright of the Bumblebees and get more background, click here. My review of Episode 2: The Last Resort is here. The most recent, Episode 3: Muzzled! is here. All good things must come to an end, so they say. As it is in overused quotes, so it is with the delightful Wallace&Gromit's Grand Adventures from Telltale Games. This marks the fourth and final tale of England's favourite inventor and his clever canine companion. Alliteration aside, Episode 4: The Bogey Man closes up any holes left in the moderately overarching narrative of the tetralogy while leaving more than adequate room to follow up with a new story for this duo. Review of Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures Episode I: The Fright of the Bumblebees
by Brian Bentley [ Tuesday, 24th of March 2009 - 10:47 PM ]
Telltale Games has a formula for success and this time they have added a British compound to their already stellar lineup of point-and-click, episodic games (Sam&Max, Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People).  Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Adventures begins its four episode run today with “Fright of the Bumblebees.”  Wallace and Gromit are the main characters of a British animated series developed by Nick Price of Aardman Animations.  Using stop-motion clay animation, the series depicts Wallace, an absent-minded inventor, and his silent, faithful companion Gromit.
