We Could Be Seeing The Next Mirror's Edge Real Soon
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 6th of May 2015 - 05:00 PM ]
EA's financial report for the year has been made available and it lists Mirror's Edge, and other titles, within that time line Since we were first told that Mirror's Edge was getting its sequel from DICE at E3 one of the big questions has always been "when?" It's been some time for the franchise and I know I want Mirror's Edge 2 sooner rather than later as it was one of the more game changing titles I had played in quite some time. But back then there was nothing. Now after the financial reports from EA have been given out to the world we have a better time frame of early 2016 to have Mirror's Edge 2 getting a release. Fresh off the heals of the Star Wars Battlefront reveal we have our first developer diary from EA DICE Last week we had a nice little reveal of how Star Wars Battlefront is going to look in the new incarnation of the game. It was also talked about the 40-person multiplayer matches, the ability to play as Vader or the Fett-man, also a whole slew of locations, and lastly in first-person or third-person modes. All of this when Star Wars Battlefront launches on November 17th for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. All of the information we should have known if we watched everything that DICE and EA gave to us last week of course. Read More...

Rumor Mill: New Mirror’s Edge 2 Details
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 12th of March 2014 - 05:00 PM ]
Some new Mirror’s Edge 2 rumors have surfaced online. They are unverified but lets take a look at them. So many "leaks" lately and this time we have some new leaked info for Mirror’s Edge 2. Yea, Mirror’s Edge 2. A game that many gamers, myself included, have been waiting for while EA and DICE had been coy about until last year's E3 when it was announced and they were still coy about everything. Well is would seem that someone over at Rocket Chainsaw claims to have some new insider information that they can confirm. EA and DICE obviously, like every other publisher/developer out there, do not comment on rumors and speculation. Read More...

The Last Of Us Cleaned Up Nicely At The DICE Awards
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 7th of February 2014 - 06:00 PM ]
At The 17th Annual DICE Awards Last Night (2/6/14) It Looks Like The Last Of Us Cleaned Up Nicely. The Amazing Title Racked Up 10 Awards. Last night (2/6/14) wrapped up the 17th Annual DICE Awards and it looks like there was one clear winner; The Last Of Us from Naughty Dog. It picked up almost every win that it was nominated for to boot on losing out to titles like BioShock Infinite, World Of Tanks, GTAV, and technically The Last Of Us (It had two nominations in one category). In fact those were the only three that The Last Of Us didn't pick up out of the thirteen categories it was nominated for. That is more than half of the twenty-four total categories that were up for review, if you do the basic math. Read More...

Battlefield 3 Battleblogs
by Matt Waitt [ Monday, 19th of September 2011 - 06:11 PM ]
So in my travels around the land of the internet I've come across some pretty cool stuff in regards to Battlefield 3. If you head on over to their website they've been giving some pretty sweet updates via their "BattleBlog" such as some co-op campaign and Multiplayer details. So instead of being lazy and having you run over to the website yourselves, which you should do anyways, I'm going to do my job. Now I did not know about this "BattleBlog" until a couple days ago, so hopefully I'm not too far behind. Multiplayer Goodies! Read More...

Review: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (Single Player)
by Michael Camacho [ Friday, 12th of March 2010 - 12:00 AM ]
"B" Squad, AKA Bad Company, is back! EA and DICE have returned with a much improved sequel with Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Hope you are ready for the next mission filled with more explosions, more destruction, and even more laughs. You return as Preston Marlowe, along with your entire squad from the first game, consisting of Terrance Sweetwater, George Haggard, and Samuel "Sarge" Redford. But before you get to play the games from the eyes of Private Marlowe, the game takes you on a trip to the past. You begin in Japan on a mission set during World War II. Read More...

In Corollary To Real Warfare
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 8th of July 2009 - 07:43 PM ]
Battlefield 1943 Launch Trailer A few things have happened in the world over the last week or two. Outside of "famous" people loosing their mortal coil. We've celebrated our freedom, US at least. We've lost some more people who give us our freedoms. We've gained a game that lets a simulate what people have gone through to give us these freedoms. That game being Battlefield 1943. Well at least console gamers have gained the game. Read More...

E3 Impressions: Battlefield Bad Company 2
by Ben Brody [ Sunday, 7th of June 2009 - 06:29 PM ]
The boys from Bad Company are back and are in even more trouble as they face off in the cold Russian winter. While the focus of the Battlefield Bad Company series is certainly on the singleplayer campaign mode, the E3 demonstration was of a gold rush-style multiplayer map.Gold rush is essentially the same as it is from the first game, a team of attackers vs a team of defenders fighting over crates gold. While it is no longer called "gold rush" (the crates no longer contain gold) the objective is the same, secure and plant explosives on 8 crates (4 series of 2) or vice versa for the defenders. The multiplayer classes have been trimmed from 5 classes to 4 (support is no longer in the game), and while I prefer more classes (my favorite game in the series, Battlefield 2, has 7 playable classes with the option to play as the commander), I understand that it makes the game more accessible to gamers new to the series. We Need Some Support Up Here Now
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 22nd of May 2009 - 04:22 PM ]
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Trailer and Screen Shots When the first game came out, EA was totally trying to show their lighter side with some pretty funny clips and shots from the game. Something that most of us got use to seeing and having a good laugh at to get us excited about the game. For some reason that is unknown to me, it would seem they are going a different route with this one. At least from the start. I'm expecting to see some things like that in the future, but for now, we get some serious stuff. Read More...

[PS3 Review] Mirror's Edge
by Michael Camacho [ Friday, 14th of November 2008 - 04:23 AM ]
Mirror’s Edge, developed by DICE and utilizing the Unreal 3 Engine along with a dynamic lighting engine in Beast, is set in what seems to be a beautiful and utopian city. But all is not what it seems, and the city is actually heavily controlled and monitored by a totalitarian regime. To evade the watchful eye of Big Brother, runners are employed to relay information. This is where the main character, Faith, comes into the story. After her parents were killed by the government for actively protesting against the regime, she grew up on the streets. Read More...

Mirror's Edge Gameplay Trailer Debuts
by Michael Camacho [ Tuesday, 6th of May 2008 - 10:53 PM ]
Debuting today is the official Gameplay Trailer of Mirror's Edge from EA developer DICE. It shows off the acrobatics of the lead character, Faith, who is a runner for criminal organizations. The basis of the story is she is trying to free her sister who is imprisoned by the totalitarian government that is pursuing her during her exploits. Routes are easily spotted by the color red, yet there isn't always one route you can take to get to your destiniation. Also the game allows you to defend yourself in a variety of ways, as you can utilize weapons taken from your attackers, or never use a weapon and find other means of defeating anyone in your way.
