This Week In Video Games 11/13/17 — 11/17/17
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 18th of November 2017 - 12:00 AM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week There we go with another great week of video games in the bag and so much more to go on with. Even as we head into the "big lull" where everyone is just playing what they currently have or are waiting for titles that we will not see until next year, we had a good chunk of news and updates to cover. We even had a chance to get our review of Horizon Zero Dawn's latest expansion out there for you. All while enjoying what we have for Injustice 2, Far Cry 5, and Final Fantasy XV in the mix. Do Not Expect Vampyr To Bleed Your Wallet With DLC
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 15th of November 2017 - 08:00 PM ]
Vampyr In a recent interview for Vampyr, it was revealed that the team does not want to do any DLC for Vampyr but plan for a sequel based on sales In a recent interview for DontNod's upcoming Vampyr, a few interesting things for the game were revealed but sadly still no solid release date for the PS4, Xbox One, or PC. It is still set for "early 2018" and I am going to venture a guess around E3 or so. Nonetheless, there were some interesting facts about Vampyr that did come to light outside of when Focus Home Interactive will deem it a full success or not. Read More...

Vampyr Will Stalk The Darkness A Bit More As It Is Delayed
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 20th of September 2017 - 07:00 PM ]
Vampyr It looks like Vampyr has been given a delay due to a technical issue and now we can look for Vampyr to come to us sometime in Spring of 2018 Mark another title down for delay as Vampyr has been struck with just that and will be missing it release date that was supposed to be this year. There was never a specific date set down, but it looks like DontNod ran into an issue to the point that they had to push the release off to Spring of 2018. Another ambiguous date thrown out there for Vampyr, but it looks like we may have to wait as long as April of 2018 to finally see the game see the light of day on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. I guess we can all focus on the fact that it has not been hit with a cancellation and just hope for the best. Read More...

by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 23rd of June 2017 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here's a recap of what we covered in the world of video games on the site this week This was one jam packed week of news and updates for all of our video games now wasn't it? Of course it was. It was the week after E3 and there was still so much more to talk about before sticking a fork in it all until next year or the next big event in the industry. We did get to Call Of Cthulhu, Vampyr, and Werewolf: The Apocalypse to name a few but we also had a chance to bring more to you for Hunt: Showdown. That was all the stuff out of E3 directly too and there were so many more video games to look at and think about. Read More...

E3 2017 Impressions — Vampyr
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 20th of June 2017 - 09:00 PM ]
Vampyr While at E3 2017 I was able to see Vampyr in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on Vampyr From E3. We were all promised more for Vampyr at E3 this year and we were not let down. Even the bit that was shown off to the public out there was still a massive chunk of what DontNod has cooked up for us all. You can see some of that gameplay further down but it was only a small slice of what I was able to check out for Vampyr while on the show floor. While we may not have been able to pry out a solid release date in November for the game, Focus Home Interactive still has that on lock, we did get to see a lot more for this open-world horror title coming to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC where all of your killing choices in the game will have some form of effect on the rest of the world. There Is Always A Price When Embracing The Darkness Within For Vampyr
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 21st of December 2016 - 10:00 PM ]
Vampyr A new trailer for Vampyr has been released and it lets us have a look at Vampyr's story in a way that shows how the world is always changing with our actions It seems like it is a bit out of place given the time right now, but none the less, we have a new trailer for Vampyr to gaze upon. This of course being the most recent title that Dontnod is cooking up for us. You know, the vampire one that takes place during the Spanish Flu epidemic. The one where we are a doctor during those times who has also been just recently turned Vampyr. Read More...

Let's Sink Our Teeth Into Vampyr's Combat & Upgrading System
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 30th of September 2016 - 07:00 PM ]
Vampyr A few new screenshots for Vampyr have been released and with those come a few updates on how combat in Vampyr will actually work We've seen the combat in Vampyr a bit in motion already but there wasn't any real explanation on how it all plays or why we need to do anything other than the amazing supernatural attacks that we've seen Jonathan do. I think this is part and partial to Dontnod not really showing much of the game since it was officially announced but also, as I am sure, Focus Home Interactive wanted them to hold off so they could hype the game a bit more. Thankfully that hype is on us right now as we have a better explanation on just how Vampyr's combat system is going to work and mix into the core game in general. Read More...

Have Some Gameplay For Vampyr To Gaze Into Its Soul
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 26th of August 2016 - 05:00 PM ]
Vampyr Another gameplay video for Vampyr has been placed online for us to watch and see if there is something new to spy for Vampyr after all of its showings It's always a good day when you get new gameplay for an upcoming game we are all excited about so I was over joyed when I saw that we have more gameplay for Vampyr. Ever since it was first announced by Dontnod and then showcased by Focus Home Interactive I was ready for the game to launch now even though it is still slated to come in 2017 at some point. I've tried to stay up on all of the news and tidbits here for Vampyr and now another video has been uploaded for us to watch right out of Gamescom. Read More...

E3 2016 Impressions — Vampyr
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 22nd of June 2016 - 05:00 PM ]
Vampyr While at E3 I was able to see Vampyr in a more intimate setting than just a trailer. Here's my take on Vampyr In a nice dark room on the E3 floor we were able to spy upon Vampyr in action. For those who still haven't followed along, this is the new title from Dontnod that places us in the middle of the Spanish Flu epidemic of 1918 in the role of a doctor who has recently been turned into a vampire. We've had a lot of news on Vampyr so far so hopefully you are up to date but if not then here are our first impressions of the game in action before all of the rest of the information from Focus Home Interactive drops between now and when it launches on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC next year. One of the big aspects of Vampyr is the fact that your actions and dialog choices will affect everything in the world. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 5/23/16 — 5/27/16
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Friday, 27th of May 2016 - 11:00 PM ]
Video Games A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games Another week in video games in the bag and now we get to move on to the next. This should have been a slower week given the proximity of E3 now but there was plenty rolling out to get us all prepped for the event. We had a few sneak peeks of sorts with Vampyr and Umbrella Corps here as well as the announcement of a new title Absolver to see. Then of course we were able to get the nice big review for Homefront: The Revolution out there for you after waiting for the updates to fix some of the major issues with the game. Read More...

New Vampyr Screenshots Ask 'Who Will You Kill?'
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Tuesday, 24th of May 2016 - 05:00 PM ]
Vampyr New screenshots for Vampyr have been released and they show off the duality of Vampyr's protagonist as every kill will have an effect on the game's world Slowly but surely we are getting to see Vampyr evolve into an amazing looking title. Now we have a whole new batch of screenshots from Dontnod to show off a bit of the game's world as well as some of the choices that Reid has to make in the game. Reid of course being the main character we will be controlling in Vampyr when it finally hits the PS4, Xbox One, and PC sometime in 2017. Hopefully Focus Home Interactive will be able to get this out the door in the earlier parts of the year but I'm going to guess it will be some time in the middle of the year. Read More...

This Week In Video Games 3/7/16 — 3/11/16
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Saturday, 12th of March 2016 - 12:00 AM ]
Video Games A Lot Has Gone On This Week. Here's A Recap Of What We Covered In Video Games There we go with another week of video games in the bag. It was a bit more on the slow side given the proximity to GDC but that doesn't mean there wasn't much to see and experience in gaming. We had more to look at for Vampyr and we have more to look forward to for Portal. We are all prepped for DOOM's beta that is upcoming and it looks like Overwatch will be entering an early access as well. Like I said, all kind of news and updates on this slow week for video games. Gameplay For Vampyr Has Made It Out Of The Coffin
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 7th of March 2016 - 10:00 PM ]
Vampyr The first bit of gameplay for Vampyr has made it online with a bit of a developer overview to let us see how Vampyr may run in its final form So far we have been given very little for Vampyr and at most it has been concept art and screenshots. Little is still known to the mass public on what Dontnod is building here outside of the very basics. It is a vampire game set in the era of the early 1900's in London. Also our choices on whom we kill are going to matter. Read More...

More On Vampyr Rises From Beyond To Show Us Its Horrors
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Monday, 29th of February 2016 - 08:00 PM ]
Vampyr New screenshot for Vampyr have been released and they show off only a little bit more of Vampyr than we all knew was coming Yes Vampyr is still in production and still slated to hit the PS4, Xbox One, and PC sometime in 2017. It was a very silent announcement from Dontnod back when wind was first pick up for it but as Focus Home Interactive has been doing over the last few days we are getting another push and another reminder that the game is coming. This time though we are getting more screenshots for Vampyr and not just a quick reminder to keep us all salivating for more as the title may imply. At least for you blood suckers out there.
