Here We Go Again, WoW Rejected In China Again
by Corey Dockendorf [ Wednesday, 4th of November 2009 - 03:45 PM ]
And here we go again, the General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP) put a hold onto NetEase's request for World of Warcraft to be approved in China. This has been an ongoing battle for some time now. The9's license agreement with blizzard expired this year and was won by NetEase in April of this year. NetEase had a three year agreement for World of Warcraft only to have there application "passed up" due to "violating the rules". Here's the problem, The9 had this game in operation in china for four years, count 'em four years. Read More…

Review: Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time
by Ben Brody [ Wednesday, 4th of November 2009 - 01:59 PM ]
Ratchet and Clank has enjoyed a really good run these past 7 years, and A Crack in Time is a great cap to the "future" series. In what may be the final game in the series, Ratchet must rescue Clank from Dr. Nefarious (the villain from Up Your Arsenal, the third game in the series). Before we get in to deep, let's get a quick glance back at the Future trilogy thus far. In Tools of Destruction, an evil tyrant named Tachyon set out to revenge against the Lombax's for destroying his race. This is the first hint we get that Ratchet isn't the last Lombax in the galaxy. Aion - A Casual MMO Player's Impressions
by Michael Camacho [ Tuesday, 3rd of November 2009 - 08:38 PM ]
Disclaimer: This is not an official review of Aion, but will be from the perspective of a casual MMO player, and serves more as an impressions of my first month with the game. As of writing this, I have reached level 16 with Asmodyian Assassin and around level 10 with each of my 3 other characters. Aion is the latest MMORPG from Korean developer NCSoft, and was quick to break pre-order records amongst MMO tiles with over 400,000 pre-ordered. Aion utilizes the Crytek engine and produces beautiful results. Aion takes place in the world of Atreia, and you choose one of two opposing races of humans. Read More…

Review: DJ Hero (aka Last Night a DJ Hero Saved My Life)
by Kevin [ Tuesday, 3rd of November 2009 - 02:34 AM ]
Reinventing the Vinyl WheelYour palms sweat heavily as you approach the stage. There's a twitch, a solitary twinge of excitement racing through your veins and ready to explode from the tips of your fingers onto the vinyl that awaits you. The lights flicker and flash and the crowd roars as you make your entrance. You deftly weave between songs and paradoxical rhythmic patterns, cross-fading between sultry sirens and heard edged break beats. You match the intensity of the crowd with every pull of the record, every scratch rivaled by their increased volume. Read More…

Nintendo DLC For The Week Of 11/2/09
by Brian Bentley [ Monday, 2nd of November 2009 - 11:34 PM ]
When I looked at the list of downloadable content this week for Nintendo, I was shocked to see eight titles listed for the three "platforms" available. For so long, the Big 'N' was releasing one title a week on each platform: WiiWare, DSiWare and Virtual Console. Many people, including myself, asked why Nintendo was holding back, especially in light of the fact that first party titles haven't exactly been busting down retail doors in a short period of time. Unfortunately, when looking at what the public received, you begin to understand why the big push. Looking at the DSiWare selections this week, your attention is drawn immediately to the first party photo application, Sparkle Snapshots. Read More…

Interview With Vandal Hearts: Ryan Graff
by Binh Nguyen [ Monday, 2nd of November 2009 - 09:20 PM ]
It's been sometime since we heard anything from Konami about their Tactical Role-Playing Game Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment. It was rumored before that the game was going to be a remake of the PlayStation version of Vandal Hearts and was going to be released for the Nintendo DS. Well that is not the case as we were managed to get an interview from Ryan Graff, Vandal Hearts: Flame of Judgment Original Concept Writer, to answer some questions that we all have been wondering. Q: Why it has taken almost 10 years to get another Vandal Hearts game out. A: Needless to say, 10 years is a long time in the game business, and in that time, much of the original Vandal Hearts team has moved on. Read More…

In any instance, they announced the next installment and then went completely silent on things for the greater part of the year. Not even a tease or small foot note at any of the gaming conventions. Now enter the below video/teaser. Read More…

Nokia N-Gage: 2003-2010
by Ben Brody [ Saturday, 31st of October 2009 - 09:00 PM ]
The death of a system is usually taken hard by many (I'm looking at you Dreamcast fans), but I don't think very many people will be mourning for the loss of their N-Gage. Nokia's semi-failed gaming platform never got off the ground here in the US (or abroad really) in the face of Nintendo's systems and competition from Sony's PSP and Apple's iPhone did nothing to help. It's release in 2003 was met with lukewarm sales that paled in comparison to the Gameboy Advance. Second to it's gaming ability, it was also a cellphone, which attributed to it's $300 price tag. But what you are looking at is the God Of War III Ultimate Edition. A nice little collection that includes quite a bit of extras for us die hard fans that will be willing to shell out $99 to $120 for this edition. No, prices have not been stated yet outside of $99 at GameStop, but you can imagine this is going to be around the asking price for it. Just look at the Modern Warfare one and you can make the comparison. Read More…
