Straight Out Of CES Comes The LyteShot Kickstarter
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Wednesday, 7th of January 2015 - 03:00 PM ]
LyteShot, a new gaming platform, was shown off at CES 2015 and has had its Kickstarter campaign kicked off This may be the first time you've heard of LyteShot but I've heard a few things and had the pleasure of seeing things up close and personal at CES here this week. Nothing in action outside of the below Kickstarter video for the gaming platform but if you can use your imagination, as the platform wants, then you can see how this could be the next great addition to gaming; both video and physical. If you follow along here you may get to understand and have a hand in bringing the whole thing to light. Pun intended. Read More...

Miss Flappy Bird? Make Your Own Version Instead
by David 'Hades' Becker [ Thursday, 27th of February 2014 - 01:00 PM ]
If you missed out on the Flappy Bird craze or something the like, Code.org has a way for you to make your own version The Flappy Bird craze is something I missed before it went away. I'll be honest there. Also to be honest, I don't get why it was so insanely popular outside of the oddness or nostalgia of things being able to get most people to latch on to something. I could be right or I could be right. In either instance, all of you out there who also missed out or just plain miss Flappy Bird on your mobile there is a way to get it back as well as make the improvements you might have wanted. Their first big hit, Game Dev Story, turned a lot of heads, gaining critical acclaim for their simulation of running a video game development studio. Review: The AGlove, It's So Rad
by Corey Dockendorf [ Tuesday, 8th of March 2011 - 05:21 PM ]
Recently I just got back from vacation in Utah where I took on their cold weather, snow and a Park City Bobsled Run; all in the same day. As I was waiting for one of my buddies to finish their run, I thought I would play a little Gun Bros on my android phone. Now picture this. I'm on a mountain, in the freezing cold, standing in snow and about to take out my TOUCH-SCREEN phone and play a game. Impossible, I know. Normally I would desperately try to get enough heat to the tips of my fingers to actually use the touch screen just to unlock the stupid thing. Read More...

by Kevin [ Friday, 9th of April 2010 - 11:33 AM ]
This week, AggroGamer will be presenting a review for Dark Void, for a new series entitled, "Games You Missed, Which Might Not Be a Bad Thing." The first title to get this treatment will be the action title Dark Void that was developed by Airtight Games and published by Capcom for the PS3, 360 and PC on January 19, 2010. In the meantime, the more well received iteration of the game, Dark Void Zero will be headed to the iPhone and PC. This 8-bit title was celebrated for its controls and retro gameplay and graphics, and was often compared in a more favorable light to its big brother. Read More...

Sword & Poker: The .99 Cent iPhone Battery Killer
by Kevin [ Sunday, 24th of January 2010 - 03:03 PM ]
I've come across a multitude of titles in the App Store that attempt to bridge the gap between two gaming genres. There have been varying degrees of success for most of these games, but every now and again there's a title that not only dares to get the formula right - but sees fit to destroy the battery in my phone (which, admittedly, with an iPhone isn't too terribly difficult). In this case the game in question is "Sword&Poker" - and yes it is exactly what it sounds like.In the world of Sword & Poker, the always dreaded Lord of Chaos has snagged the equally ominous Stone of Creation and has formed a intricate dungeon to protect his dark intent. Chuck Brings the Pain to Your Mobile Device: Review
by Kevin [ Thursday, 10th of December 2009 - 12:07 AM ]
One of the few game developers that has never ceased to amaze me is Gameloft. I don't know what their development philosophy is, but it has consistently led to some great gaming experiences on mobile devices. To be perfectly honest, Chuck Norris: Bring On The Pain continues in that trend, turning the worn jokes concerning our favorite Texas Ranger into a pretty entertaining game.Over at the official site, Gameloft gives some insight as to what you are in for: "Step into the boots of America’s toughest man in the first Chuck Norris game available for your iPhone and iPod touch. A brilliantly outlandish scenario sets you, Chuck Norris, in the Cambodian jungle to release prisoners of war held hostage by a rogue army of Communist soldiers. Read More...

The Zune HD's Gaming Lineup
by Kevin [ Wednesday, 11th of November 2009 - 09:35 PM ]
"Loaded with multi-touch, accelerometer, and 3D graphics, Zune HD makes portable gaming even more exciting. All to the sound of your favorite music. Download free games from our catalog of popular titles like Vans Sk8: Pool Service and Audiosurf Tilt.", says Microsoft's Zune Site. Not one to allow Apple to comfortably situate itself atop the movie gaming market, Microsoft has rolled out some titles for the Zune HD. These titles range from new properties to some existing licenses. One of the advantages right off the bat for the Zune HD as a gaming platform -- and by extension as a mobile device in general -- is that it takes advantage of Microsoft Points. Read More...
