Have A Taste Of Mortal Kombat X Mobile In Action

We still have a little more time before we can dig into Mortal Kombat X Mobile. As of right now there has yet to be a release date for the free mobile title that will link into Mortal Kombat X proper but it has been stated sometime shortly after the April 14th launch of that title. What we do have though is a bit more on Mortal Kombat X Mobile and what we can expect to be different from the Injustice tie-in mobile game and this one. You can see all of this lower down the page from the latest Kombat Kast but here is a quicker breakdown for you.

First up is that Mortal Kombat X Mobile is being labeled as a collectible card game which sounds much different than what the Injustice game was like. Maybe the guys here didn't explain how that would work and how it will be different but I am not sure how that will work here. To be honest it looks like it will be closer to the fighting through tapping and swiping version we've already seen from Injustice. Hopefully we will get to see how that all plays out here for Mortal Kombat X Mobile as it sounds different but looks the same.

What will be different is that you will be selecting a champion character when playing Mortal Kombat X Mobile. This will most likely be your most played and leveled character used in the mobile game. What is interesting here is that at any time one of your friends can call your champion into their game to do a one-time massive attack based on your stats. Your bonus will be that you will get alliance points that will allow you to unlock more cards and extras in Mortal Kombat X Mobile so it will make sense to keep your best character selected.

Fatalities and X-ray moves will also be included in Mortal Kombat X Mobile with a twist. You'll be able to see two of them in action down in the video but they look to be exactly what we have in Mortal Kombat X. The twist here is that to pull them off in Mortal Kombat X Mobile you will have to interact with your touch screen to pull them off and successfully end your opponent. It also looks like NetherRealm is making these actions feel more like the actions on screen and not just generic motions one might think there would be in Mortal Kombat X Mobile.

Lastly, and this should be the selling point for Mortal Kombat X Mobile, is that just like in Injustice you can unlock skins and extras for the core Mortal Kombat X. Two skins were shown off but the team states there is a plethora of extras to unlock during Mortal Kombat X Mobile. The two shown were Farmer Jax and the iconic Ninja Mime Johnny Cage skins. Finally we are going to get to see Ninja Mime in action as well as shut Johnny Cage up when playing Mortal Kombat X. No more wise cracks just for having fun on your phone or tablet.

Mortal Kombat X Mobile — Explained

With what we've seen already and the extra time one may have for Mortal Kombat X Mobile I can see this being a great addition for Mortal Kombat X. Not to mention that the skins that have been shown so far are worth playing a bit of the mobile just to get Ninja Mime. I am sold and so should you be. Tell me if you need more to sell you on for Mortal Kombat X Mobile down in the comments. I am curious as to what else we may be unlocking in the near future.
