Android Humble Bundle 3

With the music bundle over, it seems the team is getting back to what they do best, offering fascinating Indy games. This time there are four for grabs, five if you pay past the average. There’s a little something for everyone.

Fieldrunners: Subatomic Studios offers its take on the tower defense genre with this war themed game. With a diverse selection of towers available to be placed, Fieldrunners offers a twist to the genre by allowing you to design the mazes that the enemies have to pass through, offering more strategy to the game.

BIT.TRIP BEAT: Up this time from Gaijin Games is this single player pong, rhythm game, brain trip. Many of you will remember Gaijin Games with their other BIT.TRIP games like BIT.TRIP RUNNER or BIT.TRIP FLUX. This game is a fun combination of hectic timing, kaleidoscopic colors, and infectious music. If you feel the need for some 8-bit action, this is for you.

SpaceChem: From the mind of Zachary Barth and Zachtronics Industries we have this mind-bending puzzle game. Your goal is to build specific chemical molecules through complex series of paths. The simple style emphasizes the complex game play. SpaceChem is a game unlike any other and deserves a look if only for the sheer uniqueness. You might not even notice that you’re learning chemistry. The site does point out, however, that you need a devise with a resolution of 1200x800.

Uplink: Have you ever watched a spy film and seen their tech genius use an iPod to break into the government’s criminal database? Ever wanted to do that yourself? Introversion Software offers you the chance to be a big time hacker in its puzzle game. Uplink draws you into your own hacker movie with dramatic techno music and a HUD straight out of science fiction. Though the game is more of a point and click adventure game, its style alone should keep you interested. Note, this game is also only for tablet systems if you want the mobile version.

Spirits: The bonus game for this bundle, Spirits comes to us from Spaces of Play. Reminiscent of World of Goo, this game requires some tactical positioning of the charming spirits you can control to offer a path for the rest to reach the glowing swirl at the end. What sticks out immediately for this game is the art style. For being a mobile/tablet game, it looks gorgeous with a style straight out of a fairy tale. It offers a robust amount of levels and would be worth dropping the extra change.
